You mentioned turning on mezco. Thats one company i also seriously limit what i buy from. I actually sold a bunch of one 12 figures and buy maybe 1 or 2 a year now (none this year yet) they the worst customer service i have personally come across
I use to be a manager at KB toys back when star wars ep 1 came out and all themnew figures came out. Yeah i saw a lot of crazy collectors lol. The mcfarlane sports picks guys were pretty bad too. I had 1 guy demand that i show him our shipping manifest or he was going to call corporate 🤣. I told him to cLl corporate lol. Truck days were tues and thurs and we'd have a few guys waiting outside an hour before we opened like clockwork
Although I don’t normally agree with some of the things you say, I have to agree that a lot of these obese entitled man babies became wannabe bullies. But isn’t it funny how so many of them only picked on kids, except some of these kids would’ve whooped those collectors asses. When I’m out looking I see of them and it’s funny how just looking at them gets them crapping their pants. I’ve never encountered one of the abusive fat manbabies yelling at an employee but I’m sure I’d let them know where I stand on that issue. F all those fat manbaby beeches.
yes, we have all heard the horror stories of terrible people harassing employees and being rude. But let's highlight the more typical experience for the common collector during this time - It honestly felt like we were grown men trying to find the nearest red shirt and khakis and hand them our phone like was a a note from our mother showing the employee what she sent us to the store to buy.😄
I love Valaverse series. I consider its quality is better than other series but I have had dificultades in many figures to put the alternativas heads like this figure. I hate when it hapens and I wonder if it's useful two heads when You can never use the other one.
The only thing I hate in this day and age is pre orders just horrible

Target and other stores were ordering masks, hand sanitizer, toliet paper, and lysol wipes and passing on "non-essentials." Then everyone started ordering everything online. Now we can't have nice things, just damaged boxes and smaller toy aisles.
Bobby, I like your toy line and I can see where your coming from, but allow me to offer a different perspective. The guys at Target at 6 am, in my experience, are not GI Joe fans, they are flippers and scalpers, mostly. Also, I don't think that most of the people complaining about Cobra Island stuff were trying to put Hasbro out of business. More like they were letting Hasbro know there was still a huge demand for these figures and they should make them more accessible, albeit in a very rude and immature way. And an argument could be made that it worked. The Cobra infantry being sold by the case, the viper 3 pack, the retro carded Eels and Snow Serpents, all show that they are listening. Maybe they would be better served if they too made a 10 minute video complaining about people complaining instead of listening to the complaints and giving the complainers what they want to make more money.
You bring up some good points. The greater issue was with distribution and supply. I know there were many cases of rude customers. But not all of fell into that category - even though I did find myself driving all the way to a far off Target to be there right at 8 am when it opened only to find that what was supposed to be there ... wasn't. As a collector those times were extremely frustrating because I was doing everything I was supposed to be doing as a customer only to be greeted by disappointment and in some cases apathetic employees. But I will say that there were also some extraordinary target employees that went above and beyond to ensure a good customer experience

Bobby, I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting you. As a new Toy tuber that would openly admit to having a Joe Bro file card on myself, I get there seems to be some disagreements that were around long before I committed to my collecting and channel content. But I needed to watch this video, having recently bought some of the Action Force figures I was able to wrangle so far. 100% love them. I’m buying them as I find them in my hunts. I really don’t give two soft Craps about the stupid games at play that keeps the heat on that argument. How can I have reasons to enjoy the Classified nostalgia without wanting new figures and characters! How can I turn my toy shelf into a reflection of a debate like that. Your product compliments my collection as its own brand without depriving me any joy from my 6” Joes. It actually Enhances it. But on the subject of the Bullying, I really wanted this clear. The people I run with in this “community” ( chose whichever word for it that works for you), would 100% agree with the points you made in this video. Thanks very much for that.
A lot of collectors have no patience when it comes to the hobby and the hunt. I can squarely blame social media for that sort of heightened fervor - everyone wants to be the first for the likes and clicks and dopamine rush. But how much do they actually care about the toys(?). Awesome video as always, my friend.
Good point Chad. And let's not forget that there are some toytubers out there that are willing to fake content on so called "toy hunts" just for the views. Social media, FOMO, and that sweet sweet hit of dopamine you described are some of the obstacles collectors (and consumers alike) have to navigate in this experience. Thanks for the comment. 6 inch collectors are the most aggressive collectors. Personally, I'm a 4 inch guy. So the industry has bullied me out of collecting joe. Gonna have to move to China. But you 6 inches keep fighting it out.

