That was the IER C7 Corvette Daytona Prototype. I remember you did a video on it some years ago. Saw that car at Belle Isle park back in 2016 during IMSA Sportscar race. It sounded sooooo good and looked beastly!!
Thats my kind of prototype racecars :)

Yeah, it’s very interesting and fun!
Now comes with a boat load of skins from overtake to run single make championships. If you keep sliding around on corner exit mid power i suggest you turn tire blankets on in content manager if you don't want to run several installation laps. When the tires are heated right its a pure racing machine
I must confess to being slightly confused by your video title, Mike. Cos if this is truly a car mod that is "A Prototype Designed to Smash Lap Records"................... Then shouldn't the F-MAN be driving it instead, hahahahaha. Just (Aussie) stirring of course Mr SimRacing604 - another great video of this very interesting MOD. ; )))

Thanks Michael! I think I might be able to take F-Man at this point… maybe less content by him means less practice?
hey, nice video as usual, what skin or Silverstone version is this one? thanks

Long story short: it doesn't. Completely different beast.
Both this and the IER P13b are superb cars and great fun to drive. But loading up a grid of them to race against causes big problems with the AI not making it off the start line as they tend to spin out on cold tyres. Also check out IER's Oreca FLM09 it's absolutely brilliant and a car with true character and quite unique in the world of AC cars.

Nearly a 25min video and no mention of the heavy steering in the car mod. ?????????

how do you adjust your camera to be so close up to the dash? like your depth of field
@SimRacing604

It’s a native AC app, called “Onboard” I believe. Mouse over to the right side of the screen to access the apps in game once you start driving, then find the helmet icon and you can adjust the position from there.
Steering is very heavy in this car mod. Not sure whether to hate it or love it. Is it suppose to be heavy? My FFB in game is 64%
@nativerezmedia

Doesn't AC have per car FFB? Set it and forget it.
@ajaopify
Ай бұрын
@@nativerezmedia I wouldn’t say set it and forget it, there’s gain control in CM that, for me, I adjust if I’m driving a GT, F1 or prototype etc. I leave my DD1 @ 50% normally.
@nativerezmedia
Ай бұрын
@@ajaopify yes, I leave my gain on my Simucube sport at 70% in CM. But when I'm on track, per car, I set my FFB from 60-120% depending on the car.
@tabs1913
Ай бұрын
You're meant to use "Output real forces to steering wheel" option for this car. Find it in Content Manager>Settings>Custom Shaders Patch>FFB Tweaks. Check the box called 'Active' and also set the wheel peak torque to match that of your wheel.
@ajaopify
Ай бұрын
@@tabs1913 That’s a good heads up. I don’t remember if that came checked by default or I was instructed in the original tutorial to check it but it’s checked there. I didn’t give it much thought but did sense that effect was obviously happening. I’ve experimented with my wheel gain software and CM gain set the same but still end up tweaking in CM. I’ve read that Fanatec, recommends keeping your DD at 50% and boosted media, suggests 50 or 60%. - that’s generally worked for me. That strategy may be more relative to the older technology of my DD1 though. However, if I go into a different game it seems easier to deal with the gain within the new game that way. I don’t know, that may be wrong. IER sent me the link to buy this car but I haven’t bought it yet.
Am I the only one having big problems with the automatic gearbox, which gets stuck in 2nd and doesn't want to switch to 3rd ? As it's encrypted no way to fix it myself, let's hope an upgrade will solve that problem(

The guys behind it are real engineers that work with real race cars data on track, Google IER simulations, they're not your average enthusiast with some software skills importing the model from another sim while making some tweaks here and there.
