Good review. Good job on putting the wheel on a real rig. Others put it on a wobbly desk or table then complain about it even more. I'm sure it's a better experience on a cockpit rather than a desk and office chair. I understand most would probably do it that way but rigs today costs very cheap or you can just make one and have some fun. Maybe more fun than those sim snobs constantly chasing the dragon.

Best Thrustmaster wheel I own and tried. Currently I have 5 of them and I ain't using any of the others anymore on my T818. I might use the R383 sparco once in a while but 98% of the time I will be using the Ferrari rim

Honestly, the build quality of the pedals are good but functionality I thought they were pretty bad. I upgraded from the G923. I will say the pedals on the G923 felt considerably better in game than the Moza did out of the box they just floated with no resistance at all.

Wow this is in a sim? I have the real car and tbh you don’t feel what I think you are seeing in the sim. The rear steps out a lot easier if you trail brake into corners… 😅
Wow, thats pretty cool! I actually used to work at a track a few years ago, working on radicals and miatas. I did track side repairs for these things when they were in the late prototyping phase. They used to drive like sized up gocarts for the longest while because they were getting most of their test drive data from cart drivers, its cool to see that a sim version of it is doing really well!

There is a gt3 mod by eec and they also made a bunch of tracks including Spa and Nordschleife
Hey, i was just wondering, how do you get the camera to pan and change when you load the car into the game? When i load in, the camera just stays in one position. Any help would be very much appreciated, have been searching for it for hours. The dynamic camera at start happened a few times, and then it just became static the next few times i started the game up again.

I bought both the Ferrari 499P and the mentioned VRC Pageau, and you are spot on IMO. The Ferrari is a little more forgiving, still fun, but the Pageau gets the prize. I just love the sound of the Pageau also. Great video! :)
I just built myself a new gaming PC and installed LMU and ACC. Did quite a few practice laps in all 3 classes and ran 2 races in Hyper car in LMU and so far, I'm digging it.
This is a great review of VBOX, but how do I know where to gain time if I'm only comparing to my own laps? Is there any database with laps from other fast drivers that I could pull up and compare to(basically like VRS' data packs) or is only stuff you record yourself?

This is probably my favourite sim out of the box, visuals, audio, gameplay... makes me sad they canned their indycar game! I want more games on this exact engine. Wish codies games were like this.
Hey some tips for you on the ferrari: - at the start of the race set your battery deployment nice and high for the first half of the lap to help drain battery a bit, that spin happened because you went on the brakes when your battery was 100%. - the optimal shift RPM for the ferrari is very early, about 7800 RPM. The ferrari's stralightline speed is not great so you can lose tenths upon tenths during a lap if you upshift at 8100 RPM like you were here. That's why the other cars were beating you on the straights. Go on the brakes hard and late, ferrari has the best brakes in the game and its one of its main strengths. The ferrari's advantage in a race is its late braking and excellent corner grip, paired with its very low fuel consumption due to its low optimal shift RPM. hope the above helps

If you want to control the spin on it tighten the anti roll bar, it's very slippy and loose in all of the setups. Also the dampers, when there's 4 adj on the front and back I like on the rear, cuz that's where the spin is, low and high, l h l l, so like 4 10 4 4, and for the front the opposite works on most cars so 10 4 10 10 10 on the front, but didn't do that in this game, sometimes it doesn't work. As far as the full battery, I suppose that's correct also.

Ferrari is the easiest car to handle. Try fixed online and compare between Ferrari and the rest.

Nice! I notice you are using the Logitech DD wheel. Can you share your settings for AC along with any content manager settings for ffb or ffb tweaks section
The spin on the first lap is most certain due to the full battery, the 499P do regen/deploy on the front axle and if the battery is at 100% it doesn't regen and help with your braking, which means your brake balance is skewed towards the rear and the car wants to spin out on you.
Battery indicator is the long green bar going up and down on your wheel

You have to regulate your use of the battery throughout your whole race, but most importantly when you put you have to make sure you have battery to pull away, otherwise your stuck and end of race
in this game and IRL the battery doesn't provide extra speed the cars are capped at 670 hp so the hybrid is used for fuel efficiency

Hi Mike You're battery gets full going up the hill so your brakes lock, you need to use more KWs of battery start if lap so all your braking power goes into regen

I did know Pyyer's extensions but not ClimaxF1, thanks ! By the way did you try some TreeFX mods? they replace the classic "2D" trees with 3D ones. It has a cost on performance but adds a lot of immersion, particularly in VR.
Does Pyyers patreon extensions impact frame rate? I'm on the limit with some tracks like Le Mans with my Potato PC? and has some of the issues with Grandstand crowds not showing been fixed? ClimaxF1's mods are awesome! Great vid again Mike. Cheers!
