Keep it up guy you gotta start somewhere and I'm a 29 year old mechanic with about 3 years experience doing electrical work. I love your videos it reminds me of myself when I was younger if only I had the patience to experiment. Keep it up man every great inventer was made fun of in the past. Keep experimenting and keep learning ! Much love man Keep it up

    Wow does this bring back memories. When my son was about your age, we built a coil _very_ similar to this. But we used a 6-bottles-of- beer capacitor and a double spark gap. We did get 22 inch sparks. And we got a glow from a florescent tube all around the back yard. But boy was it scary. The gap was _really_ loud. When beer bottles started breaking, we quit. This was for a high school science fair project that was also a physics course grade. The teacher offered my son an A+ if he would agree _not_ to try running the coil at school. :-)

    I have bought 3 nst. all 3 are 9kv at 30ma I know how and will phase them together well atleast 2 at first...but this will only increase the ma to 90 ( 60ma with 2 ) and it will not increase the volts overall or therefore the arc length....just the power and heat or thickness of the arc? or does phasing them in parallel increases the volts and ma???

  • @linusmadrone
    @linusmadrone Жыл бұрын

    Only amperage! Voltage same. Can't wire nst. s in series for obvious reasons, but if you could, it would increase the voltage.

    If u do it again put an eye bolt on arm and quick release for rope climbing like a pin of grande way more accurate bc they would of ate it like a deaf fall trap but with rope then pulled on dead fall stick releasing counter weight like a trap most accurate

  • @basementengineer29

    It's been awhile, but I do remember that past 130 lb of counterweight, the throwing distance leveled off, probably due to the frame moving too much. We got around 300ft throws of 4 lb rocks using this weight. Not the best trebuchet, but we still had fun with it.
