Thank you for sharing your work and all tips. Every day I am learning and growing as a beginner artist. Your art is absolutely beautiful. Thank you! 💛
You are such a good teacher! Just discovered you, and I'm bingewatching all your videos and learning a lot!
Okay tell me why it look easy but hard to draw practically
My little dream is to sketch like Scottie and travel the whole world. Drawing urban stuff for the rest of my life.
I'm doing it up to the nose right now It's fun.
I enjoy that you walk us through the process and guide us with the painting. great stuff
Very cool ❤
😊😊
@sketching scottie i cant download template 😔
Amazing! Thanks for the class, it has been really interesting!
Thank you and Yes as a beginner It was a great help to use the dot method. I'm really appreciating your style of teaching, and the helpful hints.
When the first voice played was Rosberg’s, I was hoping you’d confirm that he is in fact the problem!
What colours are you using ? Please recommend and affordable colours
Showed this to my high school architecture students as an end of year fun activity. Loved it! Thank you for a great video!!!
Tip I just learned a while ago: you can go urban sketching anywhere in the world by using google earth 😎
Wow ❤
This was a good one! Of course I sketched and painted with you. I want you to know that I am trying and enjoying these. I should have used a bigger piece of paper. I can always do it again. Thank you!
Thank you so much! Those dots really de-mystified the face, I just finished my copy, and it turned out amazingly well! Easy to follow, and such fun.
I’m a beginner Patreon member. I can’t wait to find out what kind of pencil you used here!
Herbert, when pen are you using? All my pens flow in contact with water
My favourite tips where the "choosing your one simple object" to start and then the dots for the perspective helper. I tried it once going up to the Fortress in Salzburg, Austria and sketch the mountains and buildings below, but that was so overwhelming and I had to give up :D
Favorite tip: see if you should change the layout of your paper by drawing a border that will work better with your chosen subject. Thanks for a great video
Nada que ver el pelo
Must admit my effort looked like someone from Planet of the Apes. However, that is a huge improvement for me, great video.
My urban sketching style is definitely under the “over details” category. I am very greedy and always wanting to paint all the details to force people to go into the scene with me, studying all the activities that were going on. I am aware that I should simplify, mainly to focus more on the main subject. However, I found leaving out details irritating. Maybe it is a mental thing. But I am trying.
Thank you for your tutorials, Scottie! They’re clear and well-presented, and address the main issues which beginners, like me, need explained, such as vanishing points and the amount of detail to include in an urban sketch. I’m very appreciative.
I am new to this , how one can make money with this ?
Hi Scottie, might you spell out the name of the splatter brush you used, and where I can purchase one, please? Your sketching techniques are so helpful. You make it so easy to create the proper scale and perspective with any subject! Thank you so much much for your content and contributions. ❤
nice work! please do more tutorials!
que gramaje de hoja tienes?
I’m so confused 🫤
💐👌🌹👍🙏
Great sketch! Many greetings from Austria!
loved it! thank you, it was helpfull
Thank you very much. I like the shadows in blue and violet!
So wonderful watching you break down such a complex building, then adding color in a simple yet meaningful strokes. My class assignment this week is to do an urban sketch of the Museum d’Orsay. Your video has helped me create a roadmap for my own work. Thank you so much!
I wish you all the best for your assignment!
I am going to give it a try as soon as possible! I loved this video 😍
awesome! go for it 🙌🏼
I really liked this one, Scottie. The lines of the building seemed quite tricky, all slightly leaning in. I realise how important it is to get the shadows right, it really makes the drawing come alive.
thanks! yes it’s the 3 point perspective making the vertical lines angle slightly in. Has a nice dramatic effect👍🏼
Would brush pen work well on watercolor paper?
You are so good at capturing accurate perspective! Thanks for posting this video.
I love your style. I wanna pursue your style:)