I totally understand your rant Bobby it’s ridiculous now how big classified series has gotten. To be honest I was sort of a crazy collector myself till I decided to calm down a bit due to finances and wanted more to do my very own toy photography art.

I got a rule of thumb if I want a figure I will get it with the exception of exclusive figures. It is also dependent if I have the money.

I agree with nearly everything you say here. As much as the Kenner Super Powers line gets criticized for the figures being gimmicky, Mattel's Marvel Secret Wars is absolutely baffling how it got executed. As you well put it, why in the world would they include these lenticular things that had absolutely no play value, and yet some figures didn't get accessories most essential to them, like Captain America missing his iconic shield (but Wolverine got his claws and Daredevil his billy club)? Capeless Magneto and Dr. Doom are just unforgivable.
Okay, I am 2:12 into this video. I felt that I needed to stop and say something: True, (I will say some) Collectors became rude and/or abrasive to Target Employees and other Collectors. But it is also true that some Target Employees were lying to customers, hiding the items in the back and also purchasing the Classified Figures for themselves. I was difficult to locate all of these figures around this time, but the Cobra Island were "Short release" and Target also were splitting up Factory Cases to divide them up with other Target Stores in my area. I would hope that I was not one of the rude Collectors, that I guess is up to others (I tried not to be)...
I can say that from a friend when asking him about it he said that when he worked at target he would get asked to look in the back. He would go back there, look on his phone and come back out saying they didn't have it.
These were indeed some dark times for the republic. To be fair, we must also include these truths you speak of - the "target manager exclusive" was not a meme created without merit!

I love seeing your perspective on these toys/lines even if I don't always agree with your opinions. Why didn't Hasbro want to do Secret Wars 2.0? It seems like it would be a slam dunk. My kids would love that.
Thinking back to my heaviest Transformers collecting days of 20-25 years ago, exclusives were annoying but I jumped through all the hoops (without being a problem to any one). So many stores: Toys R Us, KB Toys, WalMart, Target, K-Mart, Amazon, TF Collectors Club, Hasbro Toy Shop, Sam's Club, Costco, etc. Now I only buy maybe 5% of what I used to.

Is simply, and politely asking the Target employee if they have any in the back harassment? I hope you're not dismissing it as "complaining" simply for being critical of Classified line. When it comes to exclusives and other issues with the line. In regards to Classified; Making popular, mainline, tent pole characters and army builders exclusive to one store, is bad for the consumer fan base. Starting off by locking out the majority of your fans from core characters is bad business. Like they did with the Cobra Island line. Did it kill the line? I don't think it could single handed. But, it could have died by a thousand cuts. The line had some actual trouble when they raised the price, then when they went to windowless, then after a grace period of keeping their promise of no bent weapons, they ditched the cardboard sleeves that was making that happen and started using softer plastic. 50% of the accessories I was getting across a wave were some amount of bent. Then they went even softer plastic. And the QC issues got into a few of the figures themselves. I almost quit the line or, was going to begin really cherry picking who I buy. But, then Hasbro started making nearly every figure a banger character since that dark time. It seems to me, that they have scaled back releases a bit. And are focusing on the big name characters, in my opinion. But, they still need to improve quality of their accessories. I've bought several Action Force weapon packs to replace and upgrade my figures where I need to.
Not gonna lie - didn't read the entire message (sorry), but I will say that I do agree with your opening statement - I don't think it is considered rude to ask for assistance as a customer - especially when we already know that all too often the merchandize is there - but not out on the pegs for some reason. And it really sucks as a customer that you have to feel like you are begging for them to sell you something lol
Mcfarlane gave stands did you copy off of him? I saw a few review videos comparing your gilly suit to a duster. I get it you’re talking down on good figures to sell yours, but at least be honest. 🙄
Exclusives suck! Normally I agree with you, but in this case Target employees and managers were scalping the exclusives. The Targets near me there were employees with the audacity to post them on Facebook in their Target shirts for $150 a pop. Exclusives need to go! All exclusives do is feed the greed and allow resellers and those that are lucky enough to have access prey on true collectors that consistently support a company/line. Piss off a collector enough by making things rare and hard to get and they will move onto something they are able to get without making a career out of it. If you want to do an exclusive, make it a straight repaint. Respectfully Bobby, how are exclusives working out for Hasbro? How many people have dumped classified and their other lines because of that Target debacle or many of the other debacles they've had? Hasbro has been progressively failing and bleeding off money! P.s., get rid of those armor plates on shins and boots because it looks terrible. Boots have laces and straps. Resoectfully again, I love what you've done so far for the most part and I own A LOT of your figures, but when you're wrong, you're wrong and this is one of the rare times you are!
i got harassed, bullied, jumped, and everything in the book for playing with action figures growing up.... and back then they were an escape for me from my mothers molestation, torture, and abuse on me.

