There are 5 hours of cutscenes in the upcoming KCD vs 3 in the previous one so there will be a decent amount of talking for sure. I didn't mind it myself.

I had the same problem at first . I started my playtrough in 2019 when it came to gamepass. I made it to neuhof and to the part were henry drinks with the priest. Then the game became confusing and i didnt play it untill i purchaded it again in mid 2022. Played again and got stuck stopped playing untill a few weeks ago . I finally got good at the combat beat ulrich easily and now i can beat up multiple opponents . I cut trough 4 cumans like they were butter. Progressed to the siege now . I loved the whole sasau/ monastery quest line "all that glitters" 9.2/10 game .its really worth it to keep playing

The monastery quest is the one I couldn't stand, Henry served 10 days in jail is all I am saying... Loved the Johanka part of the "A Woman's Lot" DLC though and all the other quests in the area, I also really liked the surrounding area of the monastery and Sassau. Super diverse compared to Talmberg and Rattay.

I believe Henry and capon get attacked at the beginning and the others are killed and they get locked up and Capon helps Henry get free and then gets into trouble hitting a guard Henry goes to free him and gets locked up too then father Goodman comes and sets them free.

I tried to play the first game but the combat was practically impossible and riding a horse in first person was awful so I stopped and it's a pity I was waiting for a medieval game without wizards and magic.

I can see how that would be the case. But if you stick with it you start to level up. The deck is stacked against you, but the moment you get halfway decent with a bow and practice with Captain Bernard on your sword fighting things get a lot easier. Although for armored opponents maces go bonk and take them down faster. Same goes for axes, they do way more bonk damage than swords and you need that against plate armor. Goes great with the headcracker perk. I'd really encourage you to try again. The horsemanship gets better too as you level up. I found it awkward in the first scene when you escape Skalitz and ride to Talmberg but after a while it becomes second nature. KCD2 is overhauling combat for sure, only 4 sides instead of 5. If you really can't work it the second game should make things more fluid for you I hope!

this teaser looked as much like gameplay as the inquisition's teaser looked like its gameplay. in other words not at all. talk about going crazy about nothing. it was a cinematic trailer. origin also had some really bad teasers. i think people just seem to complain about things or join band wagons of other who are complaining about stuff. how can you watch that teaser and serious believe that was what the game was gonna look like?

If you watched the video you knew I didn’t just jump on the hate bandwagon. Heck, I didn’t even watch what other people had to say when I worked on this video because I like to form my own opinions rather than be influenced by others. Genuine opinions only. The gameplay trailer alleviated a lot and I said that in the follow up video. Naturally that one didn’t get a fraction of the views this video did because negativity sells. I still got my issues with the art direction but this trailer was a monumental mistake and made it look like they aimed the game at the PG13 Fortnite crowd.

The sheer amount of people who were hating just because it was a thing to hate about, including channels who really don't cover gaming unless they can make a few bucks off the controversy is insane. I don't make a dime off my stuff and even if I did I refuse to jump on bandwagons. My opinion is my own and stays my own. If it falls in line with that of others it's simply because I truly feel the same way, not because some person told me to feel that way subconsciously... I've played some fortnite when it wasn't the Free to play online shooter it became and had some fun with it. It just isn't something I really sink my teeth in. Not like Mass Effect, Dragon age or Kingdom Come: Deliverance. You almost start living in those worlds when you play because they are put together so well from a narrative and visual standpoint. Single player narrative driven stories are my jam. Includes FPS shooters as well, enjoyed the wolfenstein reboot games (NOT youngblood) for instance.

You never made it past Talmberg? The game is really slow burn in the start but once you get to Rattay it really opens up. I really like medieval architecture, weapons and landscape though, so it sucked me in pretty quick.

A Demo would be nice just to see if it will run on my aging rig... But as far as fear? The moment they put that 17+ rating out it will be completely gone. It all hinges on that for me. Every DA game had mature themes and that simply wont work with a PG13 rating.

Things change, and you might be right. This is not the DA of old. This trailer was a monumental misstep. But they have told us the game is still going to feature the same messed up stuff as the older ones did. I am with you on the art direction, don’t like it. But the gameplay, from someone who likes mass effect a whole lot, seems fine and fun. If that 17+ rating hits I am buying it.

