One of my favourites among Chopin' études, and in the deliciously powerful version by Rubinstein. I love playing this every time: as welll on happy days as during days of low spirits or low energy... It' s always a gentle blow of gladness and strength to me
@izzyjamm412 жыл бұрын
Did you know that for a long time until he died, Rubinstein always played a Steinway? So did Horowitz. I got to meet the man who was piano technician for both of them.

No one in the right mind would criticize Rubinstein's interpretations or his playing, and god forgive us, his technique. this man was a consummate performer for many decades. His body of work, taken as a whole is superlative. period.

Why should we give a negative critique to a positive performance?? And why are you insist on being negative?? You simply don't hear the very simple but yet one of the best musical element inside this performance. No matter how negatively you try to speak about this performance .. Rubinstein is still a very good and extraordinary musician.

@@sanjai_s agree. And by the way I don't think anyone touches Rubinstein when it comes to playing the Mazurkas. His authentic artistry in the Mazurkas is supreme, in my opinion-- and by a large margin. Back to the etude, I prefer this performance quite a bit compared to Lang Lang, phenom though he is.
