Flo Hides 14 Bases in One Game | Florencio Files
Ойындар
I cast one of the mysterious and deranged StarCraft 2 builds of the one and only, Florencio, the dude that invented the Protoss proxy nexus recall rush. In this episode, the Sewer Mermaid has a very good strat that deals a lot of damage. But is it enough against such a good opponent?

How fitting. I got a chesse commercial on this video before it launched. The slogan at the end was "Now THIS is cheese". Even KZread knows how Florencio rolls.

Yep. This is probably how it feels to try to eradicate rats from the sewers. You go to a different pass, you find a new rat den. You remove that and now the rats are back where you started.

I played Florencio once on EU ladder haha. I am way worse than him but I thought "let's try your best" - well, I missed that hatch in my base, Flo went burrow + tunneling claws Roaches before I had my factory lol. I got smashed xD

So hilarious! Very few SC2 games have made me laugh like this one. Nice cast, your reactions made me laugh even more!
How to properly micro blink stalkers: 1) allow the Archon to tank for them. 2) wait for the Archon to die. 3) once the Archon is dead, then blink the stalkers forward. 4) repeat way too many times.
One of my favorite Flo moments was when he opened a custom game and demonstrated how he beat AlphaStarcraft when he likely encountered it on ladder. His control with two different "sides" while he set up the demo with just his own units was amazing.

Flo's unwillingness to upgrade is so frustrating.
@quickdraw6893
Жыл бұрын
He sees no upgrades as being like wearing weights in martial arts, so that when he takes them off (starts making upgrades) he will perform way more powerfully. I'm guessing since he's joined a team he wants his games outside of the league to keep being no-upgrades practice so that he'll stomp in tournament games.
Omg Florencio is my spirit animal now
Need more flo files! This is the wacky side of StarCraft that I lovd
this might be my new favorite flo file this was just to good. I cant even imagine me trying to process this, if I played against this my brain would break.
What a lucky day!! Thanks so much, now I'm happier because of TFF!
That was a wild day in the sewage plant.
So going 3 hatch before overlord is actually 2 drones slower than a standard opener BUT it makes your opponents lose their shit and try to rush you. Having 3 hatches that early can create some very impressive ling floods.
Flo could have mineral walked a heap of probes all on top of each other past those cannons at the start. Kuyzz would have seen a single probe wandering out of the main. Great game!
I've seen it on his main channel, and now I'm enjoying PiG's commentary. ^_^
Eventually Flo will get into this situation again and there’s going to be more mutalisks in the army every time it reappears from the fog of war lmao
The sewer mermaid broke another one. At the end, he just wanted to escape the pain...
Captain Florencio: “I can keep this up all day!”
that was absolutely disgusting, i loved it. lol.
Love these!
Regarding the shield battery wall, Kuyzz plays coop I'm sure. It's pretty common to create a shield battery wall when paying Karax. :-)
Sewer science is strong
For me, this game only proves how mentally challenged cannon rushers are.

This game was beautiful
That made my head hurt
no words
I wonder how many cups Flo would've won if he had the mechanics on point
what a game xD
Yey a fellow BSG fan nice :D
As bad as toss was, I'm so mad at Flo for rallying out those units, not only could he really have used them but giving himself away, this could have been the dream and he lost, he only won because the guy left but he was a hair's breadth away from having an objective win after that and that would have been something crazy
Flo could have had a pretty easy time winning if he didn't kill his workers, he just had to delay and kill a pylon or two every so often and he would eventually build up way faster, but that doesn't sound like something flo would do. "Why macro when you can mess with your opponent more?"
I mean imagin being someone playin the campaing and casually jumping into a pvp game, only to be faced by this mental breakdown waiting to happen.

Just send a single zealot to every possible base location. The base locations that don't have a zealot on them are the ones you need to take out. Some of the zealots may die, but that is a sacrifice I'm willing to make. He just left?! Why?!
@washemoamadah4706

Hehe, it is easy to say with all the information at hand and when not engaged into action. The dude misread the situation, he was so sure he won in the early midgame, the comment that remarked "What are we even doing?", the "we" is a "you", a polite "what the fuck are you doing? griefing? accept the defeat and leave". And when he started to realize the situation he wasn't prepared, adrenaline hit hard, I think stupified is a word for it. It is like you board a flyplane to go to vocation, and you land in a warzone, it would take a couple of hours to acclimatize mentally before your mind can digest the situation. His mind was simple overtaken by the situation and refused to process new information before the old have been sorted and catergorized.
@metasystem8625

@@washemoamadah4706 "Easy to say with all the information at hand..."? What more information was needed? - He killed all known bases of Florencio. - Florencio wasn't revealed => Flo built a new base somewhere else, probably near minerals. Two options: 1. You do a full, sequential sweep of the map. Advantage: Your army stays together. Problem: Flo can sneak a drone and re-expand, and you need to re-do the sweep. 2. You send a cheap unit to every possible location and keep it there. Advantages: - It's trivial to know which locations have bases on them, because the zealots are missing. - It's faster because it checks every base in parallel instead of sequentially. - It requires very few actions to do. - You gain map vision from all the units everywhere. Disadvantages: - Your zealots might get picked off by mutas. But they're not important right now, anyway, the Mutas can't be everywhere at once so there's still a good chance it works, and at least you know where the Mutas are at the moment. This is an easy, quickly-executed check. All it takes is basic scouting. He had all the information needed to make this call. You may call it simplistic, but it works. I've done this multiple times, I'd expect a Master to do the same (or better, since he's higher ranked than me). I wouldn't push for the execution of something I can't execute myself. It's clear he misread the situation, but, as you can see, my logic does not require that he read the situation correctly. Comparing SC2 to a warzone is pretty weird. I know what adrenaline does, and I accept that some concessions have to be made. Like the panic-F2 that pulled his Archons across the map and left the base undefended. I have no issue with things like that. Or the fact that he used his entire army instead of just the Collossi to clear the spines, possibly to be faster - a minor mistake considering the situation. But he sat around for 10 minutes doing nothing. Enough time to calm down a bit and find the solution. You're right. He was clearly unable to deal with the situation. My point is, he shouldn't have been so very stressed that basic concepts are no longer executed, or rather, even in his stressed state he should have been able to do this. There are some games where you cannot help but feel bad for Flo's victims - and there are those where I'd say "come on, you should have had this." This is one of the latter. But maybe you still disagree. I'd like to know - what should we be allowed to expect from players in such situations? Was this the best performance we can hope for? Are we not allowed to criticise players at all? I'd be interested to hear what you think. In any case, maybe we should learn from this and actively seek out these situations. Just start a base trade now and then, and let the dice fall where they may. Then we get better at dealing with these non-standard situations. And then we know how to deal with them.