A piece of advice, do not pre-order the game. Let this title be judged accordingly by the fans on Steam. It is the best way to evaluate it, hopefully by players who have finished it and not by fans who played for 20 minutes and rushed to give it a positive review out of fanboyism

It’s mostly the color palette IMHO. Which goes hand in hand with the different art direction they took. It looks visually stunning though. I hope they will bring things up in the story prior to entering the city so we are told what it is all about.

There are some very solid shots that give off that doom and gloom we are used to. This is just the beginning section of the game, can’t judge the entire thing on it yet. And I am sure they will do a proper release trailer when the date is set that will show a lot more of that.

feels like RPG features are dailed back sadly being more standard "action/adventure" than "action RPG". 1 less party member, doesnt show their HP bars in battles, can't play them as directly, they're barely a presence in combat with mild chip damage. I think none of the enemies attack party members either. They only attack the main character so far which is really odd.

To me it felt very mass effect like. I only used the rotate feature if my character was downed really. And if my tank went down I usually would have zero hope to win that particular fight anyway. This is probably why I don’t lament the loss of that ability. Mass Effect companions do work for sure, and you can direct them to certain areas with a keyboard shortcut on PC. I hope the same control sceme is available. I understand where you are coming from though, they are definitely broadening their horizon and getting more “arcade” like. The story seems to be shaping up well in the 20 minutes we’ve seen and the community council has told us there is some darkness to expect. I am looking forward to it. I mostly play for the story anyway, but it is good to have some fun in the bits between the narrative.

It is shaping up to take the Mass Effect direction for sure and I respect your opinion. It's always bad news when games change too much from their core. And the new DA is taking sidesteps when it comes down to color and art direction for sure. I do like the fact that the game is going to be more streamlined instead of the open world glut that inquisition was, at least that is back to basics. And the world they have shown us so far looks pretty darn good.

I love KCD, the sense of scale is great, one of the best I've seen in an open world game. I mean, when you look at the landscape it looks so natural, just as if you were looking at a picture or something. About characters, and humor, KCD nails it. I remember hating on Capon at first, and trying to kill him so many times, and then I just loved the guy; Henry and Sir Capon's friendship felt so natural after the hunt. This trailer was short, but packed with so many things. I've replayed multiple times, as you say, the humor's back. Also, I loved the detail put into the crossbow loading and firing mechanism. Even weapons have minute details (like engraved pommels, etc.) that other developers would simply not care to put in there, but WHS being into details as they're, they take the time to put them there. There's a lot to talk about, and as the release date gets closer, it will only get better. Thanks for the video, I subscribed. All the best from Chile.

Exactly what drew me in. When I start playing it I assume the role of Henry and forget the world around me for a bit. It is rare for games to get me that deep anymore. Nothing beats getting into a time machine and going back hundreds of years. And I really disliked Hans in the beginning too, that pompous guy. But like you mentioned that friendship just grew organically as the game progressed just like a real life friendship would. Now I love him like a friend and I can't wait for more stories with him. Someone told me that yes. Bummer really, I like Varric a lot! I liked Harding too in inquisition so if they can show me the darkness in the gameplay I am still on board. I'll 100% watch that tomorrow, compile my thoughts and put something out the following day. Really hoping I can put out something positive! BioWare needs a win! Two vs Three companions isn't that big a deal for me since it is the Mass Effect style of doing things. I usually ended up having 2 tanks, a healer and a rogue in dragon age. Guess now it will be 1 tank, 1 healer, 1 rogue.

Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dragon Age: Inquisition were both built in Frostbite... Dragon Age: The Failguard is also made with Frostbite. At least the upcoming ME game will be done in Unreal 5

Cinemas are empty because people don't want to waste money to go sit and watch a movie where it can be ruined by people who have never been taught to be quiet and respectful. I learned about dragon age when my brother in law was playing the brood mother quest. Talk about an introduction right there... I pretty much bought it next day and loved it. Today's 15 year old is obsessed with streaming and winning big in the eyes of others. A single player game just doesn't do that for them.

BioWare or EA doesn't care about day one fans.. it's definitely not for those eho played Dragon Age Origins back in 2009. If it'll look like THIS I am done. I am not a kid, if I want to play Fortnite I would play it... It's not Dragon Age anymore.

