There’s another mall in Hialeah,FL that’s not abandoned like this one with the same name. In 2007, Many people called it Westfield Westland, but they renamed it after owned by a different company of real estate. (2 fun facts:opening year is want we call today and theres a domino section near food court)

I was just there on July 5th, 2024. It's basically an indoor walking track. The three anchor stores, JCP, Dick's, and Macy's, are the only reason to go there. It is interesting that there are several mom and pop stores trying to sell clothing, flags, and knick knacks. I hope these businesses are successful but with so few people shopping it's hard to see how. The common areas are poorly lit but not in disrepair. Maybe turning a portion of it into luxury apartments would help the mall survive.

In Brampton, fireworks are prohibited unless The City of Brampton uses fireworks as part of Canada Day or New Year's Eve.

I grew up in this mall, my mom would do my school shopping at mervyns, and later I worked in three different stores at the mall, and my friend and neighbor worked at the Steve & Berrys right before he passed away. So many movies I watched at the Alamo Theatre, just many memories engrained in my mind.

That whole area of town is ass. I got put into a hotel when a connecting flight got canceled. That place was a nightmare, smelled like armpits, with abandoned hotels on each side of it.

I used to work at the Sears in west oaks mall back in the early 2000s. It's so weird to see it this way now

The center of the mall, with the windows up close to the ceiling gives me Dixie Square Mall vibes, for some reason...

lmfao @ all these NPCs worshipping this mall in place of the future they believed in, not realizing how deeply they've gone astray

And that backrooms kids place I took my son there they used to be a play spot with stuff to climb bumper cars and such. The upper part of the east concourse was restaurants and then I think management or offices and under it all was security with cells to hold people til the cops came but I think that's been walled of too

This was hard to watch having gone here so much in the 2000s as a kid meeting friends at the arcade which no one would even know it was there it was walled off... The subway and Mr corned beef have closed only the West concourse really remains... Amazon really ruined so much it's heartbreaking tbh....

So sorry Nathan about Greenspoint Mall 1977. What a stunning mall. Really sad as the changes were happening it didn't improve bringing mall shoppers back in. Love Dl Swan's music.

One of two malls I would go to as a kid when coming to this side of town in the early 2000s. (Visiting my grandma.) I’ll always remember the arcade here. Playing Tekken Tag, 4, 5, the arcade version of Ballistics. Seeing the mall in the state it’s in now (Along with Almeda, the other one I’d visit.) is sad.

This was so crazy to see. I worked in this mall in 2017 before my store closed down. Even when it was open--there was almost nothing in this mall. Actually crazy. Thank you so much for this video!

theres something so sad about these videos. i always think of how busy these places once were, with families, kids, etc. i cant help but feel that times were simpler where places like this could be appreciated.

Loved this mall in the 80s and early 90s. Did all my back to school shopping here. We came all the way from the southside because all the stores were here (besides at the Galleria). I remember the Lord and Taylor and Marshall Fields (my faves).

Interesting series! A clock showing the time of day might keep a cynic from wondering if you are shooting before stores are open.
