This is an awesome idea - Other creators have done stuff like this for other games and I like how you've approached it here! I think if you are looking to give people "advice" or a review after, it would be good to add a very brief bullet-point section at the end! You make some very keen observations about what to do while playing through it, I think a summary at the end would be good. "Here's what we needed to do throughout the game prior to this in order to lessen the impact of any disasters, and here's the specific things we needed to do during and after this disaster to recover from it. Looking forward to the next one!

This is more akin to Minion Masters and other vs mode games. Instead of improving what worked and innovating they instead just removed it all. All complexity and strategy outside combat is almost completely gone. Also as a spectator I want to see the development of the players strategies they make outside of combat, give the player enough options to create their own style. In Battle Aces every game looks the same. It's a blobby mess of combat too, individual micro of important units is also gone... I really hope this does not become huge because then everyone will copy it and then RTS will truly be dead. I can't believe David Kim would make an anti RTS.

I'm not playing vs AI - I'm recovering the replays vs a masters random player in the opponents slot. I encourage them to look around the replay and be familiar with the position whilst I'm going in blind other than the players explanation. I had SO much fun with this new show, I'll definitely be turning this into a regular show!

Bombers seem like a "win more" unit to the extreme and you can do very little about it? Feels not quite balanced yet, but perhaps that's hard to judge from these games alone.

I can see where this would be useful to identify the mistakes a player made prior to Pig taking over, but as Pig is playing from a replay, isn't the AI controlling the enemy units? Does a player like Pig being able to defeat the AI really tell us much?

@@PiGstarcraft I see. I was down with the idea of seeing if you could recover a lost game, but a player of your caliber trouncing the AI didn't strike me as very informative. Knowing you're up against another competent player makes all the difference.

PiG this is a brilliant idea for a series. It's like one of those things that very few people can do, because it combines your GM level skill with your extensive coaching and commentary experience to create something valuable. Your B2GM series is great but your skill means that you don't get caught up in these weird disastrous positions that us normies get caught in every single time way play, and part of SC2 is knowing how to recover (or at least move forward) from a bad state. This whole thing was like a lesson on improvisation, as well as a demonstration of how that extra skill can be applied to turn a losing position into a winning one. It reminds me of some of those puzzle games that throw you into the middle of a weird scenario with a handful of very specific pieces and asks you to find the winning solution. Man, you and Harstem are treasures to this community. Skill in playing and commentating is great, but the way you two constantly bring your creative energies to your content and innovate what can be done around this video game make this 14 year old game still feel pretty fresh to watch as a viewer.

For the first game - maybe an answer to 'why didn't they have more than one gas geyser?' is that there is a common piece of advice floating around to only stay on one gas until you saturate three mineral lines. I followed it for a while but have started taking gasses earlier vs. Protoss for the very reason that I'd die vs all-ins like this.
