    Kudos on doing a deal on a second wash... hopefully the price was right. As a car wash owner myself, it's hard to give advice about priorities without knowing the status of all the equipment but keeping focus on the customer experience is always #1. What plans do you have for the old Rowe Changers that you took out? I might be interested in them for parts if they're in decent condition. Let me know and good luck with the new venture!

    Right now I re-installed the American because I needed a backup but the hopper is too small on American. Now I am thinking about rebuilding the Rowe and installing that one.

    somehow using 3 functions isnt as good of a bang for your buck than using 7 functions and spending all that extra time in there. this was an atrocious video top to bottom. not only do you end up encouraging people to spend MORE money while saying youre going to help us not waste money, but your examples of washing are also quite concerning. you foam brushed your rims midway through foam brushing your body? great job, now youve contaminated the brush with dirt from the tires and will proceed to spread that on the rest of the car. there is a reason why they say to do soap TOP to BOTTOM.

    Would love to know some of the information on the purchase of this car wash. How did you find the deal? Owner financed to you? Lease+option? Bank financing? If possible would like to know how deal was structured. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Trying to figure out ways to acquire something like this for myself with little or no money down. Maybe you purchased outright for cash? IDK ha just figured I would ask :) Thanks!

    If self-serves in germany would just have so many features like the US ones. No Tire brushes, barely an air dryer, most are just foam, high pressure soap, high pressure water, wax, spot free rinse, foam brush, some have tire cleaner built-in but its rare to see......

    Looks like a great facility with a lot of potential. I think your priorities are in the right order. Focus on the customer experience first and make sure everything works in every bay. In bay lighting, site lighting, new signs, new brushes, good hoses and wands, new meter box decals and Nayax readers on the meter boxes. Once you have the customer side humming along, then you can start with the equipment room stuff. After suffering a boiler fire, I would get those serviced before winter and have someone that knows what they're doing give them a good once over. It is entirely possible to replace the customer hot water with a tankless that feeds the buffer tank. Hot water is a big plus at my wash, and it makes everything work so much better. As for paint... paint the fascia, but I would leave the bays brick. I'm in the process of painting my bays, and it's a huge pain, but my brick is really dark colored and lightening the bays up was the goal, and it's made a huge difference. I just don't know how long the paint will stay looking nice compared to the maintenance-free brick. I look forward to new videos! Good luck!

    If a new machine didn't cost $150,000+ without breaking a sweat, the ROI would actually be worth it...

  • @normalcarwash
    @normalcarwash27 күн бұрын

    @dammitbobby283 Agreed! I priced new wash equipment at the Car Wash show... from EVERY vendor... the ROI is like 7-10 years on average. That's INSANE. Find good used equipment if you can, but otherwise, new stuff is priced so outrageously, unless you're building a new facility I can't imagine trying to make it work financially.

    @dammitbobby283 Only if you don’t maintain it. The kinds of guys who tell me this all have run down autos that barely work. If you treat it well, it will serve you well.

    @dammitbobby283 It’s still a better source of income. If you get a good automatic you RARELY have unscheduled downtime. I’ve been in the industry for almost 4 years, I know automatics very well.

    I'm late to the game but for machines like these, there are probably rebuild kits for items like your compressor and fluid pumps and the vac motors can probably be refurbished, but you really need to know what you're doing there as well. They aren't serviceable like the motors in my Rainbow vacuums but there can be limited service done to them like replacement bearings and a set of new brushes. They may be standard Ametek Lamb vac motors as most of them resemble that. The one problem with some of those motors is the fact that there's a mix of peripheral discharge and tangential discharge and if these units actually pick up water, the motors really should be tangential dicharge with the exhaust horn with the appropriate plumbing so the watery exhaust doesn't get into the electric side of the motor. Either that or there should be a barrier plate sitting on top of the fan case to separate the vacuum exhaust from the electric cooling side.

    Love the video. I’m looking at a 4 bay self serve wash that has been damaged from a fire. I would need to repair asphalt and get all new equipment. Right on a busy road with 10,000 cars a day going by. It would be the only car wash in town. Just don’t know how to underwrite the deal to know how much to spend.

    But are you able to use the Raptor at all? If not, what's the point? The truck is getting trashed and you aren't able to use it. I was thinking about doing Turo with a Raptor but it just doesn't make financial sense. You're risking someone damaging the truck making it a huge hassle to repair. Also, renters may use it to do harsh work increasing the chances for damage. Those payments don't stop for a few years. Thanks for the video/info.

    would like to point this out. that pump has oil opening to be lubricated once a month that help prevent this type of damage. aka do the maintenance to the pump and you wont be replacing these plungers. get you a 5cp2120w if you dont wanna do the monthly oiling of the plungers like this one. the bottom end of these pumps last a long time as long as you watch to make sure you dont have water contamination in the oil. these rebuilds depending on use should be at the earliest about once a year and thats usually just the high pressure seals.
