Casting from the other person's PoV was great, turned it into a tense situation rather than just silly. Plus now Diddy got some gratis coaching to make up for getting dragged into the sewer.

I liked this a lot! It really gives a sense of how oppressive this sort of gameplay can feel, while clearly demonstrating how little there is to back it up and how the most important thing is just to stick to basics and not get distracted. Thank you!

Awesome! The victim's cam was a nice way to give a different touch to the florencios files. Pig, you're commentary was superb, funny and educational at the same time! And thumbs up to diddy! The pause chat was pretty cool and I liked his way of taking the Florenci-experience like a champ. Great 14:58 minutes of my day, keep it up, dear Pig!

This is a really good format to cast cheese. It would be even better to do a bit of rewind after and see exactly what build Florencio did and remove the fog of war. Love the content!

Was he really on two bases or were there a random PS in the middle of the map? A bit frustrating to never had a full view of the map!

10:30 - I guess you are confusing hollywood movies with actual history. Ditches were used as defensive tools and were NOT entered lightly. We have examples where ditches where dug in cover and charging cavallry was not aware of them until it was too late. But that is not stupidity. Another example is the battle at Alesia, where the Gauls did try to break the Roman fortifications and DID enter the ditches - because they were numerically very advantaged and Alesia was starved out. They had to try to break the Romans. But most battles were field battles. Heavily defended cities were usually not taken by force but by surprise, treachery, by capitulation (if the attacker appeared too strong) or by starvation. Attacks on fortified cities that were prepared and manned were rare. Because people were NOT stupid. And people DID value their life. Forget what you see in movies how ancient battles were fought, basically every single movie and show gets it completly wrong. Edit: Oh, and please don't get it wrong, I do not want to insult you, I love you casting! I just try to correct stuff about historical warfare, because I am a little interested in this time period and there is a lot that is portrayed incorrectly :) And the worst that can happen is +1 comment for the algorithm :)

    > But most battles were field battles. False, most battles were sieges. Hence the ditches commentary. You might know Roel Konijnendijk's commentary on movies, ditches is his meme word :D

@@p_serdiuk Not sure if you are joking or not. But the claim that "most battles were sieges" is just not true for ancient warfare. The huge majority of battles were field battles. No matter if you look at Greek warfare, Alexanders war in the East or Roman warfare. Sure, if you count every single small settlement Alexander captured as "battle", then you be right. In the mountains he captured many small settlements. But these were not battles in the sense of armies clashing. Small settlements were most of the time captured quite shortly. And even in the Roman times, it wasn't easy to capture well fortified cities (even though the Romans excelled at engineering, a lot of their enemies lacked these capabilities.) Like I said, for a VERY long time heavily fortified cities were not taken by brute force but by other means. Or just look at the Roman legions and all the battles they fought. On the spot I can't remember A SINGLE incident, were a Roman legion was attacked when they were in their camp. Because the camps were too well fortified to attack - and those were camps that were constructed every day, just to be torn down in the morning.

@@wedgeantilles8575 Mmmm, we are talking about very different times. PiG references the practice of medieval English longbowmen carrying wooden stakes with them to protect themselves against cavalry charges (and yes they would also dig some ditches if there's enough time), and also how Florencio's matches often play out like the Battle of Agincourt, or any number of disastrous castle sieges where a big assaulting force is broken by a comparatively small number of defenders who are using extensive multi-layered fortifications. In the medieval period, what I've said is true. Not sure why you think SCII is in any way similar to ancient warfare.
