My biggest issue with it is that Milza, who is very explicitly presented as Grancrest's equivalent of an Arab, is all the classic anti-Arab racist tropes packaged into one: bloodthirsty, ruthlessly ambitious, fickle, arrogantly self-reliant, and don't get me started on the "thing" that happens between him and Marinne. I still appreciate the rest of the story, but Milza can go die in a hole. He isn't an inherently problematic character. The problem is Grancrest Senki doesn't exist in a vacuum, and when Milza is interchangeable with a lot of the racist caricatures of Arabs out there... We need an FE game of this, music, animation and all. 13:42 - Ideal White is also one of my favourite songs of all time! First one I was ever really obsessed with.

bang braven is the dark horse of the winter 2024 season. and the biggest surprise from 2024 (so far). at the end of ep 1 it took a fucking 180 degree swan dive and just rolled with it. a reason to go in to a anime with zero expectations, to find out it is peak my pick for anime of the year (so far)

I am relieved that I'm not alone with my feelings towards season 2. Season 1 is actually my favorite anime ever, and I was a little disappointed with the follow-up. The chaos, the humor, the vibes... They were all superior in season 1. (But one thing I love about season 2 is that we finally got a whole Steven episode. ❤)

Some corrections: Adachi is NOT emotional, she's only like that WHENEVER she thinks about Shimamura. And people don't really think Shimamura is "Sincere" (She is whenever it involves her sister and Yashiro), three people have already told her that she's a "fake" in three separate ocassions, though I don't really blame anyone for thinking that way, since those happened way later on. No one is helping the other climb out of their shell, Shimamura tried once with Adachi, but well yeah, it didn't work out. As for Adachi, she thinks Shimamura is fine the way she is.

Personally I think the second manga is far better than the anime. Parts of the anime are wonderful especially the music and voice acting. But i think the fanservice makes it almost impossible to watch, some of it is downright vile. I love how the manga got rid of so much of the weird stuff in the early volumes of the Light Novel and it felt less male oriented. Though I often listen to the soundtrack while reading the manga so that makes me happy for the anime cause it captures the essence so well.

Personally no, Adachi is a teenager, one with practically zero experience in anything a kid would normally have. Her being--for a lack of a better word--horny is IMO, VERY realistic. She's *NEVER* liked anyone before, and she skips all those developments and gets straight to the "Fuck, fuck, fuck I LOVE HER!!" phase. And since this is a first, she's *confused* about what she's feeling, and teens go through a horny phase, (at least I think most do), and now that phase has something it can manifest itself to, which is Shimamura.

Noelle shooting away Asta are just gags and aren’t meant to be taken seriously. Also, everything you said in this video is fine with the Mimosa. I like Noelle but the ships aren’t important for me. I think people ship Asta and Noelle more just because they can relate with their troubled childhoods while Mimosa was pampered

At the end of it all you know it was true and genuine love they had for each other. Wrongs were written. But it was love. Real love. When a show makes you sympathetic for a villain, and makes you believe and feel his words and emotions on his death bed, you know the writing and development was on another level. Silco loved Jinx more than anything and was willing to do whatever it took to protect her and keep her safe, at the cost of everything. Jinx loved Silco deeply and was willing to fully embrace herself as Jinx for him. Healthy? No. Broken? Absolutely. But it was unconditional love. They truly tried and at the end, you felt and saw their love and care for each other. They just unfortunately didn’t have the proper toolset to show it in healthy ways because so much humanity was striped from them. Beautifully written and depicted relationship.

I'm genuinely surprised I haven't watched this video until now... it's really good! Ever since I watched kekkai sensen way back in 2016 I've been absolutely blown away by how unique and stylized each episode was from start to finish. The OVA was incredible as well. And I suppose with that in mind, it was a little disappointing to see that THIS is where the show ended up. The constant change in episode directors throughout the season made it feel like there was little to no cohesion or unity between episodes. Not to mention S2 cut out A LOT more essential content from the manga than S1... That's not to say it's all bad though! It's still very much kekkai sensen... just. different from before. If when we do get a season 3 down the line I personally hope Rie Matsumoto is able to come back.. The manga Back 2 Back wrapped up a major arc, and the current manga (Beat 3 Peat) has been incredible with every release so far. So If you ever plan on reading, it's definitely worth it!! Overall, Great job on the video!! Eloquently written!! :))

Surprisingly, I prefer Beyond. My most memorable part is the car chase with the stolen brain in the Gilbert episode, although honestly its mostly for the amazing song.... I also loves the keep away with the presidents head, especially when Leo Screams X STATION X, just to have his brand new console destroyed. And I absolutely love the lock out episode, especially Klaus and Leos teamwork. To me the ending is so-so, its amazing, but as you said for the last video finale, it really rushes Leos character development. This one has better pacing, but Leo legit gets stabbed several times, he's not the type to get up from that, even if he wasn't hit in a vital organ because he used his eyes. I will say Zed loosing his gill breather was my most hated episode as it was just extremely dumb, but at least chain saving the day was good.... I will say Although I prefer beyond, it has both very hype episodes, and some of the worst episodes of the series. ( personally I didn't like the hospital one... but that really shows how bad my taste is).

I'd be interested in watching a video about the controversy surrounding Mushoku Tensei, because I don't know anything about that show or what people think about it, other than I've seen some clips that look pretty. I genuinely love how much of a hater Replay is. He brings much needed context and nuance to everyone's choices. I feel pretty ambivalent all around at everyone's drafts. Based on some of the Episode 1's i've seen, I'm most excited for Train to the End of the World, Astro Note, Loser Ranger, and Wind Breaker. (Eupho is on hold until I rewatch and catch up.) I think by virtue of having Eupho 3 and Wind Breaker, Jack takes it.
