How people can claim to love dogs but hate wolves and dingoes just boggles my mind. Here in the states it is the wolf that is under attack by the government and ranchers/farmers. We need to learn to LIVE with nature side by side.

Wolves were in N America a few generations more than the Dingo breed of dog in Australia, and Australia didn't have placental mammals. In some areas wild dogs might help some parts of the ecosystem by predating some of the other introduced mammals. It's hard to give credibility to the DNA purity claims when different "authorities" results differ so much. Those that defined the semi-isolated population on Fraser Is & some outliers in very unpopulated corners as the most pure remnants are what would be rationally expected. Particularly when very good natural history observers didn't historically mention the colour etc varieties in days gone by, yet they magically appeared with social media. Those historic ones were oten collectors, and would have been very interested obtaining & classifying different types that's how they worked back when. Good example, being this one, its colour etc seem to resemble the normal dingo type, so it's probable dominant dingo breed. Some very different appearing breeds are deemed "pure alpine dingo" by other content contributors. The sceptic isn't cancelled.

Excellent 👍 . Dingos should be protected or at least managed by wildlife management. It's a great interesting story. Thank you 🤠

They reduce rabbit numbers significantly plus other grazers that damage the grasslands. Even if farmers attempt to fallow grazing areas the wild grazers prevent the regeneration without the dingoes keeping the wild grazers numbers down.

It’s crazy that people don’t see dingoes as a necessary part of the environment, I can kind of understand the thinking that they’re not a native species, but since the thylacine’s extinction that ecological niche needs to be held by something and the dingo is a great choice for that, from what I understand you guys have way too many kangaroos too lol

The aboriginal people kept them as pets. As far as I’m concerned, they are a type of dog. They don’t really behave like wolves. Obviously they are related and are canids

They theorized he'd been taken by a bird of prey and dropped. Based on the scratch pattern on his back. He was only a small puppy.

He was dropped by a bird of prey-it happens to small animals here too sometimes
