@@Mrandmrsadventure Not sure if you are planning to put more windows in your home. If not, re-think this aspect of your home remodel. Windows are the key to having a happy life when at home. Sunlight & seeing the beautiful outdoors all day long even on a rainy or cold day will make you happy. Project is coming along amazingly. You hired a Great hardworking crew.

What a difference from what the mill looked like😳👍😍Just a tip for you guys..keep a photo record of every room where the electrical pipes(tubes) are running so when the time comes to hang pictures you know exactly where NOT to drill into the wall😉

Yes, it’s a good idea. There is also a device just like a stud finder that can be used as well to find the wires.

WOWEEEE...for the 1st time, I just realised the incredible enormity of the building works involved. The whole project, land included is growing into something quite spectacular indeed. Yeeeehaah 💜🙏💜

I hope you consider a wood burning stove as well as the floor heating. It's a big and very tall space to heat! And in the winter, with all the rain , it will get chilly.

I have a husband who was a builder so have watched any number of homes being built but your home is so unique I am having trouble visualizing what the finished product will look like. Can hardly wait till it’s finished because I can already tell that it is going to be outstandingly gorgeous. It must be amazing for you to watch it all come together in reality. Moorish archways under a moorish dome!!! If you make a series of small natural stone spillways to cause more pools along the creek it will give the land more time to absorb water and raise your water table over time.

19:26 - I like these guys, they do things exactly like I would do: avoid doorways and unnecessary curves whenever possible. 👍 18:20 - They do it not only to keep the tubes in place but also to make it easier for the "pedreiros" to cover the channels, so it's ultimately a team work. 🙂 24:35 - What they did to hold the wall boxes in place is called "desenrascanço" in Portuguese, so you might as well learn this word because you'll probably use it in the future. It's pronounced more or less like this: de-zen-ras-can-so. It's a very unique portuguese trait that consists of, as you saw, coming up with ways to solve problems with things that aren't usually associated with the function they're performing. If I had to compare it with something you're familiar with, it'd be like what McGyver did in the TV series. 😀

our hope is to cover the exterior, and maybe even interior of the turet, with bricks. The ones you could see before for strictly just structural and needed covered - though we loved the look too 😘

Every time I begin your videos it starts so magically. That is how this entire experience has been with your renovation of your home, the water mill. 🤗🌻

I see other people commenting, that the first thing they do on Sunday morning is to watch your channel, but I am the opposite, I saved the best for last, lol. A lot of the channels I watch post weekly videos on Sunday and while I was excited to see you had a new episode, I made myself wait and watch the other ones first, so I could enjoy yours today when nothing new is going on.😊 One of the other channels I watched, was doing that slap coat on the bricks around the roof of their house, but didn’t have the technique down so they ended up using sponge rollers and they got so filthy, lol. Completely splattered.😂 I wanted to reach through the screen and tell them to watch your channel from when you did the back patio. Amazing progress, and the scratch coat does make a huge difference in how everything looks. Keep on keeping on and I’ll be here next week, if a day late!

Your work crew is amazing with all their skills and know how to get your house into a livable state. How are you planning to heat your home? One suggestion is to have heated floors run off solar panels for power, being fairly inexpensive to have and pays for itself in the long run. Keep up the good work guys your videos are very interesting and I look forward to the next one too. I enjoy seeing other parts of Portugal so hope you can do a little traveling around the area and take us along.

I had hoped to share a photo of the reroofed at my parents’ ‘little house in the forest’ with its finial that had been waiting to be placed for 28 years. It was a magical moment to see the transformation. Not photo but you great imaginations.

Save some of the runoff. Create a lagoon or different size & depth water pools. The transformation of the mill home.
