It's so true with male comedians! Yes, you can joke about anything but there is a difference between the target of a joke and the subject of a joke! My roommate used to take me to her comedy shows and some of the men that would make "jokes" (thinly veiled bullying) were just appalling... I'm glad you found a good male comedian. Also, thank you so much for everything you share! You are such a role model for me (26, from Canada!) and especially with talking openly about hormones and things that we really weren't taught as girls. Also I'm not vegan, but since following you I have massively reduced my meat consumption and I don't really miss it, it has become more of a treat than a staple in my diet and that is down to you! Thank you for everything you do, Audrey🍁

I used to struggle with fasted workouts as well, I'd feel lightheaded and weak, and having proper breakfast would leave me feeling sick to my stomach. I found out that low volume + high carb before works for me. That way there's not a huge meal sloshing around in your stomach, but your body has a quick energy source to break down to prevent the fatigue. My typical go to is a banana, fruit pouches, or honestly sometimes just a small handful of cereal or a chocolate bar. These probably won't work for longer workouts or heavy cardio, but I usually lift for 45-60 minutes, so it's just fine since I'll have a proper breakfast afterwards.

I find I need to have a bit of carbs in my system before a resistance workout, but I can’t eat a lot or my stomach goes off. I save the protein for after the workout. I, personally, prefer to do cardio first thing in the morning, fasted, but resistance, for whatever reason, I seem to do better if I do it a bit later in the day. I typically don’t eat anything in the evening (it disturbs my sleep if I do) but if I know I’m going to be pushing harder the next day, I will eat something carb focused the evening before. Not a ton, just like a top off. The dress is beautiful and really suits you. Excellent find! The blue on the shed is also lovely. I think you were exactly right to go with it. It seems the blue harmonizes really well with the light there. It looks so fresh now 😊

I completely agree about what you said about comedy. It's true about art in general, I think, and gets to the question of - what is the purpose and function of art? If it is, as I believe it to be, a creative act that moves us forward or more toward light than darkness, then it must never poke at what is vulnerable or marginalized. If it pokes at anything, it should be abusive power and authority. Thanks for your thoughts!

When I work out in the mornings, I have to eat, otherwise I faint which is unpleasant... :') But similarly to you, I'm not hungry when I wake up. You can just have a quick snack: I have a banana with some yoghurt and flax seeds or a bit of peanutbutter and that's usually enough to keep me going and then have breakfast after. Or just make a small portion of overnight oats to have first thing in the morning about 45-30min before the workout so it's not too much food, but enough to give your body some sugar and protein. I hope this helps! :)

Hi Madeleine! Just wanted to say that it is not so bad to feel a bit hungry during a workout.. if you don’t feel hungry when you wake up, you shouldn’t eat because it goes against the intuitive eating. I’m studying about the effect of food on our body and in an evolutionary way our bodies are not used to have food in our stomach while moving, because as predators we were looking for food when we were hungry and we can go long without food. It actually gives your body a bit of an alertness and a boost if you workout on an empty stomach. As long as you feel good enough and don’t overdo yourself. And you can definitely replenish your body with food afterwards. If it feels better to have a little snack, shake or banana for example, surely to that. But don’t be worried about feeling hungry while working out and to challenge your body. Your body will get used to it as well and our bodies can handle much more than you think! 😊

@@MadeleineOliviaYes oh absolutely there are positives. Once you physically can't have it you begin to realize how much sugar is in everything.

Agnus Castus got rid of my PMDD within three cycles (I was seeking NHS help for it before hand and had BAD experiences) I'm not a health practitioner but I would recommend looking into it for anyone with PMDD :)

Alex should be a master baker. He'd give Paul Hollywood a run for his money. The bread and now those crumpets are amazing. He missed his vocation lol xx

While I know there are lots of benefits to supplements, the truth is each person is going to metabolise and utilise each differently. I wish more nutritionists would mention this. I suffered for so long with fibroids and took so many supplements hoping it would help. It’s only when I varied my diet and exercise to the different phases of my menstrual cycle that things felt better. Particularly with exercise, if it’s the week before my cycle I don’t do cardio or raise my heart rate as it’s not helpful to the hormones I need to nurture at that time.

Girl go for Magnesium (for sleep and overall i recommend magnesium glycinate, cause magnesium is not just like magnesium there are so many different ones) and ashwaganda in the evening. it helped with my sleep SO MUCH. and on top, i always suffered SO bad with period cramps, it was not even funny, i was on 6 ibuprofen a day on my second day of my period. and i am not joking, ever since i took my magnesium every night the cramps and pain STOPPED!

I can't work out with a full stomach. If I do eat, it has to be an 1 hour before and only a banana. When I come home, then I'll have a bigger breakfast. Btw, red is your color. Beautiful on you !! LOL

😂😂😂 Yes, english muffins are American. We don’t really have crumpets (not impossible to find but definitely specialty and not carried in the average supermarket ), but those are our version of them. I’ve never researched the history but I wouldn’t be surprised if it came from an American attempt at copying crumpets (you know, those English muffins?) and coming out different . I’m 99 percent sure there is a shared history there. And yes, the classic breakfast at McDonald’s is the egg McMuffin which is sausage and egg on an English muffin. We also use them in eggs Benedict. But also on the side with butter and jam. But all in all, a breakfast bread. I lived in London last year as a vegan and missed crumpets with clotted cream (which I tried years before I was vegan). So my favorite breakfast last year was toasted sourdough crumpets topped with vanilla soy yogurt (instead of cream) and jam, and waiting for the yogurt to seep through the holes. Absolutely delicious 🥰

A very quick google search tells us that English muffins were created by a British expat living in New York City. He sought to create a a thinner, pre-cut crumpet.

I fast until noon or after. Did you know that Kellog the cereal company is the one that popularized the saying ‘breakfast is the most important meal of the day’. They needed people to eat their products! In fact carbs are the worst thing to start your day. They spike your blood sugar and make you crash about an hour later.
