Playing the first game right now. Criminally underrated and what's up with the low metacritic score? Probably buggy launch because the game deserves 90+ score.

I never ran into any noticeable bugs when I played my first stint in 2018. I think most of that low score has to do with the high level of difficulty. The game really makes you feel like a sheltered blacksmiths son (at least in the ways of the sword). Once you level up and train sword fighting and archery get better and enjoyable. But you have to put in the time.

It had bit buggy launch but devs were working on it fast , it is one of the most underrated games out there that's sure. The main guy behind this game is Daniel Vávra who is also responsible for Mafia 1 ( in those times it was amazing game) One of the few developers that are making games to create the best ones possible not the most profitable

Definitely because it's difficult. You can easily miss out on quests and get your ass whipped seven ways to sunday. When I bought it on release I was just an Itty bitty HS freshmen and I couldn't bring myself to finish it. Started up again my junior year and now I'm 20 and am still playing. Honestly a game for people who appreciate history and can deal with more hardcore classic rpg stuff.

It should be this year which makes me very happy! Too many game devs / studios keep leaking stuff for years and year which makes the wait that much more excruciating. And it makes it hard to keep the hype alive. They should be able to drip feed us some new tidbits till the release date quite easily. An interview here and there, some new footage we haven't seen that only expands on the stuff we already know about and not the story. Or not at all since the release is relatively close anyway. But bare minimum we'll get a release trailer when they are confident they can release.

For me it's right up there with Mass Effect. That is my favorite trilogy and I have put in over 400 hours in that world. My last play-through was 150 of that alone doing every side quests I could get my hands on. KCD? Currently sitting at 135 hours, not done with the current play-through and the second game is supposed to be bigger in scope. It might overtake Mass Effect as the game I spent the most time in.

@@TheDutchTexanGames man I loved KOTOR 1&2, jade empire and have always wanted to play the ME trilogy, but never have. Until about 2 years ago and I downloaded the legendary edition of the trilogy and loved every second of it. I’ve played all 3 about 4 times in the past 2 years! Can’t wait for the 4th one, but I really hope they don’t mess it up lol But I’m being completely honest when I say that I have about 3,500 hours into KCD. I looked at all of my playthroughs throughout all of my accounts, and it tallied up to about 3,500 hours lol I absolutely love that game. And it’s all the more crazy that it was made by an independent, kick started studio (at the time). KCD 2 really looks like it’s taking everything good about the first one and making it better!

  • @TheDutchTexanGames

You did yourself a massive favor by not playing Mass Effect till the legendary edition came out. It smoothed the experience in the first game and also brought it in line with the other two when it came down to player models. AND you got all the DLCs with it. So it was a complete package. I got great hopes for the next one but we'll have a decent wait ahead of us unfortunately. And yes, KCD2 is more of the same of KCD1, just better. At least, that is the message the footage is giving me. Can't wait to learn a little more, maybe some gameplay footage, you know... Typical hype building till release later this year. It's going to be good!

Tereza shouldn't be in this game, because they stated repeatedly that Rataje, Skalice and the whole region around it (Posázaví) won't feature in the second game. They haven't explicitly state that Tereza won't be in the game, but the only way for her to appear would have been if she travelled to Kutná Hora or Trosky, which sounds quite unrealistic.

@@TheDutchTexanGames Thats 21st century American thinking. Unmarried peasant women in 15th century Bohemia didn't make long trips like that unless accompanying their male relatives, and that only if the situation was extremely important (one of the exceptions was a pilgrimage to holy sites), not to mention that she has a homestead to run. Yes, the devs could probably create a convoluted reason for her to travel to Kutná Hora but it wouldn't make much sense from the gameplay point of view either: they want the player to have as much free range with Henry as possible (remember the "Lover" epithet from trailer?), Tereza's presence would have hindered him gameplaywise.
