    Have you thought about that maybe you are neurodivergent and your problems with food, alcohol and health anxiety is coming from that...haha cause i am and this is very me and it has been freeing to learn why my brain is like that and my adhd meds have helped with emotional eating and drinking sooooo much. And also have helped with health anxiety too. Just maybe look into it, maybe you will recognise yourself :D

    I try to plant based as much as possible but I do struggle if I go out for dinner on date night with my hubby. If the vegan option is terrible I feel like I don’t want to eat something crappy on the one night I get to get out ( I have 7 kids) . Sometimes I just end up with lots of veggie sides which is a bit boring. ❤

    We occasionally opt for the odd processed vegan option when I can’t be bothered to cook. Most of our meals are cooked from scratch but I recently downloaded the Yuka app and have started to scan all the processed stuff and opt for the better options when we do choose some processed foods. Great video Maddie ❤

    I'm like your mother's age and have had my ups and downs with weight and view of exercise. Suddenly it clicked with me and my attitude toward exercise changed. I do it purely for enjoyment. If you find an exercise that you really love that makes you feel good, you will be consistent. I've found that not only have I become physically fitter, but my mood has stabilized and i feel better about myself. The other point is to adjust the exercise to your condition for each day.

I've been vegan for 8 years and I like to make chickpea omelette too, it looks like a meal we eat in the south of France, the "socca", I use some soy milk instead of water to add more proteins and nutrients, and I sometimes add some tofu and vegan cheese inside, it makes a really high protein meal 😋 My staples are: tofu, homemade seitan, tempeh, tahini, olive oil and I like to always have some mockmeats in my freezer for my lazy meals 😊

    I’ve been vegan for over 40 years. Until very recently, I deprived myself of delicious nutritious meals . in the early days. There was very little offered in terms of recipes and in finding particular food items. Now, with so many young people taking veganism and vegetarianism up it has rejuvenated my interest in eating better more delicious foods.

    I'm vegan and eat tofu at least every second day, tempeh, legumes, loads of veges (not a lot of fruit unless it's summer and then it's all the yummy stuff) faux meat alternatives on occassion and cheese (very expensive here in New Zealand!) love chocolate and ice cream! Since going vegan (about 9 years ago) the increase in range of products has blown my mind! Bali is amazing for vegan food, beautifully created dishes that taste delicious!!

    @@catrobinson6282 I'm not surprised to hear that about Ubud since it's considered the "yoga/spiritual" capital of Bali! My dad spent time mostly in Kuta and also briefly in Canggu, he said he ate at the local warungs (food stalls). Maybe it's different for what's offered at the food stalls vs the restaurants/cafes. I've heard a lot about how Bali is supposed to be amazing for plant based food options, it'd be a shame if meat became a status symbol like it has in many other countries.

    Hi maddie, I really love your content and you are such an inspiration for many! ❤ I only disagree that oil is good and has been eating for so many years doesn’t make it good/ healthy and is still an ultra processed food, especially when it’s heated to high temperatures. For example Olives are healthy I totally agree but to isolate the oil makes it a not natural healthy food, I’m not saying it to criticise you. I only want to say be thoughtful what you promote to such a big audience when saying these things when you don’t know what it does to the human body in the long run that’s all🙂

  • @MadeleineOlivia
    @MadeleineOlivia2 күн бұрын

    But we do know what it does to the human body in the long run! It’s probably one of the most highly studied foods in the world. Here is a consensus: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6770785/ “The Mediterranean diet is considered as the foremost dietary regimen and its adoption is associated with the prevention of degenerative diseases and an extended longevity. The preeminent features of the Mediterranean diet have been agreed upon and the consumption of olive oil stands out as the most peculiar one. Indeed, the use of olive oil as the nearly exclusive dietary fat is what mostly characterizes the Mediterranean area. Plenty of epidemiological studies have correlated that the consumption of olive oil was associated with better overall health. Indeed, extra virgin olive oil contains (poly)phenolic compounds that are being actively investigated for their purported biological and pharma-nutritional properties. On 18 and 19 May 2018, several experts convened in Jaen (Spain) to discuss the most recent research on the benefits of olive oil and its components. We reported a summary of that meeting (reviewing several topics related to olive oil, not limited to health) and concluded that substantial evidence is accruing to support the widespread opinion that extra virgin olive oil should, indeed, be the fat of choice when it comes to human health and sustainable agronomy.”

  • @MadeleineOlivia
    @MadeleineOlivia2 күн бұрын

    www.health.harvard.edu/nutrition/is-extra-virgin-olive-oil-extra-healthy “Regardless of the type, olive oil is high in monounsaturated fatty acids, containing about 75% by volume. When substituted for saturated fat, monounsaturated fats help lower your "bad" LDL cholesterol. The health benefits of olive oil have been attributed to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. In fact, observational studies have shown a link between lower risks of cardiovascular disease, some cancers, and even dementia in people who consume higher amounts of olive oil than those who use little or none.”

  • @LanaLentil

    @@MadeleineOlivia I understand your point of view but have you ever heard of the nutritarian diet by dr.joel furman? He is plant based himself and has a total opposite point of view when it comes to oil, salt, sugar and other highly processed foods, shown with many studies as well! The Mediterranean diet is not a plantbased one and virgin oil is not meant to be heated to high temperatures. I’m totally okay if we disagree on this topic as we both have found studies that prove otherwise! I want you to know that I love your content and will continue to follow your journey 🧡 much love to you!
