We do have an outdoor shower but no internet (which people are looking to get away from when they book here). We charge $99 per night and are booked solid all season. It’s certainly not everyone’s cup of tea but those people usually book elsewhere.

Don't spray. Spread a light dusting of Diatomaceous Earth around the bottom of the building. This will stop ants and other bugs without horrible chemicals. It's also cheaper then poisons. Just a light dusting. It won't hurt animals including humans. Only bugs. Don't need a large amount. Promote the off-grid benefits by using natural remedies. Please.
@TheDoerDuo24 күн бұрын
We have actually tried this in the past and it didn’t work in controlling the vast amounts of ants that we get here. We’re all for natural alternatives if they work otherwise we have to deal with guests that have a less ideal experience and we don’t want that.

I love my maple syrup but wonder if all the wood burned was worth the pollution wld be better to use hydro or solar tht was a lot of wood for 4 gallons
@TheDoerDuoАй бұрын
Not sure how you can make maple syrup with hydro or solar and it’s very cost prohibitive for most people. We only do it once a year for personal use. Also, If you eat meat (which we don’t) then you’re contributing to pollution more than anything else on this earth. Choose your battles I guess.
@wizard3z868Ай бұрын
@TheDoerDuo as for the solar and hydro I mean you can smelt steal with electricity and most of us boil water with electricity so ya i cant imagine being able to boil sap. and after thinking about it burning would create natural by products that nature wld need so it might be a neutral effect. And the fact that you do it for your benefit dosent matter if everyone else dose it. But it's true got to pick your battles 😊 and the fact you don't eat meat means a farmer has to kill every living none plant in his fields to make a profit. I'm no environmentalist myself I burn plenty of wood and charcoal for cooking as well as propane and heat with oil plus waste a lot of electricity generated by coal ,gas and nuclear
