CarlTheLandscapeGuy

Hello and welcome to my channel.
At the age of 5 I built my first garden pond and during the school holidays I loved working in the gardening department. Landscaping has become an integral part of my life. As a former foreman, construction manager and Master of Engineering in the field of landscaping, I can now look back on some experience. In my videos I show construction sites and private projects and hope to give as many viewers as possible an insight. The focus is on the fun and beauty of landscaping along with tips for building it yourself. Thank you for your interest in the videos.
I would be very happy about your subscription, like or comment.
Good luck with your projects and see you soon, your Carl the landscaper

If a manufacturer sees this video they will void the warranty. No pressure testing with nitrogen. Vacuum procedure was all wrong.

Trying to build my first ever garden waterfall and this video has been super helpful. I have a question that I maybe misunderstood, the electrical part, you leave it tucked in, is it dangerous? We sometimes have field mouse in the yard, is there a way to protect it? And do you connect it with an outlet and leave it?

Hi Carl, I hope you see my comment. How tall are the stepping stones you used to create the dams? It's hard to tell in the video looking at a your hand size in comparison to the block, it looks to be about 8inches maybe? Thanks

Any DIY'er be careful building a rubble wall this way, especially with the technique of smearing the mortar over the face of the stone... some mortar mixtures can stain the face of your stone permanently. Better to cut the mortar back and then point the joints carefully unless you KNOW with certainty that the mortar will not stain your rubble.

Is it safe to put a bed under a unit like this? Is there a chance it may fall on someone’s head?

Installation magic !!!! You inspired me to do it excatly as you showed. It all went perfectly fine, withouth any issue whatsoever.. And all is working fine the second year now , and i have zero issues. Really really good work, and installers should learn from this... When so called " pro " installers came, and saw, how i did it ( based on this video ) , they were completely schocked by the details and all. THANK YOU SO MUCH for percision guidance... Great respect.

What product did you use for the grout? I'm going to be making a mosaic porch and need a great weather product to use for my larger joints between my tile pieces. I live in South Texas. I'll be laying the tiles on wet cement but I wont' be able to get the sides of the tiles nicely laid in the cement so I need a good grout to help fill in the spaces. My substrate will be freshly laid cement.

I remember serving my time and although a slightly different approach to it, most of the procedures were the same. I recall that style being referred to as European Fan, and something similar to what was also known as Durax Paving. It’s great power see true artisans producing such quality work.
