nice wording there to frame it as negative. its not plagiarization, they took inspiration from it...its a thing from the past, EVERY SINGLE ARTIST DO THIS. This is very different from a girl group being given a very similar look, feel, sound, presentation, and choreography...to an existing, successful girl group in the same company, not even 3 years into the run of the one who first did it...there's no playing morality, taking inspiration from the past is fair game and every artist in every medium do this, not just KPop. What you're doing is muddying the waters to make it seem like what Newjeans did (getting inspiration from old stuff) and what Be Lift/HYBE did (bandwagon on the thing that Newjeans is doing) are the same thing, you're conflating two different things as same....that is bad faith and intellectually dishonest and lazy.

(not ADOR. :D) and if Min's investor is from maxico this all even clicked more. :D this' very fun and interesting. :D

Just one conclusion from this uncovering of plagiarism: It debunks MHJ’s injunction entirely, as her case is based on the alleged plagiarism of NJs by other Hy’s ggroups On the other hand, since Hy didn’t rebut that argument of hers in court, they obviously weren’t aware of the situation. Having a successful gg has been BSH’s pet project since the beginnings of BigHit, but he wud never have risked BigHit/Hy’s image and prestige with such blatant plagiarism. Further, not long ago Hy launched a project for expansion in LatAM based in Mex, stealing from a fairly known Mex gg doesn’t make sense; too risky (I understand that Jeans’ songs are still played in “oldies songs” radios)

🤪🤪 MHJ - "MY ORIGINAL CONCEPT" 😜. 🤣🤣🤣 Sad for the artist whom MHJ pointed out copying her so callled originality. What a mess! 😤😤 Sad for HYBe as parent company: they have to face these public mess and legal responsibility, as well as financial loss. But MHJ started it and anger the international fans - so it just a backfires to her so called "my original concept". She must be responsible for her unethical response as CEO -it is mishandling of company internal conflict and issues resulting to public scrutiny, etc... .... .... .🤪🤪

At this point nothing I hear about MJH is even shocking. She is a classic narcissist and eternal victim. I hope this can be used as evidence as to why she is unfit to continue working as a CEO. As for New Jeans the group, I am so upset with the adults around them. How ignorant are the parents? And what about their legal representation? Who advises them to officially take a side in this? I’m sure they wanted to, but someone, anyone should have told them they needed to think about their careers and let these two companies fight it out. I believe MHJ will be fired, if not physically then psychologically. Even if she could win the injunction, she is NEVER again going to enjoy the freedoms she had a Hybe. I’m pretty sure they are moving them out of the 16th floor as we speak. And not for nothing, but HYBE is petty; they will keep them in court for a decade - and there goes those girls’ career. This is a classic case of when your EGO writes a check your body CANNOT cash!

I know one thing… this might be the reason , Bighit doesn’t want girl groups. And this situation just made the decision locked and sealed. I’m a girl and I can say it is probably harder to manage girl groups more than boy groups. Plus, I think when their past girl group failed, then PD might be traumatized from back then, too.

It is obvious that MHJ is a train wreck waiting to happen. She has only got this far because rival companies of Hybe have used their press contacts to aid her publicity campaign. Its the first time they have had any success in their attempts to tarnish Hybe and maybe get chance at those lucrative ambassadorships and sponsorship deals BTS has been scooping up. MHJ will find herself ghosted once she has fulfilled her purpose. So my major worry is New Jeans. This is my hope. .... that when everything has died down Hybe shows magnanimity and developes them without MHJ. It would do alot to mend their reputation if they released a press statement saying the girls were young and talented and they showed admirable loyalty to their mentor, but were misguided. This would squash attempts to make HYBE look like the big corporate bully squashing por little MHJ. I hope New Jeans do not end in the wilderness with Min Hee Jin. 💜

Currently, the standard copyright laws protect up to 75 yrs; assuming Mex law meets this standard, “Jeans” has approx 30 yrs ownership over everything they created. Plagiarism is costly, even more so the bigger the percentage plagiarised, which in the case of MHJ project is close to 90%. Jeans members all still alive and two still active and fairly well known in Mexico, have just won the lottery As it’s said in Spanish lore “nadie sabe para quién trabaja” (no one knowns for whom they work) I feel for the girls involved, but not for all the adults illegally appropriating some one else’s work While Hy will loose some $$, MHJ and everyone involved have lost their futures in the industry Allow me to reference a classic: “They who laugh last, laugh best”

An homage is putting some classic elements in your work that is clearly paying tribute to the original. Clear example is JK’s snty which is an homage to MJ and the music of his era. But the work itself is very original and fresh even if it feels nostalgic. MJ has been a huge influence on pop music for so long that this does not have to be spelled out. But with this Nj and jeans...it’s a little bit more than that. First of all...this group is a bit obscure, I never heard of them. Their style, their music and branding was typical of the era so they were also not the only instance that used those elements. But in this instance so many details were lifted from them that this is not just inspiration...it’s copying, down to the font used and even some of the music. This was never acknowledge until now. I say this is just lazy work...very disappointing!

