I have multiple mechanical experience, and I learned to do test, before final assembling of pipes or wirings. Whole system might changed for something reason. Here in Finland assembler need licence for that job. Advice for buyer: You can found manuals of many AC syntems for comparison from internet.

I love how you neatly managed the outlets and wire. The cherry on the cake was that bundle cable which gave it a clean single pipe look. Loved it, would install it the same way.

Watching this after I bought my first mobile airconditioner 3 in 1 BTU7000, and it sucks, this split outside unit is tha bomb and you are a real pro man, probz 👊🏽💪🏽

Installation magic !!!! You inspired me to do it excatly as you showed. It all went perfectly fine, withouth any issue whatsoever.. And all is working fine the second year now , and i have zero issues. Really really good work, and installers should learn from this... When so called " pro " installers came, and saw, how i did it ( based on this video ) , they were completely schocked by the details and all. THANK YOU SO MUCH for percision guidance... Great respect.

Excellent video! Unfortunately my country requires separate certification for AC and electrical installation, but at least now I can check to see that the installer does a proper job.

seen a lot of tutorials hoping to do a diy installation in my room but i ended up hiring one to do it for me, securing those tools needed to get the job done would cost much more than hiring a qualified technician, good learning material though for aspiring techs

Most AC units here in Bulgaria come with free installation by a qualified technician, which I very much appreciate. By no means does that stop me from watching installation videos though :D By now I have watched maybe 15-20 videos, and out of them, yours look the most professional (except for the vacuuming part). At first it even seemed like a bit of an overkill to me, because of all the extra insulation, but I do believe that it will greatly benefit the energy efficiency, so it's good. Thank you for sharing this experience with the world!

The cost of installation is always higher than the air conditioner in HK. I think the price of standard installation and the air conditioner are combined in your country.

Great job and very clean installation. People please use a vice when cutting with any kind of cutting disc and powered tool. Seen people loose fingers trying to cut like you did when splitting the 90 degree bend pvc.

Well if their fingers are loose they should tighten them with the torque wrench

Majority of the HVAC technicians don’t do the correct way of insulating the influent and effluent line like you did. Carl, Maybe you know by now but I did not read anyone making comment on, that you are not getting the proper torque on your flare nuts when you use the Crows Foot adapter, the way you did it would increase the torque, you must understand that the torque is measured from the center of where you attach the socket, it is measured from the center of the square to the pivot point on the handle and if there is no pivot point then it is measure from about the center of the handle where your hand covers. You can use a Crows Foot but you must have the crows foot at a 90 degree not straight out from the end, if you do straight out you are without question putting a HIGHER Torque on the fittings. Fittings have a min. and max. Torque value. and we must keep it in that range. Hope this helps and also for all your KZreadr friends other than that you did a GREAT job. Thank you!

Great video.. learnt alot Tiny tip: if you put the crows foot at a right angle to the torque wrench, you won’t affect the torque value. That’s how you keep the torque accurate.. I’m an aircraft engineer so we use torque wrenches all the time

Until toward the end I realized this took place in Great Britain. Lol I was wondering why metal casing (MC) electrical wire wasn't used. This was a excellent professional installation. Bravo!!

Man I gotta say, but that was an awesome install. I absolutely love the way you payed attention to detail. You it did so neatly and tidy especially with the outdoor PVC piping and brown plastic housing for the power cord... 🧰👍 For some reason regular installers do it in 5 minutes without all them beauty covers and what not, plus they dont even install all the parts in - in my case they didnt put back the metal cover inside the main unit where the AC power lines go, so I had to put it back in myself... I always keep hearing "we're in hurry/there isn't enough time etc. etc" uurrrggggg 😠 What a load of nonsense/rubbish! - its simply no one wants to do it quality and just trys to half-ass it... which is unfortunate indeed 😔. As the saying goes, "Sometimes you gotta' dump the baby out with the bathwater" - ironic isn't it...

Excellent installation. fully trouble free service.

Good video. Completely illegal to DIY here in Australia but I think I could do it after watching.

First time i see someone takes the time to insulate the outer cables. very professional. all the installers here leave it as it is. just to finish the job and get it over with. that's why no one can do it better then you. One question though: regarding the water hoze (where water will come out from) => how will you clean mold inside it? (it eventually comes).

