I hear ya about your riding gear problems and I went through similar stuff until I found used Aerostich gear. It’s not very bikery looking, but it sure is protective, comfy and waterproof.

My first ever Harley-Davidson is a new to me '94 Dyna Wide Glide with the Evo 80, only bigger Harley engine besides the Sportster 1200 I will ever consider owning. I like simple and carbureted. It's my first V-Twin had a new knockoff CV carb installed on it that was missing some inlets and ran like garbage with a nasty lean spit. In the process of rebuilding the original so it's running correctly, I may jet it a bit higher if necessary. I found another V-Twin shortly afterwards that I'd always wanted which is a rare 2 year run 1986 Honda Shadow VT1100C which runs like a top but I need to do some work to the cooling system, it has a leaking upper radiator hose which is unobtanium. I will do a full on cooling system redo probably with customer made hoses and maybe just buy a new fuel pump and water pump as spares for now. It has new tires as compared to the 6 year old tires on the Dyna which I will change myself and balance myself. These aren't my first cruiser bikes, I've had an '82 Yamaha XJ1100J MAXIM for decades and I just landed another one that's extremely clean. Got a down payment on it to hold it and will make the nearly 400 mile round trip to go pick it up by the week's end. I haven't ridden much for years and I have the bike bug again hard and plan to tour all over with any and all of these bikes.

The '18 doesn't have V&H Short Shots on it, they're just V&H slip-ons on the stock headers. As to which looks better, the answer is neither. The original Evo Fat Boy is the winer.

I still have a 2015 Dyna Wide Glide. Will never sell it. You can´t replace it unless you spend a lot of money. It´s a powerful little bike and quicker than you think. If you take care of it , it´ll last 20 years. Much better than any Sportster.

I rode the 107 Street Glide and the 114 Street Glide. I noticed the 114 had a little more pickup and speed, but not enough to get me to buy it. So' i bought the 107 Standard Street Glide now if i want more power i can put whatever i want in it when their warranty is over. However' if you're going to be hauling fat girls around, then go for the most power you can afford. The fatter the girl, the bigger the motor. So if your riding around tight lil spinners, 107s are fine. But you like them corn fed, beefy with jelly rolls, then you may want to avoid the 107s 114s 117s and just op for the 121, 131 and 135 motors. Not only will you thank yourself later, your poor bike will thank you too.

After riding almost every kind of motorcycle made since I was 11 years old (I'm 70 now and have owned 5 different Harleys and about 40 other bikes) and even professionally racing some I can tell you for certain that a half hour ride tells you nothing about any motorcycle. Vibration of the motorcycle at idle means nothing!!! I prefer riding the older Harleys before they put balancers in the motors to smooth them out. They have a distinct soul...the newer Harleys have much much less because they run so smoothly. They don't really even sound like a real Harley anymore....Not a bad video, but no real substance here.

700lb bikes arent for beginners. Way too many people on the road with no skills on too big or fast bikes. This is why we get creamed so often.

At the 4-minute Mark when you're pulled over to the side of the road putting on rain gear... Don't stand between your bike and on coming cars.. you should have been standing on the other side of the bike.... Number to always carry at least three pairs of gloves.. hot cold and wet .. last time I crossed the country I brought five different.. they take up almost no room.. and finally when it looks like it's going to rain it is going to rain... So suck it up and just pull over and put the gear on.. you're going to have to anyway😁

Old Skool Fatboy all the way. Such an iconic bike. I get they have to evolve it, but it was pretty perfect from the start. The only flaw with a Fatboy as a hwy bike is the wheels. The solid wheels are brutal in high winds.

I toured thousands of miles on a honda rebel 500 and sportster iron 883xxl. My heritage is just perfect, not too light, not too heavy. Maybe a Road King is a comparable bike based on looks but you can’t go wrong on both those bikes.