I’m getting Andromeda vibes a more lacking story with more focus on combat based on the leaks it seams they overhauled the old style for something similar to mass effect 2/3 and andromeda. As we know the more modern audiences couldn’t care less about the story rather than more engaging combat

I remember the Andromeda trailer coming out and the facial animations being all hosed up. Being objective here: They (the facial animations) are on point in this trailer. They aren't bad at all. It's just the art direction they took. Can't even call it an evolution anymore. It is a re-imagining. And I fear the PG13'd art style is also going to move into the gameplay and storyline. I just look at the old trailers and go: We need more of that please... Way more of that... This was way too light hearted.

There are 5 hours of cutscenes in the upcoming KCD vs 3 in the previous one so there will be a decent amount of talking for sure. I didn't mind it myself.

I had the same problem at first . I started my playtrough in 2019 when it came to gamepass. I made it to neuhof and to the part were henry drinks with the priest. Then the game became confusing and i didnt play it untill i purchaded it again in mid 2022. Played again and got stuck stopped playing untill a few weeks ago . I finally got good at the combat beat ulrich easily and now i can beat up multiple opponents . I cut trough 4 cumans like they were butter. Progressed to the siege now . I loved the whole sasau/ monastery quest line "all that glitters" 9.2/10 game .its really worth it to keep playing
The monastery quest is the one I couldn't stand, Henry served 10 days in jail is all I am saying... Loved the Johanka part of the "A Woman's Lot" DLC though and all the other quests in the area, I also really liked the surrounding area of the monastery and Sassau. Super diverse compared to Talmberg and Rattay.
This game is a gem
KCD1 absolutely was. From what we have seen KCD2 is shaping up to be as good, if not better.

Same... Hoping on a release date in a future update. I am going to be needing some time in advance to ask off work. Because this is definitely one of those games.
I believe Henry and capon get attacked at the beginning and the others are killed and they get locked up and Capon helps Henry get free and then gets into trouble hitting a guard Henry goes to free him and gets locked up too then father Goodman comes and sets them free.
One of my theories is still being able to play as Godwin for a bit while you find Henry and Hans. I love how many takes people can have on the same footage. Can't wait to play though it!
Father Goodman and I think Sir John that's from the prolong ending. Then there's Jan a master's swordsman that trains Henry.
I tried to play the first game but the combat was practically impossible and riding a horse in first person was awful so I stopped and it's a pity I was waiting for a medieval game without wizards and magic.
I can see how that would be the case. But if you stick with it you start to level up. The deck is stacked against you, but the moment you get halfway decent with a bow and practice with Captain Bernard on your sword fighting things get a lot easier. Although for armored opponents maces go bonk and take them down faster. Same goes for axes, they do way more bonk damage than swords and you need that against plate armor. Goes great with the headcracker perk. I'd really encourage you to try again. The horsemanship gets better too as you level up. I found it awkward in the first scene when you escape Skalitz and ride to Talmberg but after a while it becomes second nature. KCD2 is overhauling combat for sure, only 4 sides instead of 5. If you really can't work it the second game should make things more fluid for you I hope!
you need to learn the combat mechanics first in order to have some fun out of it thats the point of the game

I had the same problem at first but the whole game involves learning the skills as your just a lowly peasant,it’s one of the best games I’ve ever played,stick with it😊

Same thing I did when they did the reveal trailer. I already had the base game but never got the DLC. Less than 10 bucks to complete the package at the time. An amazing value IMHO! KCD2 is a day one game for me for sure.

this teaser looked as much like gameplay as the inquisition's teaser looked like its gameplay. in other words not at all. talk about going crazy about nothing. it was a cinematic trailer. origin also had some really bad teasers. i think people just seem to complain about things or join band wagons of other who are complaining about stuff. how can you watch that teaser and serious believe that was what the game was gonna look like?
If you watched the video you knew I didn’t just jump on the hate bandwagon. Heck, I didn’t even watch what other people had to say when I worked on this video because I like to form my own opinions rather than be influenced by others. Genuine opinions only. The gameplay trailer alleviated a lot and I said that in the follow up video. Naturally that one didn’t get a fraction of the views this video did because negativity sells. I still got my issues with the art direction but this trailer was a monumental mistake and made it look like they aimed the game at the PG13 Fortnite crowd.

