Welcome to my second channel! Starting in September of 2017, this video functions as a low-key language channel where I upload language learning diaries and other such things.
Thank you for keeping this video up. It has historical significance in terms of comparing Duolingo past to present. I'm writing this in 2024. The Path made things very different. I miss the Tree but continue onwards anyway. I do like the layout here from 2017-2018. The voices were much better than the ones now.

In the sentence "Hij neemt zijn kat mee naar het werk", what does the word "mee" mean? Is it part of the verb "neemen" forming " "meeneemen"? And if this is part of the verb "meeneemen" why isn't it at the end of the sentence? This sentence is tricky. Well, congeats for the amazing videos.

Hello, Tom. I don't know if you still use this youtube channel to teach Dutch, but I became a fan of your videos, specially of your Dutch classes. Would you repeat more the sentences in Dutch on your videos? Mate, honestly, this would help students a lot across the globe. Please help us with pronunciation with sentences and MORE VIDEOS!!! Your SUPERB!

Moi, Tom. Some summers ago I travelled around The Netherlands and out of the blue I heard and saw the words "straat" and "dank" in the streets. That drove me crazy and I realized this language is so similar to English and German. That's amazing to be honest for those who love languages like myself. Then I just saw these similarities on internet and now I'm here just to chill out and ask myself If still have time to learn one more language. Carry on with your amazing videos and teach us more about your northern culture. Moi!

Your lessons are quite helpful tho, I've watched a number of videos on KZread teaching Dutch language, but many are confusion, yours is respectfully understandable. Hope you share more videos like this, many people are interested in learning this one specific language. Looking forward to your next videos ❤

Daar ik ben er eindelijk achter gekomen watching videos on KZread to hear day to day language will be very helpful as well. Vooral je videos zijn leuk!

I just finished the Duolingo Dutch course. I've tested at several online websites that offer "free evaluations" for potential students. I come in at a solid A2 and early B1 level. My advice is to finish the course but do not rush immediately into B1 or B2. Make sure you learn and understand all the grammatical concepts covered in A2. B1 is more about acquiring advanced vocabulary. You'll need to focus on the words and ways to use them. That is a big step forward, which is why you need to understand the grammatical structures well.

I am impressed with the quality of your production and came to search for clarity on the difficult topic of Dutch grammar. It is confusing that you said object when referring to subject however no one else commented on this except in the nomenclature S-V-R and V-S-R. I have subscribed and will learn more from your video playlist. Thank you. I am a novice that is not good at identifying the terms used for grammar in my own language, so the Dutch grammar terms are very difficult to equate to my early childhood English language lessons.
