    Your compromising the core weight of the load further from your center of gravity with that airflow, but not by much, this looks amazing thank you

    I own this pack and great little pack. Good for a day hike if you don't need to carry a lot of gear. Excellent quality.

    Do you ever have a hard time with the straw not tightening all the way with the filter??? I've been using mine without a filter it tightens fine. They are camelbak groove replacement filers and for some reason it won't screw on air tight I can fit my nail in between. The straw lacks suction unless all the way full because it wont tighten all the way. Sucks cuz the filters aren't cheap... Is there maybe a rubber piece I'm missing???

    I have the Race Pro 30, ( I ordered a waist bladder last month 2020, ) but have never seen a video on it. Your video is informative as both our packs have similar features! I didn't know the bladder welds were for stopping sloshing.

    why do folks imply the feet are rubber..they are really plastic and very slippery on waterproof maps.

  • @JabezGill
    @JabezGill5 жыл бұрын

    Honestly doesn’t seem very effective. It’s just a piece of plastic with holes in it that goes over your mouth and traps a little bit of the warm air you exhale. A regular jogging mask could do the same thing

    I've had the recycled plastic one for about 10 years! just started to come undone. Unfortunately, I don't think All-Ett makes them with that material anymore.

    I do have a question tho. Once you start a track - how do you stop it once you're done? The start up manual for a three of the 510, 610 and 710 says :lower left menu then it tells you to hit "stop track but the 510 does not have a "stop track" in that menu. It has a "save" is that the same thing? Thanks

    I have a turqouise model that is at least 5 years old, still going strong, my favorite piece of ground camping equipment. I pack it just in case I find no trees for my long/wide hammock. BTW...mine weighs exactly 2 pounds with stuff sack. I use Leki adjustable poles to put it up. That weight is with all the dyneema cordage used to stake out and sounds too heavy for ultralight camping yet is a good weight to shoot for combined with my ULA Ohm pack and thermarest neoair, my bif three weigh just 6 pounds.This is the sweetest tent I have ever owned. Note that these are now made in the USA...kinda spiffy!

  • @738polarbear
    @738polarbear4 жыл бұрын

    ALL compass declinations are MANUAL. They have to be because declination varies by position . <ONLY electronic compasses are automatic IF they are GPS ,and if you are lost in the deep woods ,GOOD LUCK with electronics,

    The beak vestibule unfortunately is not so easy to deploy if your in the tent, say when it's raining. They should have used a zipper on this instead of the Velcro. I may add a zipper to mine, in the near future.

    I just received an Alpin compass two days ago. I've only had time to play around with it at home in yard or around the neighborhood. First impression is that it well made. It just has a feeling of quality about it. I'd put it in the same class as the Suunto from Finland or Silva Sweden compasses. A few comments: The compass in the video is the Alpin Metric sighting compass model. I have the model that is just listed as the standard Alpin Sighting Compass at the compass store website. It is not shown on the kanrusa website. It has different map scales than the one in the video. This model has 1: 24000 ( 1 in. = 2000 ft) and 1: 63630 ( 1 in = 1 mile) map scales at right angles to each other. At first glance they look like UTM roamer scales, but they are not. They are just mileage scales, they don't fit the UTM grid squares on 1: 24000 scale maps. The 24000 scale measures .5 mile and the 63360 scale measures 1 mile. It was priced a buck fifty higher than the Metric model. ( there is also an Alpin Mils model, same base as the Metric model, only the compass module is marked in 6400 mils, not 360˚ .If you're in the USA you probably don't want the Metric model since the standard 7.5 minute USGS maps are standard 1: 24000 scale. However, you can order 1: 25000 and 1: 50000 scale topo maps at mytopo. By triple point sighting system they, I assume, mean the combination of the sighting point in the open square in the cover, + the slot in the mirror, + the v-notch in the top of the cover. K&R hypes the Triple sighting system on their webpage, but they don't explain what it it. Once you go outside and sight some azimuths with it you figure it out. And I found it works well. Aligning all 3 + seeing the pivot of the magnetic needle centered to the mirror slot I get very accurate azimuth reading that agree to within 1 degree of readings I get with a Silva Expedition 54 prismatic or a Commenga 3H lensactic compass ( converting mils to degrees) . I think it would be helpful if they had also put a v-notch in the cover catch, so it could be used to improve sighting when the compass is fully open and flat. If the v-notch existed you could align it with the bezel index pointer, that sticks up just a little higher than the bezel. This would be good enough sighting when the the greater accuracy of the tilted mirror is not needed. And it would be more accurate than non sighting compasses. I may take a small jewelers file and make my own notch. I have seen some reviews that stated the degree scale was difficult to read or obscured by the index needle. I do not agree. I am old enough that my sight isn't what it used to be and the high contrast of black numbers on the white bezel I find very easy to read. The luminescence of the sight lines and bezel is quit bright. I find the north end of the mag needle kind of hard to see in the dark as it is much dimmer. However. It might be fine if I stayed in the dark over 30 minutes to really adjust my eyes to night vision. On the cover are two columns of numbers for : Winkel ( Angle ) in degrees crossed to Steigung ( slope) % gradient. But this is also the tangent of a right triangle. In some navigation situations this can be used to determine distance off. So it is not just helpful for measuring the slope of the hill side. I find it a little weird that the numbers on the cover are upside down when it is opened and flat on the map, but it is fully readable. And it is a bit weird that the numbers on the metric and inch rulers on the sides are inverted in relation to one another. On the two compasses mentioned above the numbers on both are aligned in the same direction. As for Tank35's question asking if there is a southern hemisphere model. I was curious myself. I posted the question to the K&R staff at their German webpage a week ago. But thus far no answer. Maybe the answer will come later. I worked for years for a Dutch company with divisions in Germany. The people in Europe are off work from the middle of Dec till after New Year. The companies operating with skeleton staffing. Maybe an answer will come in January after full staffing returns to work.

    Why do you spray on so much water and wipe it in before, but in the after you gently spray on less and don't touch it? That says more against the product than anything.
