    I have the 2019 with the manual transmission. A few weeks after I bought it they quit offering the manual as demand was down to about 2%. The total truck has been good. People who got the base auto trans had problems with shuddering, bad shifts, and torque converters going bad. Manual transmissions almost always outlive the rest of the vehicle while automatics usually have problems.

  • @user-yo1pk4ky4k
    @user-yo1pk4ky4k6 күн бұрын

    One small thing that would help, and maybe you did this, is to get the transmission up to operating temperature before you drain it. That way any sediment or other cooties would be in suspension and drain out with the oil.

    I have a similar truck with an automatic. It’s a 2016. I have had several problems. At about 25,000 miles, the heater core failed. It spent 2 months with the dealer as they had to replace carpets. Then at 65,000 miles, the oil pump failed. After several trips to the dealer, they replaced that pump. That cost was around $7,000. Other than that, I have enjoyed the truck. I have 76,000 miles after 7 years of owner ship. I figure at 100,000 miles, I will replace plugs and coil packs. Brakes are still in great shape. And I do pull several small trailers that weights under 3000 lbs.

    Great video! I went Saturday the 25th and did really good up by the dam. Some better quality fish - average probably 2lbs. I fish Strike King 6XD's which go about 18-20'. One game changer for me this year has been buying a new trolling motor with auto-pilot & remote control. I can troll slower, I was doing 1 to 1.2 mph whereas with my outboard the slowest I can idle at is 2.3mph.

    I went out yesterday (Friday) for a couple hours and headed up to the top of the lake. I trolled crankbaits at 1.3 mph from that island at 3:00 all the way up to the dam and all along the dam......and didn't get a single hit. I will say that it may have been because when I reeled in I had chunks of grass on the lures, something I've never experienced in the lake before. I had a business call so I wasn't able to make a 2nd pass

  • @DoingDaveStuff
    @DoingDaveStuffАй бұрын

    I have been trolling around 2.6 and have had more luck. Using bandit 300 lures. The grass is likely good for the lake but i do miss the days when you could drag bottom and never have to deal with it.

  • @egomaniac247
    @egomaniac247Ай бұрын

    @@DoingDaveStuff I absolutely agree, I think the grass is good for the habitat & fishing. I'm guessing that the grass is forming because the water isn't as warm as it used to be before they started using the cooling ponds across the street from the lake instead.

    I don't think this would work for a stuck drum, I don't see how you are generating any outward force by tightening the nut. This is effectively the same approach as putting the tire back on and tightening the nuts, but you can kick the tire and you can't kick/pull on your scrap metal piece right?

  • @DoingDaveStuff
    @DoingDaveStuffАй бұрын

    The effectiveness of kicking the tire isn’t good since it applying force to just one side. Plus it’s potentially more dangerous. Using the slide hammer puts equal force to the axle which allows it to come out easier.

    If you want to use the Honda filter, it’s actually cheaper to buy the filter and wrench set rather than buy the wrench on its own - part number: 15010MKR305 That’s for a honda filter AND the wrench. £20.60 here in UK - wrench on its own is stupidly expensive!

    Wanted to let you know you helped me get on the water today. I made the mistake of letting water get in my boat slowly over the winter season. The area it was parked in didn’t allow the water to drain properly. It was a big mess and caused me to have to do a bit of rewiring.