  • @belaytriks
    @belaytriks14 сағат бұрын

It is not obscure but we are talking about a teen local group of a third world country that have no support for their artists. They are well known for millenials here in Mexico because they were their versions of "idols", even with the 9 years career from middle 90's to late 20's. They as far as I remembered never had a huge success international but they promoted around the country and still do, funny thing I still remember some of their songs: "Pepe", "La ilusión del primer amor" or "Me pongo mis jeans". Here Millenials knows them but they were pre KZread so it is not like I watch their MVs but listen them in radio and parties.

Just look at how RM got a #1 in the UK Singles chart with ‘come back to me’ even during this mess. You can see why MHJ waited until BTS enlisted as she knew if they were still here all they would have to do is release a song and she and her issue would be drowned out.

V referenced David Bowie as his influence for Layover, that’s class and how you do it. BTS always gives credit to the original artist as they are usually role models for them. Sure sometimes things slip through the crack and you rely on others for the creatives, and when that happens you apologies and correct the mistake. BTS have NEVER claimed any of the art as original and it shows the difference in class between them and MHJ who is the biggest narcissist I’ve seen in a long time. I’m waiting on Shakattak’s response on the ‘plagiarism’ accusation about NJ’s ‘Bubblegum’ song, they sound similar. Plagiarising music has copyright law in its side, unlike copying concepts.

In the music business there are no totally new things only using what came before to build on that to create something new. I have a problem with the hypocrisy of MHJ and her creative team. For weeks they have pointed the finger at Illet and other groups, claiming that they were plagiarizing their dance moves. concepts and style. MHJ was so original in creative direction that everyone else need to stop copying her. The definition for hypocrisy is “the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform;” The creative team and MHJ owe Illet and the other groups they have dragged through the mud a big apology.

Ador did try to pass it off as their own though, which is plagiarism. It's literally the definition, at least by Oxford Languages, the first thing that comes up with a simple Google search. And, also you can commit plagiarism even if you don't "claim something is your own completely." If not enough about it has been changed, it can still be plagiarism. Think of Olivia Rodrigo and Paramour. She had to retroactively credit them with one of her songs, because her song sound so similar to Misery Business and I don't think she was intentionally trying to plagiarize. She even said Paramour is one of her inspirations, the problem is the song wasn't different enough that they decided to add Paramour to the credits so there would be no plagiarism allegations and Paramour would get paid. Typically if you take reference or inspiration from older pop groups, you mention those groups fairly early on, make enough changes to art that it's unique enough to not be plagiarism or get permission to use their art, or you take reference from a group that is so culturally well known and iconic that people understand where you're inspiration is coming from (think of all the groups that will use iconic dance moves from Michael Jackson - no one screams plagiarism because it's so well known where the inspiration comes from and the assumption is that you're paying tribute. They'll also usually just incorporate these moves into new choreography making the whole unique and not an outright copy, again making changes so it comes off as a tribute and inspiration and not plagiarism). They didn't do this with NJs, the fact that they "took inspiration" from a group not widely known and never credited this group, is an indication that they were hoping people wouldn't notice which again goes back to the definition of plagiarism and passing things off as your own.

  • @alwenawillis8813

She only claimed to be inspired by older pop groups after people noticed how many groups ‘concept’ was actually she was claiming was hers and original. If no one had found out we would all be none the wiser today. Referencing someone after the fact does not count you need to do it at the time so they have a right to a portion of the revenue. She has claimed all a long until recently that it was all her own concept, so no one had been acknowledged or referenced at the time so no one received some proportion of the revenue. Sometimes people plagiarise unintentionally and admit that they did by error and address it. She has admitted she was inspired by the group and copied concepts in styling, choreography imaging etc, too many to say it was just inspiration it is what it is plagiarism. The question is will she compensate them?

Wow! Let me know where you learnt this definition of "plagiarism". "Harm" doesn't come in terms of money only. The greater harm comes from the theft of intellectual property. That is why concepts such as "copyright" exist! You think NJ, a more popular group, capitalising on the concepts of another less popular group and claiming to be original, thereby depriving that group of their due credit is okay? Because using similar concepts is normalised in k-pop, HYBE perhaps didn't even think of Illit as "copying" and went on with the idea to make another successful HYBE girl since that formula worked because it is ultimately a company that has to look for ways to make profit while making music and guess what? It worked! . If Illit is "copying" NJ, Babymonster too is "copying" Black Pink. But MHJ and NJ's parents made an issue of it because they couldn't tolerate Illit succeeding and surpassing their group. They would still have the right to point fingers if they were themselves original! When they even went to the extent of copying the name and the style in which it is written, they are the last people to call themselves morally credible artists! And it's such a shame that people like you even now do not realise who the main problem is!.

@@pheonix9929 sadly I agree. They have exhausted the patience of HYBE and logical fans.

😂hear we go again an angry BTS fan. They even did a social experiment. You’ve reached the “shout them down stage”. K-pop today without BTS is back to being loving, happy & fun, collaborating & being supportive. There is no concept of competition or winning Grammies. Which is what hype want. Joke
