Dingoes are just adorable. I love their dog cousin hybrids (ACD's, Heelers). Make great life-mates to those who are active and healthy and adventurous. Nice to see them in their natural state - it's a shame that they are culled.

This was so interesting to watch. Funnily, the most shocking thing for me was how flexible they are. I quickly had to check on my Irish Terrier and he could do the same thing with his legs, who knew. I suspect some dogs possess some of these traits but not in an all-in-one package. Dingos are awesome! Thanks for sharing the knowledge.

This is all rubbish .A Dingo is still genetically a dog.And it is in appearance not a lot different to the feral dogs you see roaming around in Asian countries from where it would have originated. You could describe many breeds of dogs that have developed in different parts of the world with different physical characteristics but they are all still dogs. The most likely explanation is they arrived in Australia with the first humans because all breeds of dogs are supposed to have evolved from wolves.

Its not true they ‘never went through domestication’ - they are entirely descended from Mesolithic domestic dogs They just once feral regressed back to grey wolf attributes because domestication was no longer selected for-but every dingo is a descendant of a runaway and/or survivor feral population of once fully domesticated and kept dogs part of human hunter-gatherer band societies, being brought to Australasia by paleo-Aborigines.

It would be an interesting experiment to see how quickly the dingo could be redomesticated, and I doubt it would be very many generations at all-maybe in one human lifetime easily-judging by South Asian pariah dogs & the South Carolina dog

Thank you for the education!!! But please, how can we complain on an American channel that is miseducating people on some critical issues (wild dog related)? It is called Mouse Farm & Agriculture New and they show a lot of predator control, supposedly in Australia, but it's mostly wrong. They just want to make dingoes/wild dogs look as vermin as possible in order to encourage Americans to keep shooting coyotes and wolves for fun/sport. They also included some Australian feral cats footage so wrong. A lynx killing a deer in the snow in Southern Australia?!!! Gimme a break! I wish we could force them to be serious in their "research". This particular video was called: How American Farmers Deal With Millions Of Wild Dogs Attacking Farms. Just creepy!

Sad day, My old girl passed last night. She was the best dog I have ever had the pleasure of training. In her 16 years of life she had many experiences such as accidentally lol bred with a Shepard in the neighbourhood and had 7 pups. The Canadian Military took one claiming that Dingo/Shepard are the best dogs they can get. I had to run her with my car as she liked to run at about 40 Kph. And she would run at that speed for a few Km's. I am already missing her a great deal. I really wish I could get another. Everyone says how hard they are to train. BS, they are trained through love and understanding. In the end I had the most gentle dingo you could imagine. I would like to send you a picture, how could I do that?

I had a conversation with someone at work the other day about Dingoes, because we were talking about Aussie animals and he said 'the Dingo', but I said nah because they're not marsupials so they're not native to here and I think they must be dogs that Indigenous people brought over or something. Anyway, he didn't agree so here I am, hoping to be proven right.

Dingos we’re indeed brought by people 4000 to 5000 years ago. But could have been 6000 years. Marsupial, monotremes, and some rodent species are from Australia.

I have watched videos from both of you! Long story short I adopted a pup a couple years ago (in Colorado) I was told was a certain mix, yet all the genetic and behavioral traits etc. I see from you guys, say her mother is 100% dingo. Which type I'm not sure. But if either of you from video sees this, I'd love to chat and share pics etc. You may have some insight and knowledge I could always use more of. Either way, great videos I love all the dingoes! Cheers!

Our pups are a mix of queensland x aussie shep x bordercollie x mcnabb herding dog and chow chow. Some how, in about 40 tp 50 percent of our pups, we get ALL these dingo/indigenous dog qualities...hunting insect, flexibility, even as much as poomba...excellent sight and smell capabilities...VERY SENSITIVE to touch and very mischeivious...this also lends to assist dogs...so far we have one a seisure detect dog, one a hearing assist dog, 1 an emotional support dog, and one lets its owner know when a multiple sclorosis episode is coming on...my dogs climb trees, they den, go limp when picked up as pups...they dig up insects, toads, kill squirrels, have taken on a bear...best dogs in the world, this 5 way mix is incredible

They're still a dog though. Canis lupus dingo. They can breed with most wolf species and literally all dog breeds. This absolutely produces fully fertile offspring basically every time. They're dogs. And to top it off, the oldest dingo specimen ever found was around 3,500 years old. Humans arrived roughly 65,000 years ago. Dingoes were introduced. There are no other extant species of canid literally anywhere in Australia except for Canis Lupus Familiaris, and we all know how it got there.
