At the moment he said he hates hand stitching, I was doing that very thing and thinking how much I liked it because it looks so nice. Lol.
Absolutely beautiful ❤️
Wow, you are a true artisan. Bravo ❤❤❤
I have days like that, hang in there buddy ❤❤❤❤❤
Steve, it's because you live in the left wing shit hole called Northern Virginia and they don't like your politics. Put a Pride flag in your sign planter and they won't make you move it.
Steve you're a master craftsman. Hope to meet you in person God willing
BRAVO Bedo but do not talk too much
Nothing wrong with your video work. You show the steps to repair and you do it very well. Also very relaxing and satisfying to see the fantastic finished product. Thanks for being an old school classic.
For the lining you could have laid the old lining on thin cardboard to make a pattern, then use that to cut the new lining.
Jane Birken versus Ellen Barkin. I see you corrected it in the information section. Jane died a year ago next week. She actually wanted her name disassociated with the bag because she because she was against crocodile farming. She told the CEO of Hermes when she came him with the idea that she needed a weekender bag that could also carry a change of clothing and other necessities for overnight stays.
Shoulda shown that nailing …
Whats the shop name . I would love to get a pair worked on
I had an hilarious dispute online with a purse diva about the value of these bags. Yes they are very nice bags with fine workmanship but I was astonished at the disintegration of the lining in this video. I have a few cheap bags from 40 years ago and the linings are intact. It was impossible to argue with this person however that a house is worth more than a purse. She ended up blocking me! 😂😂
I love the coat you're wearing! It matches my DUPBAGY bag perfectly!
Absolutely stunning finish. Beautiful looking shoe…..
I feel you with the hand stitching. Over the past couple years, I've gotten into repairing and restoring shoes and boots for my own collection. Obviously as a home hobbyist, I can't afford an outsole stitcher, so I have to do all of my soles by hand. It's a real bitch. 😬

❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful job!! That leather is so stiff. You are such a craftsman.
I would say that $240 is a fair representation of your skill and hard work but is poor overall value for an unbranded shoe.
Impressive. I recently became aware of the value of these bags, and thought the prices must be greatly exaggerated and full of excess profits. Your fee for essentially building a new bag confirms the retail pricing as being somewhat reasonable. Now, how do the Chinese, or whomever, make such nice knock-offs for $300?! That's impressive, too.

Amei todas as bolsas lindas e de muito bom gosto.Parabens 😍 #LVGUCI 😍
Hi Steve! That came out great! I hope you had a great 4rh!🎉
Thanks! You too!
16:54 Steve, when would you use turpentine instead of acetone to clean/strip down upper?
Actually, it was inspired by Jane Birkin, not Ellen Barkin.
Steve, sorry haven’t been keeping up with you, I’ve been sick, but this project turned out so fantastic I had to send you a big compliment on your work! You are, in my opinion the best on the net. Thanxz
I hope you feel better
How absolutely fascinating to see an Hermes handbag being repaired and to such a high standard. I wish I had stumbled onto a not so old Hermes handbag in terrible condition, and to know that there are such talented and skilled craftsmen to repair it. Unfortunately, I will never have $30K USD to frivolously spend on a handbag, but if I did, I would rather buy a reconditioned one. I haven’t heard of such a service here in Australia, and wonder if anyone knows if such a person or service is available? Mind you, randomly coming into such a handbag here in Australia, would be quite a rare event, as the older generations that are passing away in 2024 wouldn’t have had the same access to Hermes and other such brands as women in Europe and the USA.
The problem isn't with the camera it's the lighting, I think try a different angle to see. Love your work by the way.
You can rant anytime you want! Sending much brotherly 💗 and 🙏 your way friend. Oh yeah.... Greetings from Arizona!
You sir are a master with the razor knife! 🙏 As a retired union ironworker I did a great deal post tension (cable jobs) lol. I gashed myself on several occasions stripping the plastic sheathing. Ouch. Lol
That's right! HAMMER time!
Excellent job on the LV Cabas Alto! It was absolutely beautiful, and I love the added structure, very clever idea. I will surely keep your email address for future use. Thanks for sharing your excellent craftsmanship.
Steve, Comme d’habitude tu as fait un travail magnifique en préservant l’histoire et la qualité de cet objet. Encore bravo et merci pour tes vidéos où s’exprime ta bonne humeur ! 👍👍
What with the new loafer craze, you might get real busy!
It's always amazing to watch your content Steve. A massive amount of work involved with this project but you've done an incredible job @bedos_leatherworks!
Can't believe you just happened to have that textured leather laying around for a perfect replacement!!
Re: cost. Hermes bags are generational investment pieces. Same with paintings - but only paintings have that a proven ‘name’ and are therefor a collectible of sorts. I personally think expensive dinners and buying coffees is absolutely absurd - I respect that others do it. I don’t say this to them, I just put my money elsewhere. The cost people spend each day over time - I would much rather have a Birkin that I can hand down to my children and grandchildren. Like jewellery or antiques. If you aren’t into it - no need to shade others for their interests. And as an artist - I have respect for artisanal work. The brand IS the investment. Like Bentley vs Mazda.
I'm sure someone else will already have said it, but this isn't an attache case, it's a briefcase. Attache cases are the boxy rigid types with a hard outer and clamshell opening. This would typically be called a briefcase. The two are often misnamed.
I love the details you give when you’re working, but could I ask the question what thickness of leather is used in making the foot bed that shoe?
Greeks are drinking turkish coffee 😅😅
Man, man, man..... wow..... golden hends
Cheeky bastards same as all councils
Hello Steve. This must be the finest example of that style of Government case anywhere in the world now! Superb. And such a great video to watch. The perfect leather. Amazing how your huge leather collection just ‘luckily’ threw up the perfect match. Beautiful to watch. Thanks Steve. Another video which brings the viewers joy.
