The big / nature terms isla and San (meaning Saint / St and Santa / Santo) only reflect me, and cannot be misused in names or comments about humnz etc, and ova also cannot be in names because it’s related to hens / eggs and hens / birds are pure animaIs who only reflect me the pure being (the opposite of womyn/humnz) and, big / respectability terms or pronouns like U and Mevrouw / Juffrouw / Dame etc also only reflect me, and such terms also cannot be misused by humnz when talking to / about other humnz - the big / love / food / color related terms like lief / liefje and groen / groentje / groentjes etc and lekker and other big compIiments and royalty / nature / flower / food / fruit / gemstone / power / light related terms etc cannot be misused either (when talking to or about other humnz or about oneself etc) and, big terms like meneer / heer etc only reflect my protectors, and the words vriendin / vrouw and vriend and other love related terms also only reflect me & my protectors, and cannot be misused in any language!

It blows my mind how Dutch people can structure the sentence like that on the fly. I know it is dumb because they live their whole lives speaking it but from an outside perspective it really is amazing. I just hope I can one day get close to this level

@@TomCatchesUp you've covered word order which was great but I still have trouble putting "niet" in the right place. I read a good article about it but duolingo doesn't think I've quite got it yet.

Hmm this is an interesting one, but I'm not quite sure how to approach this. Do you have a few examples of where in a sentence you'd normally put 'niet'? Just so I can see what's going right and wrong and maybe base a video off that.

Glad you liked it! I don't think street language is something I can really cover - my advice is to look for some Dutch hip hop music, that could be helpful? I will do a video about personal pronouns, including formal and informal forms.

@@TomCatchesUp Standard language is more beneficial in so many ways. I'd prefer you focus lessons on that. It enables the student to better adapt in social situations, employment and people who can help them.

Unlikely I'm afraid. I wasn't really enjoying making Dutch lessons. Too much prep and editing, not enough faffing about with cinematography for my liking. So this channel is, for all intents and purposes, dormant now.

I am not an expert and learning it as well, as far as i know if the sentence has preposition (eg voor, over) and there is no object, you have to use waar instead of wat. Just like in your example.

Nice videos, I learn many new words from your videos. I need your help , I have some doubts. I am preparing for Inburgeren A2 1. I see many times a word 'er' but I dont know how and when to use. Same for the word 'nog' . 2. I see oefenen from inburgeren.nl. There is some question from the video and there are three options, I dont know the difference. here are those. 1) A. ik nooit met fiets gaan B. ik ga nooit met de fiets C. Nooit ga ik met fiets 2) A. Mag ik de bon hebben? B. MAg ik hebben de bon? 3. Why don't we use article de or het in the sentense 'ik ben leraar!' so question when to use article and when don't? I hope I explained very clearly my doubts.

  • @TomCatchesUp

Hey, glad you've liked this little series! I can try to help answer your questions: 1. 'Er' means either 'there' or 'here' > 'Wij zijn er' is 'We are here'. 'Er lopen veel mensen' is 'There are a lot of people walking'. 'Nog' doesn't translate super well to English, but can be used for 'still' or 'even' > 'Ik heb nog meer verf nodig' means 'I need even more paint'. 'Zijn we er nog niet?' is 'Are we still not there'? 2. For your second question I recommend you watch my video about sentence structure. It teaches exactly how to build these kinds of short sentences. 3. You use the definite article when you're talking about a specific teacher. You can use the indefinite article, or no article at all, if you're talking about your profession. 'Ik ben (een) leraar' means 'I'm a teacher'. 'Ik ben de leraar' means 'I'm the teacher'. Hope that helps!

Look: *Er* is indefinite just like *it* so e.g. erin means in it, ernaar means to it, etc. *Hier* is used as this and *daar* as there (hier is opposite of daar and vice versa)
