The thing I hate most about these games is the lack of mouse support for in game menus. 14 years, still waiting. It's a slap in the face to all PC users.

Yes, that is a recurring frustration with every new release for me as well. It reminds me every time that this is nothing more then a quick and easy console to PC port.

Thanks F1SimRacing604 for your up front thoughts of this game. Kind of in tune with other reviewers of F1-24. If I get the game it will be on a deep dive sale price at the end of the year or until F1-25 is about to come out. I currently have F1-22 and F1-23 and enjoy them with VR support. I got both of these games on a STEAM Sale price. I am also not a F1 Fanboy. Just like a variety of racing games to trry. Main changes I look for in these F1 games are there any new tracks or cars to try not in previous versions. I don't do Career modes. Take care.

Mike! Curious as to why you didn't race in cockpit cam seeing that 99% of your reviews have that POV. Keep on keeping on! ;-)

Because it gives you more vision to be able to see wheels etc. It's silly everyone goes on about simulation blah blah blah and still use this veiw it's stupid

I'm not the biggest F1 fan anyway, Mike. But the biggest turnoff for me - is hearing that there STILL? is no mouse support within the game - unbelievable (to me) in 2024.

My veiw on it is what do people expect from a yearly release it's not like they can remake the game every year or do groundbreaking updates every year people need to pick one or the other a yearly game or a game that has major changes each release and wait 2-3 years per game

The replay tv cam a have two sound files. Like grandprix 2-3...

I will never understand why people spend thousands on a sim racing setup to make it look and feel immersive like you’re in the car…….then have the camera view on anything other than cockpit view?!? Then have the audacity to moan about handling 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@TheKing-vb2bw To be honest, in today’s sim racing market, there are ways to get the F1 experience without having to settle for mediocrity.

In the end, the game is targeted at console gamers and mainly game players using hand controllers. The game has updated car liveries and tracks. This game is not sufficient for most PC sim racers.

Great video Mike. These are fun games for what they are, but EA is now legendary for the yearly cash grab with all their sports titles. Very little innovation year over year all in the attempt to drain you of your currency of choice. I'm patiently waiting for AC Evo. God bless and race on 🏁

Not tempted - I bought F1 23 last year, and there just aren’t enough differences to justify a purchase.

I usually end up buying the game when it's at a stupid price, but this year I'm not even sure I'll bother with that, given how awful the handling changes seem to be. Other than that, we get the same tired old issues year after year; no mouse control, no proper widescreen support, extremely poor VR support that barely works at all. And on it goes. End of the day, the only way to make a point here is not to buy it. But it will make zero difference, as the serious simmer has never been the target market here. All rather depressing actually.

So they need to release the «update» to ruin F1 23 to make You buy this…

I like this guy: direct and straight to the point: I like it and subscribed! 🎉 Don’t support EA by buying this yearly trash: you know something is clearly wrong when they spend more time and money on marketing fluff “verbally bluffing and trying to convince you about their so called reinvented physics and showing off what’s new” rather than focusing on making a better game. Let’s face it: these so called yearly updates (which they don’t do any cuz the game practically looks identical for the past five years… or even worse) pale in comparison especially when you compare this game to the other sim racing games on the market. EA should seriously just focus on upgrading F1 23: add numerous new tracks and introduce historical ones, add music, add VR features, overhaul and add more detail to the old tracks, add tons of liveries and retro cars, add numerous weather effects and damage physics, add mouse support, add co-op and team play options, fix the sounds, add more night racing effects etc etc It seems that they are prioritizing console controller support which is completely unacceptable in this day and age of sim racing. Call it ultimate F1 or whatever but EA should be ashamed. AMS2 on the other hand should replace EA, is one of those solid games that deserves to be the new F1 series with all the licenses etc.

Na the handling is awful. I was really hoping that F124 would build on 23s handling model, but its terrible.

Within the first 2 minutes you can see how twitchy the cars are. Very unrealistic characteristics.

Shitty driving model. Still arcade than SIM.