The sheer amount of people who were hating just because it was a thing to hate about, including channels who really don't cover gaming unless they can make a few bucks off the controversy is insane. I don't make a dime off my stuff and even if I did I refuse to jump on bandwagons. My opinion is my own and stays my own. If it falls in line with that of others it's simply because I truly feel the same way, not because some person told me to feel that way subconsciously... I've played some fortnite when it wasn't the Free to play online shooter it became and had some fun with it. It just isn't something I really sink my teeth in. Not like Mass Effect, Dragon age or Kingdom Come: Deliverance. You almost start living in those worlds when you play because they are put together so well from a narrative and visual standpoint. Single player narrative driven stories are my jam. Includes FPS shooters as well, enjoyed the wolfenstein reboot games (NOT youngblood) for instance.

The first one really failed to pull me in. I just kinda floated through until I got bored and then everyone tried to kill me because I jumped off of a bridge. Confused I just gave up.
You never made it past Talmberg? The game is really slow burn in the start but once you get to Rattay it really opens up. I really like medieval architecture, weapons and landscape though, so it sucked me in pretty quick.

@@Due2ce I would often just hang out at a creek in the middle of the woods when taking a break to eat during a gaming session. Or just look at the stars at night. The world feels alive when I play it. And looks amazing too. The second one looks like more of the same! And two maps to boot.

To me the trailer was fine but is this DA thought.
It didn't look bad. But it just showed as a fortnite trailer and that sent the complete wrong message. The gameplay was way better!

A Demo would be nice just to see if it will run on my aging rig... But as far as fear? The moment they put that 17+ rating out it will be completely gone. It all hinges on that for me. Every DA game had mature themes and that simply wont work with a PG13 rating.
The way it look, the way the gameplay looked and what garbage got injected and seems to be the main focus now, is making me believe, that this is the last we will see of the DA IP, as its appearing to get even worse than DA2 and completely developed past DA:O Fans, which are the main fanbase of DA and those who would love to buy a proper new installment, but this...nah its obvious whom they cater to and its not us.
Things change, and you might be right. This is not the DA of old. This trailer was a monumental misstep. But they have told us the game is still going to feature the same messed up stuff as the older ones did. I am with you on the art direction, don’t like it. But the gameplay, from someone who likes mass effect a whole lot, seems fine and fun. If that 17+ rating hits I am buying it.

What did you not like about it? That they mass effected it? Anyway, I played DA:O and DA:I on PC.
A piece of advice, do not pre-order the game. Let this title be judged accordingly by the fans on Steam. It is the best way to evaluate it, hopefully by players who have finished it and not by fans who played for 20 minutes and rushed to give it a positive review out of fanboyism
I rarely pre-order unless I was going to buy it anyway. Sometimes you get the bonus to play it a little early and I like that.

Super excited for this! I don't think anyone is happy about not being able to have full control of three party members, but what are you gonna do? Also, the city they are in is Minrathous, a mageocracy, and so the magical illumination looks really cool IMO.
I think the flying castle in the sky should be a dead giveaway the city isn't just a run of the mill place for sure. And you are right, you can't really do a thing about it. The gameplay is going to be the gameplay. Not a big problem for me personally since I am a Mass Effect fan and it feels very familiar to me.
They said they enhanced it for the Livestream. They also said its going to be dark and tragic

That ME3 style entry is their thing now. My first thought is you can tell the writing is different and the combat is Andromeda. I have concerns about ME looking at the general framework. But it should do fine.

My biggest gripe from the trailer is that it looks way to freaking Syfy like seriously if Dragon Age is now Syfy the next Mass Effect will have no aliens or tech just humans in loin clothes flinging their turds at each other.
It’s mostly the color palette IMHO. Which goes hand in hand with the different art direction they took. It looks visually stunning though. I hope they will bring things up in the story prior to entering the city so we are told what it is all about.

@@johnnormington1311 that is probably just that city though. I mean, it had an entire battle station hanging in the sky! Have you seen the stuff on X? There are some very solid shots that give off that doom and gloom we are used to. This is just the beginning section of the game, can’t judge the entire thing on it yet. And I am sure they will do a proper release trailer when the date is set that will show a lot more of that.

