I remember an interview Billy did where he talked about this performance. He said that's exactly why they hadn't done live TV before. 🤣 He said his in-ear monitors were extremely low, him and Dusty could barely hear Frank. He said the only thing they COULD hear was that "Dog gone loud ass Trumpet"!! 😂 Anyone who has seen ZZ Top knows they are extremely tight. RIP Dusty!

that was like some muppet show laughs at the end. awesome
Those horns are hillarious!
When they cut back to Johnny in the beard and the shades, I laughed out loud.....which is more than I can say about any late night shows on these days.

Billy, Frank and the always cool Dusty RIP ... One of the greatest bands that has ever existed. GOD BLESS'EM !
One of the greatest rock bands ever! When Fandango came out I prestidigitated myself to the record store immediately! They are fantastic live - just straight up rock and roll, no frills, just great musicianship.

Seen them 6 times & every show was different but just as good as the one before. They kept up with what was new without leaving their roots
Saw them like 30 years ago in San Antonio, I remember the laser show they had during Legs, it was a great concert.
Awesome, that was definitely live back then! My favorite band to this day and I'm in my late 60's

First time on national tv and they rock the pink hats, pink pickups and pink cords. Innovators … Legends.
To be honest, there are moments when they sound like a garage band trying to play over their own mistakes. Doc is like the slow witted brother who walks in uninvited but not unexpected and throws the whole practice session into a cluster of disorganized mayhem.

From back when guest artists actually played their instruments and didn't lip sync. Real musicians. So few left.

We got to see them on their Rio Grande Mud Tour with Disguised Marshall Amps - Not a large crowd 30-40 people so that we could meet them
I saw ZZ Top perform at the Cotton Bowl back in '81. They were a backup band for the Rolling Stones, and the The Fabulous Thunderbirds were a backup band for ZZ Top! Man, them were the days... ;-)
