Mr and Mrs Adventure

Mr and Mrs Adventure

We are Brittany and Drew, husband and wife, who have been traveling the world by van for 8 years and counting! It all started with an idea to teach English in Asia, when we were offered an unused camper to explore our own country 1st! After that 1st year (2015), we got married, flew to England and bought our very own rolling home for a 2.5 year van life honeymoon across Europe and N. Africa. Then, in 2018 we returned to the USA and self converted Spirit, our beloved and handcrafted Sprinter Van. For over 3 years, we searched hi and low for just the right project, international lifestyle and unique property to call home. We made the biggest purchase of our lives and have now shifted all the of the energy we poured into our travels into transforming the home of our dreams. 💪

Global vanlifers now currently parked full time on raw land and renovating a historic watermill ruin (called the Magic Mill) into our #dreamhome in Southern Portugal 🇵🇹💫!

    The progress looks great! Love your energy! I would be worried with the sand beach though: I really hope that the water doesn't wash away all the sand in the next rain season.

Boa sorte.😊

    Hello Adventurers, You need a Mini Tractor like Kubota or another similar 4x4 traction and prepared for all the tools, plowing, weeding, grading, and removing weeds, towing a trailer, you will be better served and you won't need to have many small tools. A big hug.😺😺😺i love cats ...heve 1

    Hmm, the quality of this work (laying bricks) wasn't impressive, but the changes were... (BTW from the language I recognized in Ukrainian), another thing.. that I didn't like hiring someone to do all the little things.. even planting .. just don't get me wrong .. i liked video ..

    Have you consider in building a RAMP PUMP to fill up those 2 water tower? Ramp Pump it is a pump that uses water presure to power tha pump and it works 24 hour a day, without any other type of power source. The only expense you would have is the parts for the pump.

    We're in central Texas and they drilled down to 680ft and hung the well at 660ft. We needed a water softener because of all the limestone, but the water is so good! Congrats on your water!

    Dang, I hope that PVC casing works out for you. I had the same and my ground shifted making it impossible to lift the pump for repair, ultimately we had to drill a new well within a few feet of the old well ($28,000)... used steel casing the second go-round.

    Hi guys, watching your videos reminds me of what my wife and I went through 14 years ago. We live in a 16th century water mill here in the south west of France. Last June a thunderstorm with very heavy rainfall caused a landslide destroying much of the ground floor. These thunderstorms are expected to be more and more violent in all over Europe. So when I see those steep hillsides right above your house it scares the heck out of me. You should plant grass, shrubs, and anything able to stabilize the soils on those terraces. Fire is not the only issue. But I do like your enthusiasm and the positive vibes you send, so don’t let anything get into your way. There are no problems, only solutions.

  • @Mrandmrsadventure
    @MrandmrsadventureКүн бұрын

    Thank you for kind, wise and encouraging words. We will execute with care and enthusiasm. So far we’ve planted grass seed since the summer will be harsh to any new plants, but once the fall and spring are here, we will be getting more roots in the ground. Also, we slanted our terraces, made gullies/gutters and installed a cement irrigation system throughout our land, so that helps too 💪🙏❤️

    The problem with drilling boreholes is that nearby boreholes are connected to the same water mantle. So if you connect too many people to the same source, the level of the water drops. That's the reason they don't give licenses in Algarve. In our country you have to pump the water until it stops pouring and wait for the time until the water level recovers. If that isn't good enough the well is not permited.

  • @Mrandmrsadventure
    @Mrandmrsadventure2 күн бұрын

    Very interesting! Yes, they would not allow us the permit if there had been another well within 200 meters, luckily there was not 🙏

    It's called "witching' for water. My husband can do it with 2 wires, I can only with a willow stick. I was also able to find out how deep by holding a crystal on a string and asking it how deep in feet and asking how deep. When I hit the magic number it started to sway and was bang on.

    I watch 2 other channels. One is in Italy and another one in Portugal. I can honestly say that I enjoy yours the most. You have a lovely blend of construction with personal content. You are always kind and respectful to the local construction workers. I can tell that they are your friends during the process rather than hired hands. You give them 'camera' time that they can share with their families. Their kids must be very proud.I also appreciate the fact that you do try to speak and understand Portuguese which is also very respectful given that you live in Portugal. Thanks for sharing your journey.

    A home I had in Idaho, the well was 421ft deep before they struck anything that was moist, another 30 feet they hit the Snake River Aquafer with enough pressure a cap and regulator were required to get it done to household pressure. Directly across the road a small subdivision was put in a few years after I had moved. They hit water at just over 200 feet. Go figure. Congrats.
