Just to let you know i found this out in my class when my teacher brought it up he told me to look up a video and that blue jays eat other birds as there main meal

That sparrow was a "Blood" flashing signs in the wrong hood.

Saw a blue jay ripping a sparrow head off while fighting another 4 sparrows. Had to search to see if it’s normal! They are vicious, thank you for the footage!

Many other birds are omnivores and will prey on other birds, especially chicks or nestlings.

I've seen many Blue Jay attacks on baby birds they always fuck up Robin's nests, it's what they do, sad but nature

I witnessed the same thing in my neighborhood , so shocked ! Nature is so cruel .

No wonder there new comes blue Jays when I am getting more hummingbird. how to get them away?

outwiththem...Blue jays do hunt sparrow regularly. I used to feed bluejays with raw peanuts every morning, winter, spring, summer, falls, and I have bird seeds for the other birds also. One day I heard a rapid chirping sound on the tree and saw bluejay viciously stripping the feathers off the poor sparrow until there was no more chirping sound. I now suspect blue jays probably eat other birds as their main meals. At time I wasn't sure why sparrows and chickadees no longer around my trees as they used to, especially in early dawn and evening. No more peanuts for bluejays; they really are blue crows.

@@bgrahm3328 Studies have shown only about 1 per cent of Blue Jays attack other birds. And do only on food emergencies. Crows, Ravens, Black Birds and Hawks are the main killers of other birds, speccially the chicks in nest. Those birds are the real Bird Cannibals, not Blue Jays..
