  Don't think all the LH octaves are there just like the scale in Grand Polonaise. But the technique is nonetheless crazy. He locks his wrist to get greater speed and that pinky is stronger than Baltimore bridge!

  One of my favourites among Chopin' études, and in the deliciously powerful version by Rubinstein. I love playing this every time: as welll on happy days as during days of low spirits or low energy... It' s always a gentle blow of gladness and strength to me

  El libro de Eric Shiblin sobre las 6 suites de Bach y la vida de Casals relata este concierto que, ahora, cuando lo veo, siento con la emoción de cuanto nos ha sido legado. Y el privilegio del que disfrutamos al acceder con esta maravilla de la música y el espíritu libre de un genio como Casals. Inmensas gratitudes.

  I have rarely been so affected by a performance as I was just now, with Miss Varsi's execution of this etude. The last performance that stunned me like that was Modigliani Quartet's Verklarte Nacht. (They have it on KZread.)