I am pretty sastified with your neat and perfect spectacular aligned installation. But i think if you get the connections of cooper tubes underneath indoor unit .The connecting flare nut could leak the referigerant in future. You have to remove all the installation kit to re flare leakages. I am also pro installation technician. I make hole left side of the indoor the connections will always easy to remove indoor unit for washing purpose or maintenance. And also hidden from sight. I hope you got my point. Your professional skills appreciated and admirable. God bless you.

Hello, good work and a great idea with the vacuuming. I just wonder why you left the hose there after vacuuming?

Super installation, precisely executed work. However, there is one rather important shortcoming. Vacuuming of the pipe was not done to remove all the moisture. This is an important thing in order to avoid degradation of the coolant in the system and subsequent poor functionality of the system.

Over here you re requires to have a vacuum of 270 psi or less, that maintains itself for 30 minutes to two hours depending on how much refrigerant the system needs.

Just a tip if your not going to crimp the ends of your incoming power cable to the outside unit should deffo loop around the screw before tightening just due to the vibration of the unit they will become loose and if there not looped round they don't have as much contact area to prevent arcing if a gap opens up. 👍

Just one problem : testing system for leaks ? Suppose you have a leak after line set is fully connected ??? Yupp , even with the best intention's of doing a great install from licensed hvac company . leakes do occur. The rest of this video was top notch. And thank you for pasting knowledge forward.

Yep. Have to put a holding charge of nitrogen and wait. Also not sure why he wouldn't show at least some of the process of putting a vacuum on the system and stressing the importance of actually pumping down for a long time. Getting a 30 foot line set down to nearly 500 mic can take quite awhile.

@@joemartinez7619 Ok so I looked into it and apparently Mr. Cool has some special valve tech in the connections on their lineset. They come "pre-vacuumed" so as to not need to be pumped down. Still myself I am not a fan of Mr. Cool. Mostly because if you do have some sort of failure of any kind there won't be anything at your local supply house to actually be able to get you running again. It will come down to ordering it and from who knows where and who knows how long it will take.

@@thecrackrabbit9531 interesting. I understand they say there line set comes pre vacuumed. I understand some line sets come pre charged. In the perfect world conditions. Lol Ask any hvac or hvacr tect. ? " about in a perfect world " lol. To many non perfect world things that happen . When connecting your flare nuts chances of a vacuumed leak ; rather more like lose of vacume is more like. it . How do u know ? If you lost your pre vacuume ? Air and moisture sucked in by vacume break when connecting flare nuts. Only way to know if you have a leak is presure test or proforming a complete vacume to 500 microns and holding for a hour : the more time you hold to see if pressure changes. No other way. Now of course you may also connect your line set and open both valves and check pressure/ temperature let it sit for a few hr's to a few days : depends how smal or big of a leak you may have. Now also if u contaminated system with air and moisture it would show on ur gauges too . How ever this is to be done by a licensed individual. I do not advice any diy or non license havc to try it.

good job! as I was going to try the hand pump way too, I was wondering how you made the joint between the pvc tube and the service port tight not to lose vacuum? I thought I'd hot glue it to have a better seal.

I really appreciate this excellent video - I wish however that you had spent a little more time after pulling the vacuum on how you opened the refrigerant valves to charge the system and it would be nice to know what valve to open first. Otherwise GREAT job - TY

in order the condensation water drip into the plastic pipe in indoor unit, you need some degree to tilt the bracket toward the output flow right into the pipe. just to make it sure, glad you make it crystal clear explanation.

A good idea is to use lock washers or nuts with neoprene inserts and install nuts from the bottom in case nut does fall off the bolt will not fall but will keep the unit from moving off the bracket !

Great job! Put the condensed water to coil for more efiiciency. I make this with mobile airconditionet converted from 1 hose to 2 hoses.

Hi Carl, great video. I want to attempt this as well and I already have a hand pump but for the life of me can't figure out how you connected the clear pipes with the piece of metal to create a vacuum. Please explain that connection. Thanks.

The join should be installed indoors because if the join is stored in the wall when general service is difficult to open the join and dont forget vacum the unit -30 min
