I demoed this at William Sonoma. I wanted just milk foam which came out cold, the store clerk didn’t know how to adjust the temperature to a hotter setting. How do you adjust the just foam/or just milk temperature?

Hi I’m deciding between the gaggia anime prestige vs this unit gaggia cadorna prestige. Which do you think is the better unit?
Hey there, Both are great units. The Cadorna has a few more features, including 14 beverages, 4 user profiles and colour display. While the Anima Prestige has fewer beverage options, no user profiles. The Anima Prestige is a bit older of a model. The Cadorna is newer than the Anima line. Thank you.

Love my E8 Except for the $20 a month filter cost! Be prepared for this additional cost! Jura has not allowed different companies to manufacture the filter this has allowed the to increase the cost $5 per filter since I purchased the coffee maker.
Hello Richard, thanks for the notes. Jura machines will require: water filter brewing unit cleaning tablets (once per month) milk clean cycle (if the Jura has a milk frother) at the end of the day When using the Smart Claris water filter that is compatible with the E8 line, you do not need to descale your machine. The machine will indicate when a new water filter is needed, this is determined on the water hardness setting on your machine based on the water test strip of your local water when you first set up the machine. If the water hardness is higher is your area, the machine will prompt you to change it more frequently. If you are in Toronto for example, our water here is low hardness (level 1). Each machine, and each brand comes with a water hardness test strip, it helps the machine know what type of water is being used and how often cleaning, maintenance, etc need to be done. Thanks!

My machine is 2300 and it was set on high temperature by factory but there is still 'Max' level that its one step higher.. I want perfect temperature for more and nicer taste. Thanks!
The machine looks beautiful, but there’s nothing that’s easy about how to custom program a drink. For example, she literally just skipped right over how to make an Americano, which, having the machine do it all itself was the number one reason I bought it and there’s no simple wayto figure it out. She pushed the button inside.
Just one clarification. A single Aquaclean water filter will not allow the machine to brew up to 5000 cups between descaling. It will require many Aquaclean filters over that timeframe to allow the 5000 cup descaling interval. On average between two coffee drinkers we have to replace the Aquaclean filter every three months, it is still well worth it however. On another note I have owned both Delonghi and Philips machines now and Philips has vastly superior after sales customer service.

Hi there, For best results you want to be in the middle of the grinder options. For example, if level 1 is the finest and 8 is the coarsest, for best results you should be at setting level 4. Too fine will yield a thick dark and bitter result, and too coarse will yield a watery end result. Many thanks.

Hey there, I do not believe there is a way to change this. You can connect with a DeLonghi tech agent and they can troubleshoot with you and confirm. Depending on the beverage being made, it will make either frothed milk or coffee first. Thanks!

Great question, non oily beans are recommended for all machines or grinders. Avoid oily beans as long time use can and will likely result in grinder oil build up. Thank you!
How does changing the temperature affect the coffee? Why is it an adjustable setting, if we always want it on high?
Hello, thanks for the question. It is a personal preference. I enjoy leaving the machine set to high as well. Some individuals for whatever reason like the temp setting on low, or medium. The machine will still brew a hot enough coffee even on the low setting to correctly extract flavour and aroma from the freshly ground espresso beans. Thank you.

Can you add any type of milk?
Yes, however the protein and fat make up of the milk may alter the end results with regards to texture and foam. The best nondairy milks I like are soy, oat and almond.

The indicator line is on the side wall of the bean hopper next to the round grinder 1-12 knob. For best results level 4 or 5 is suggested. Thanks!

I use the preground option for my morning cup of full caf coffee because the hopper is full of decaf beans for my husband's morning cappucino (I gave him the 5400 as a gift and he only drinks decaf because as a surgeon he can't risk any shaking). My daughter-in-law gave me a pound of blueberry flavored preground coffee (Gene Hicks) as a gift which sounded gross to me until I tried it. Everyone that I have served this coffee to (all who would never choose to drink flavored coffee) love it. Somehow it works. Anyway, I would like to use this flavored coffee for the preground option, but the manual doesn't recommend using flavored coffee. I wonder, does this apply to the preground option as the machine won't be grinding the beans?
Hey there, great question. Flavoured beans are not recommended as they usually have a coating, can be oily or sticky. Using it in the bypass chute should be fine as it's not passing through the burr grinder. Oily beans are not good for the grinder as the oil builds up over time. Blueberry flavour sounds interesting! I would love to try that one day, next time I see it in the store, I will pick it up. Thanks for the message, enjoy your blueberry coffee!
