It would be amazing to see Dune part 3 Showing the planets being destroyed " lead them to paradise " And the holy war as referenced by Jessica. If that is not included the movie is mostly gonna be a slow burn. Basically will be about love and betrayal

But I can't agree with that Leo Dicaprio in Titanic. The movie Titanic was great, of course, but I have to admit that I didn't like either Jack or Rose. I can't explain it, but somehow I didn't even like Leo as Jack.

I wonder if Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson could be involved in this new script to make sure it stays with Frank Herberts original vibe.

Paul has to have his downfall but they should continue with Chani fighting him at least at first. They should also just skip 20 years instead of 12. Spice has geriatric properties so they won't have to age anyone up or down but at least the Alia/Hayt storyarc isn't gross.

The ending of DUNE was already altered by Villeneuve, So thinking that Villeneuve keeping to the story line DUNE Messiah is really just a guess. Verhoeven ruined StarShip Troopers; so there is a huge range of possible adaptions.

yeah but the good guys weren't the good guys in the way they acted when they took Lucy's father. no need for that brutality, just take hostages and take the father and leave. once again in movies idolatry of presumably "heroes" that break morality. association of corporate greed and corruption with capitalism in general as a dichotomy . many propaganda elements, seems like hollywood doesnt learn it's lesson

Spoilers: I saw “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.” Major continuity discrepancies make it difficult to see how Fury Road could take place. For a prequel, it totally destroyed the chances for Fury Road to occur. In Furiosa, all vehicles are destroyed except for one barely functional, gas-depleted car. Dementus completely destroys Gastown, eliminating all gasoline, and also obliterates Bullet Farm, leaving no bullets. The War Rig is abandoned at Bullet Farm, lying on its side by the gate, wrecked and unable to break through. How on earth did they get another one at the Citadel? At the end of the movie, Furiosa is seen approaching Dementus under a fully grown tree and picks a peach from it. Considering it takes 6-8 years for a tree to bear fruit, she must have been at the Citadel for 6-8 more years(???). With no vehicles, gasoline, or bullets, Fury Road seems impossible. George Miller, the writer and director of Furiosa, forgot what the last movie was all about when he made this one.

Not having Baron Harkonnen killed by a 2-year-old and fully prescient Alia was a smart choice as she was the cringiest part of the 1984 Dune movie. However, shortening the time Paul was with the Fremen from 2 years to 6 months and cutting out the first child he had with Chani being killed during the assault on Sietch Tabr was not. Paul's transformation from follower to leader doesn't feel as earned, and it lowered the emotional stakes of his duel with Fayed.

Some things I liked in the 1984 film they didn’t do here is Alia being real creepy and using the voice. Then, Paul using the voice on Lady Mohaim felt better in the old film

Newest dune part 1 was better than 1984 part 1 but 1984 part 2 was 100 times more exciting. Seems like these days movie remakes are left open for mini series!

Uhhhhh, 1984 part 2, like uh...nope. there was a redux, where it was extended to three hours, but no part 2, there was a tv mini series in 2000, 2001 which was faithful to the novels dune Dune Messiah and children of dune... Is that the one?, with Susan Sarandon

Men built this world. 99% of everything novel that has ever been created or invented has been done by a man. I'm just not interested in 'non-men victim/hero' tales. The same thing for the Fall Guy. Emily Blunt was not a credible director character, it was super annoying. I hear everybody whining about ticket prices, but AMC A-list is $23 month for 3 movies a week. I don't want girl boss movies. I don't want unwarranted/unworthy non-male leads, but this is typically what I keep getting. If it wasn't for AMC A-list subsidizing my movie attendance, I wouldn't go.

The movies sucked out 80% of the plotting and intrigue from the books. Hollywood bought a classic old book, designed a beautiful cover, sold the cover, and threw out the book.

the changes left a bad enough taste in my mouth to pretty much sour part 2. north and south, evil jessica, completely different chani, comic relief stilgar, no spacing guild, no dinner party, no real exploration of who the fremen were other than being ‘arab muslims’, i didn’t feel just how valuable water actually is there. personally i didn’t much care for zendaya performance either. i like part 1 for the most part and i really wanted to like part 2 but some of the changes fundamentally altered some of the things i loved so much about the novel.

I re-watched it last night and something didn't sit right with me about the ending. Paul spares the emperor's life and considers the life debt paid, as is even stated by Irulan, but that wasn't true. When Feyd destroyed Sietch Tabr he instantly incurred a life debt himself, so standing for the emperor in combat didn't wipe both slates clean. Therefore the emperor got off light.

It would be a huge mistake to remake The Prisoner. It was of it's time and had a meaning relating to the era in which it was set. No doubt Mr McGoohan would be laughing at Nolan for being unable to be independently creative. Why not make something original, if he is able.

On one hand I love the cinematics but I feel like the character progression is severely lacking. I get denis wanted a more realistic viewpoint but considering it's the year 10000 even the mundane should seem supernatural. I mean take Paul he drinks the water of life and what really happens he gets clearer precog and maybe stronger mind suggestion through the voice... it's anticlimactic. Point is there's isn't really any ascension other than self assurity from what he already possessed before. And I feel that most characters are in the same scheme of progression in the movies. You have the hardships but in the end essentially you get the same one dimensional characters.

Am I the only one who hates the narrator's, well, narration? Overexaggerated KZread voice over cadence where they always end the sentence in a down timber, plus the intentional low creak of the voice when he does this completely takes me out of an otherwise interesting video. Sorry, but I can't be the only one tired of this type of narration

Just finished reading Dune Messiah, This is not an "epic action" novel. It is a story of plotting and intrigue. More about fulfilment of the visions. Some new "exotic" type characters. Very little detail of the battles of the Jihad. Without a lot of embellishment on that it wont sell a lot of tickets. Also too much detail left out of the first two to make the third understandable if one hasn't read the books. Just my thoughts

This might sound strange, but I saw Willy Wonka before I saw Dune part two and I was really impressed with his performance in that movie. I went into it thinking my childhood was about to get ruined, but he actually put his all into this silly musical and I respect that. And then to just COMMAND that room of Fremen!! What a turn! If you just listened to the sound of his voice from both movies, you wouldn’t believe it’s the same guy. For someone who looks like he might blow away in the wind, his performance had weight. I was ready to Jihad the Great Houses. Dune Messiah will be another test of his abilities but he’s got it. He is the Lisan Al-Gaib

My problem is a simple one. Why won't they just produce the "movie" of the S T O R Y the Frank wrote? Don't rewrite his words with pretty pictures that don't tell his story. Don't make the main actor a Grown Man! But they, at least, got the Worms right.
