Thanks! I just grabbed my Crane 3 LAB, ($450!) so once I learn it will be getting this kit. I find it _amazing_ that they've got (albeit limited) a range of zooms that work with this. The kind of technology that would be involved for a zoom lens to work and stay balanced is amazing to me. After all, this totally changes the weight distribution, and some lenses (like Canon's 24-105) aren't internal zooms. Just 6 years ago I was happy with a weighted/balanced non-electronic steady cam that was almost $300! They're spoiling us!

I have a panasonic G9 and I like to use my Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmar 100-400mm optical zoom lens for filming nature far away. It's a fairly heavy lens, do you think that combo can be balanced and held up by the Crane 3 when the zoom is fully extended? It's max payload is almost 10 lbs. Or would I need to add a cage and counter weight on top of that to achieve it?

I'm using a meike 25mm cine lens so i only need the focus set up (no zoom) and i'm getting CRANE 3 LAB using BMPCC4K -- is there anything someone can tell me before i buy the wrong focus or not all the pieces of it and end up having something that doesn't work? i just need a follow focus for crane 3 lab-- idk if they sell just the focus or have to buy both zoom and focus -- does it plug into the crane? and the mount that comes with the servo pack goes right on it?

I have nikon D 5300 so this servo and gimbal comparable this camera

I’ve just bought and installed both the follow focus servo and the zoom servo. When I connect either one of the two, it works fine, but when I connect both at the same time, only the zoom servo works through the handle rocker. The follow focus doesn’t work. The wheel doesn't do anything. I’ve tried in both movie mode and manual mode and I still have the same issue. I have also set the lens to both AF and MF and I still have the same issue. My gimbal is attached to the Sony a7iii with a Sony 24-105 lens. Any advice on what could be wrong here?

That's not listed as one of the supported lenses for the A7. I'd wager that's your issue. The 24-70 _is_ supported.

Kritav Shah xx thanks for the fast response 🙏 Yea we bought one for the company, Unfortunately, the follow focus has been sitting for the past few weeks. Found riser plates, Just still not seeing anywhere to mount the follow focus servo Motors to my existing “flat” quick release plate? Hmmm Lol

Thank you for this tutorial, I am having problems with my Crane 3 Lab, I've upgraded it to V1.90 and then I attempted to upgrade the Servo Motors (Max & Lite) but there is a Yellow light that continues to blink. Have you experienced this problem or can you offer me any assistance? I can't seem to find a number for tech support in the US for this manufacturer.

I believe the yellow blinking light indicates that everything is normal and working properly with the motor

Hey. When updating the firmware of the servo focus focus zoom, there was a problem, the yellow LEDs are constantly flashing and I can not turn it off. Help 🙏🙏

When updating, you can only have one of the devices connected at a time. If both are connected it causes an error.

Hello, I’m having trouble with the focus wheel. When you turn it the motor works so slow. You have to turn it multiple times to move the focus ring. Is there a way to adjust the focus speed. Or maybe it is like that because I haven’t calibrate the hard stops? How do we calibrate the focus motor? Please let me know as I need to figure out for my shoot. I’d really appreciate it. Thank you

You ever find a fix for this? When I plug in the zoom motor the follow focus all of the sudden doesn’t work. Only zoom. Until I unplug the zoom cable then focus motor is alive

Hi I am sorry it was a long time ago I honestly don't remember. I guess my problem was with the speed of the focus motor and after calibrating the problem was fixed if I remember correct. Sorry I wish I could help. @@danielfarnam1804

Hello, Please for help: my setup: Canon 5DMIV with 24-70 lens. I have a big Problem with Focus 1. I read the Manual that on the lens should be set to Autofocus and follow focus in the camera is set to off. I can't focusing very smooth from first plan to second plan because the focus engine is active and when i rotate the Focus Wheel the motor from lens is very loud and he ''beats'' with the Engine from Gimbal for Focus. Ann when I set on the lens to Manual Focus I am not able to focusing this dont works. I can only focusing smoothly when the camera is not connected to the gimbal with the cable, but then I dont have any control of my camera :( 2. Second thing is that when I set Points A and B in the rocker menu, after I restart the Gimbal this is not in memory I must renew this step. Someone know something about my issues ??

It usualy still works (Canon 1dx and 24-70) even If I zoom in and out all the way. BUT the it drains the battery much faster and the Crane overheats faster. I would recommend to use the zoom Feature only if necessary. Balance it in a "middle" position (maybe 40mm) and try to not deviate so far from that ALL the time.

When you zoom and keep it zoomed for too long, the gimbal will overheat and will lose connection with the camera. The camera will jerk down like dead. You will have to turn off the gimbal and turn it back on again.

You would have to order new ones, or take one of the ones you have to a hardware store and see if they can match it

Hello everyone! Can someone help me recover my Zhiyun Crane 3 Lab gimbal? I wanted to update the firmware and apparently everything was done correctly, but when I turned it back on it no longer had software!!!! It said that the firmware is 0.00 I HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME!
