And Dots thing
Love the “construction dots” & how you give the context of it being a simplification of the Loomis method. This makes so much sense to me. Also I appreciate how you clearly tell us to let the paint dry before proceeding.
I loved the tip to start with a circle with a central point. It makes a lot of sense both as a drawing reference, as well as for correctly positioning the centre of interest.
The approach with the 4 points as a reference point for a circle and building up the other points for nose, jaw etc. is very good and memorable. Many thanks for the great tutorial.
You made this look so accessible. A few dots! Who knew! I have to try this right away. I’m hoping to get much more human looking faces from now on 😁. Thank you so much.
Your great instruction has given me the confidence to draw/paint my granddaughter’s favourite basketball player. I thank you. She thanks you.
I love the style, and the real time creation is incredibly compelling. The first of many artist KZreadrs I've watched to give me hope that I could (eventually) do something like it myself. Plus a wonderful 'joy of painting' vibe, bonus!

Exactly like you. Just starting to learn now in retirement. This step by step process is really working. Slows everything down to little doable steps.
You make it look so easy.
Just found you on KZread and immediately subscribed. I struggle with loomis terribly and this seems so much easier!
First ever art tutorial where i didn't skip ..... completely satisfying ..... i'm going to follow you and learn to draw..... LOVE FROM INDIA
Thank you so much for sharing your approach to portraits. She came out soft and playful and with a great likeness to your reference!
Thanks for thiese tutorial Scottie. More challenging for me as a beginner, but more satisfying task at the same time.
Wonderful demo, I'm going to try it out with a project I was thinking off
Interesting way to approach it. Nice to figure it out
This is a great tutorial, Thank you so much! I really like how much she feels like the person in the photo. It's amazing how you achieved it with such a simple composition. - I'm very glad to have found your channel!
Magic created with a Master's touch.
Great job! I failed on the jawline and nose on the first go around but nailed it the second time. I love following along and doing these at my lunch break. Keep em coming!
You make it look so simple. ❤❤❤
This is the first time I have watched your channel and you have really inspired me, I will be watching more 🙂👍

I will too. Simple directions, easy to follow ✅
I’m learning the Loomis Method… your process is brilliant!! I’m going to try this. New to your channel, thank you!
Wow... Best tutorial I've seen. I can only make a face forward facing. I've watched the Loomis way of drawing faces but yours makes so much sense. I didn't think of a square inside of a circle
very very helpful! thank you so much, you are awesome
I love using loose sketchy pen with watercolor! It's great to see someone doing this! I will definitely be watching your videos! I could use some improvement! I haven't done many paintings with people.
Very simple and good explanation. I can learn to draw with you. Thank you!
So lovely a face,a really useful and interesting vídeo, thank you!❤
This makes me want to try painting portraits. I love your style! 💕

I followed along and, while it certainly was not a masterpiece, this method helped me produce a portrait much better than any of my previous attempts. Thank you for sharing this great method for portraiture!
I feel more confident in sketching a portrait 👩🎨 Thank you!!

So simple tutorial and very easy to follow. This is what I need. Keep up the good works. Thanks so much!
Absolutely love this!
Wow! I’ve had many drawing classes in the past and could never catch on. I feel I can try your method and have a face look like a person instead of an alien. Thank you so much for these wonderful methods. I will try again now that your method has inspired me. During all my watercolors, I would avoid people…now to try again.
This makes sketching much easier now, thank you!!
Your style is so beautiful! Keep up the amazing work!
Awesome tutorial Sir, so much to learn.Amazingly done in a very specifically detailing way. Thnx a ton. Regards
Love this! Just what I’ve been wanting to learn.
Love your vids. They are always truly instructive, with very clear and simple instructions, unlike others which are just a recording of the drawing. Thanks.
Great tutorial! Thank you for sharing! ❤
I love the use of the dots that you use. Very helpful. I dont know what it is with the loomis method, but i cannot make a pretty girl.
Excellent proportion demonstration. I teach drawing and it's shockingly elusive for many artists.

Excellent. You make it look so easy!
I like this approach and am going to give it a whirl!
Wow, Thank you so much Scottie. You are awesome and I have never seen a better tutorial to analyse and explain in such clear detail, follow the dots, how to approach a portrait of this difficultly. Only a joke about the follow the dots; you make it look relatively easy, at least possible with practice, but your artist skills are amazing. Thank you so much for generously sharing your drawing and water colour techniques. ❤❤❤
What a great way of teaching to drown 👍 👍 thank you so much, I love it a lot 👍 💐
INCREDIBLE! 😍