I don't hate re-issues. I think they're a great way to get in demand figures for newer collectors or collectors who may have missed out the first time. But, then, that's because I don't care if my toys hold their value. I don't see them as an investment, I see them as toys. Toys are meant to be played with. I play with my toys.
I think to some the vigor and complaining is a drug. It is an addiction to being frustrated. A state of being grateful for what you have been able to collect is just as powerful. Exclusives are a double edged sword. The company selling it do want to create a desire for it to be purchased. Sure. Those wanting the item have to come to terms with is having it now the issue for you or eventually. Exclusives do press on the got to get it now button or it’s gone. Fans shouldn’t let that push put them in a state of being jerks. So many options to collect. Find a balance between collecting and being grateful for what you have. I agree. Don’t be jerks about not getting the exclusive. Help a fellow collector out too if you can.
Action Force is getting better available in Germany now. Some shops have it listed. And other collectors start asking me, how did you get to use the name "Action Force"? Was it just free because Hasbro forgot to copyright it in time or is it so unspecific that everyone may use it? Is there already a video that explains it?

I feel like there’s alot of people in the collector’s community that are on record for saying they hate AF figures but secretly collect it because they dug themselves so deep with hating a product then to later realize it’s actually very good. They won’t man up and admit they were wrong so they’ll continue their hate rhetoric but collect it on the slide. I don’t care what anybody says, if you’re a Joe collector, you’re collecting other lines to compliment your joes. AF is at the top of those lines you want to collect and pose next to joes. I tell you what…. I have more classifieds than AF figures but I’m liking AF figures more and more as the years pass. Classifieds line gets lazy from time to time. AF doesn’t. I’m already getting to the point where I’m not needing to get every Classified figure but I’m needing to get every Action Force character. Do we see a pattern forming here? 😂

Thankfully, I've never harassed a store employee when I couldn't get something I wanted. I might be disappointed, but it is what it is. However, I worked retail for around 20 years, so I think about that sort of thing before I open my mouth.
Can't satisfy everyone. Exclusive or not, it's up to individuals. Never been a completist myself so it depends if an exclusive is worth the trouble and money getting from evilbay(like I did for Condor Covert ops). For stuff like Haslab, it comes to different opinions of people how they look at it. Whether it's worth the money and waiting time. Not much of a wow factor for me so far(they might try a WHALE). Anyway been loving your Valaverse stuff. Can't wait for both my Vanguards to arrive(ordered thru BBTS. It's easier for us Asians I guess). And also the series 5. Can't help but notice elements of the A-Team/Nasty Boys about it.. Cheers..
I did not complain when I bought Leia Organa star wars rebels action figure. I was more interested with just her blaster rifle which I used for another figure
Wife and I are having a blast at the convention. But those who have met Bobby and the team you guys are absolutely missing out make the pilgrimage, and make a bunch of new friends because 10 years from now and this line is going even stronger you’ll be able to say you were there in the beginning

Just think most toy buyers are in there 50s. Younger gen is not buying them. So in like 20 years most of the toy collectors today will have past away. Along with the toys. Esp when the younger gen doesnt like to work or make money.
You couldn’t possibly be any more wrong. I’m 32 and have been collecting my whole life as have a huge group of my friends and most collectors I talk to. I run in to younger collectors weekly. The problem with the old folks is they’ll buy out the shelves then up charge for resale. Younger collectors are usually better to buy and trade with.
I’m 17. I love toy collecting but how dare you say that we don’t like to work. It’s generalizations like these that prevent everyone from getting along and understanding each toher
