    The sad thing is the Indiana Jones and the Crystal skull looks like an academy, award-winning piece of cinematic art compared to the last Indiana Jones movie. Indiana Jones, and the dial of Destiny. Everyone thought Crystal skull was bad but they just hadn’t had the misfortune of watching of destiny.so so so so so bad. Potholes you could drive a semi truck sideways. It’s just terrible. I would watch Crystal skull 10 times before I’ll ever ever watch battle of destiny a second time.

    I will not, anytime soon, understand why corporate pencil pushers think their wealth just magically shows up on their doorstep when they want it. A work of art does well, then they get greedy and cut funding for the project. Then sit with their mouths open in shock when their earnings go down hill.

    Beavvis & Butthead was not "adult animation", it was "(male) adolescent animation". It should never be bracketed with The Simpsons or Futurama.

    if each episode takes 9 - 12 months to write, how can you say "the writers tested the waters" with luck of the fryrish, and it "was so well received, it gave Cohen the confidence to push things even further" that doesn't make sense, anything else in the pipeline was either written long before or not ready, what am i missing here?

  • @ItWasAShtShow
    @ItWasAShtShow23 сағат бұрын

    Easy. Luck of the Fryrish is Season 3. And episodes like The Sting & Jurassic Bark are Season 4. Also, I'm practically quoting them verbatim.

    I am having a hard time getting past the two or three minute mark of this video, because the narrator says The Simpsons was a global phenomenon... speaking as somebody who taught English all around the world in the 2000s, I can tell you, dear God, I wish that was true-- but it's not. The vast vast majority of foreign language subtitled or dubbed adaptations of The Simpsons are absolutely horrendous garbage, and very few people outside of non-english speaking countries are remotely interested in anything that Matt Groening has ever done. Of course Germany has to be the big exception, Homer works perfectly as a beer swilling Bavarian lout, and of course the Germans are massive fans of Futurama. But if the Simpsons was even remotely appealing to people in the former Soviet Union, for example, it would have made my job as an English teacher much much easier.

  • @ItWasAShtShow
    @ItWasAShtShowКүн бұрын

    While I understand your point, your experience is anecdotal. The mere fact that the show is dubbed into 15 languages and its popularity in the UK, Germany, and especially Argentina by definition makes it a global hit. Just because it wasn’t big in [insert country you were in] doesn’t negate that fact.