@@johnnormington1311 Minrathous was portrayed that way in the comics too, if it makes you think syfy then the magic used by Tevinter is pretty successful if you ask me.
feels like RPG features are dailed back sadly being more standard "action/adventure" than "action RPG". 1 less party member, doesnt show their HP bars in battles, can't play them as directly, they're barely a presence in combat with mild chip damage. I think none of the enemies attack party members either. They only attack the main character so far which is really odd.
To me it felt very mass effect like. I only used the rotate feature if my character was downed really. And if my tank went down I usually would have zero hope to win that particular fight anyway. This is probably why I don’t lament the loss of that ability. Mass Effect companions do work for sure, and you can direct them to certain areas with a keyboard shortcut on PC. I hope the same control sceme is available. I understand where you are coming from though, they are definitely broadening their horizon and getting more “arcade” like. The story seems to be shaping up well in the 20 minutes we’ve seen and the community council has told us there is some darkness to expect. I am looking forward to it. I mostly play for the story anyway, but it is good to have some fun in the bits between the narrative.
@TheDutchTexanGames love mass effect too, it's my fav sci-fi franchise of all time. But I don't want it's watered down rpg elements since 2nd game to also affect dragon age RPG features now as well.
It is shaping up to take the Mass Effect direction for sure and I respect your opinion. It's always bad news when games change too much from their core. And the new DA is taking sidesteps when it comes down to color and art direction for sure. I do like the fact that the game is going to be more streamlined instead of the open world glut that inquisition was, at least that is back to basics. And the world they have shown us so far looks pretty darn good.

There were definitely similarities there, undeniable. But the tone on this was was completely off base for a Dragon Age game IMHO. It was like they had it left over from when they were still pushing for a live service game.

I love KCD, the sense of scale is great, one of the best I've seen in an open world game. I mean, when you look at the landscape it looks so natural, just as if you were looking at a picture or something. About characters, and humor, KCD nails it. I remember hating on Capon at first, and trying to kill him so many times, and then I just loved the guy; Henry and Sir Capon's friendship felt so natural after the hunt. This trailer was short, but packed with so many things. I've replayed multiple times, as you say, the humor's back. Also, I loved the detail put into the crossbow loading and firing mechanism. Even weapons have minute details (like engraved pommels, etc.) that other developers would simply not care to put in there, but WHS being into details as they're, they take the time to put them there. There's a lot to talk about, and as the release date gets closer, it will only get better. Thanks for the video, I subscribed. All the best from Chile.
Exactly what drew me in. When I start playing it I assume the role of Henry and forget the world around me for a bit. It is rare for games to get me that deep anymore. Nothing beats getting into a time machine and going back hundreds of years. And I really disliked Hans in the beginning too, that pompous guy. But like you mentioned that friendship just grew organically as the game progressed just like a real life friendship would. Now I love him like a friend and I can't wait for more stories with him. I am in the wait and see camps. I’m my experience with both mass effect and dragon age cinematic trailers and gameplay are very different. (Except maybe andromeda) One way or another we will know tomorrow

Someone told me that yes. Bummer really, I like Varric a lot! I liked Harding too in inquisition so if they can show me the darkness in the gameplay I am still on board. I'll 100% watch that tomorrow, compile my thoughts and put something out the following day. Really hoping I can put out something positive! BioWare needs a win! Two vs Three companions isn't that big a deal for me since it is the Mass Effect style of doing things. I usually ended up having 2 tanks, a healer and a rogue in dragon age. Guess now it will be 1 tank, 1 healer, 1 rogue.
I was immensely disappointed. Been a fan since before DAI and this trailer just felt like slap to the face. None of the characters are intriguing to me, not a single one, complete opposite to all previous games.
I truly think this is because of the way they presented them to us. They used a fortnite style introduction geared towards tweens instead of the mature way of previous games.

Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dragon Age: Inquisition were both built in Frostbite... Dragon Age: The Failguard is also made with Frostbite. At least the upcoming ME game will be done in Unreal 5
Yup... Hoping that disconnect means we don't get to enjoy Mass Effect: Fortnite too... But if they change art direction from what they had in engine what's them to stop from doing the same with Mass Effect. Not that it matters, if DA fails we will probably never see Mass Effect...

If this pushes into the gameplay reveal it could very well be... Old Bioware would have never stood for this. This feels like EA's doing.
If you know why cinemas have been pretty empty lately, you have a pretty good idea what's happening to video games.
Cinemas are empty because people don't want to waste money to go sit and watch a movie where it can be ruined by people who have never been taught to be quiet and respectful. I'd rather wait until something comes out on streaming and watch it at home on the 65" where I can relax, have my own snacks and can pause to go to the restroom.
For me, DA and BioWare are dead.
Wait until you see the gameplay footage before you make that determination. This might just be a (albeit monumental) misstep.
