I have read that it is better to use a Smallrig half cage because it is hard to place the camera on the center, which will make it hard to assemble the follow focus and zoom motor. What do you think? Have you had problems with the full cage? Thanks!

@@SteveT__001 I think when you never used a gimbal and you are an freehand shooter you have to practice a lot at the first time. My first shots looks not so bad, but you have always think about the shot twice. Sometimes i realy like to shoot freehand. But the Gimal it self is an amazing thing and it every € or $ worth.

Thanks for the Review. I wonder if you have any Infos about the moza air X which should be pretty comparable to this one. Especially the hdmi in and the ability to track a subject is a killer feature and would change my workflow drastically but I somewhat like gudsen and prefer the airX which seems to have almost the same feature set adding a pimped thumbcontroller (love it on my aircross). you connect the camera to the gimbal and then the gimbal creates a WiFi network that you connect to using your phone. Once connected you start up the free Zhiyun app so you can see the video feed.

I have tried the preset options as well as custom values but can't seem to get rid of jitters while even doing a slow walk, trying to analyse what I might be doing wrong here. Im using the BMPCC 4k with the Tilta cage (offset to the last 1/4 screw hole closest to battery) and paired it with a Helios 58mm mounted through a Viltrox M4/3 to EF converter.

When I connect either one of the two, it works fine, but when I connect both at the same time, only the zoom servo works through the handle rocker. The follow focus doesn’t work. The wheel doesn't do anything. I’ve tried in both movie mode and manual mode and I still have the same issue. I have also set the lens to both AF and MF and I still have the same issue. My gimbal is attached to the Sony a7iii with a Sony 24-105 lens. Any advice on what could be wrong here?

I mounted the bmpcc4k to the gimbal directly because the cage I have on the camera has different 1/4 20 threads on the bottom so it allowed me to easily offset the camera to the left by 1/2 inch. Without a cage like that you would need a plate that offsets the camera

Hi. I have a question. I recently bought the Zhiyun Crane 3 Lab. And I have the MASTER PACK but the WEEBILL LAB model. therefore I have a single motor and I want to use it to control the focus. I am having a problem. When I connect the motor to either of the transmitter's two inputs, it just lets me control it from the "zoom" control and not from the "focus wheel" on the gimbal. This is the only video I found where they only use a single motor. You have an idea of how to control it with the "focus control wheel"

It would appear that zhiyun has completely overlooked the idea of using camcorders with this, even though smaller ones like the XA10 or XF400 may apparently fit (without the XLR holder handle) and are certainly within the weight limit. Only SLRs are listed on the compatible camera lists.

** ANYONE THAT USES A BMPCC4K AND/OR THE ZHIYUN CRANE 3 LAB: ** that little box plate on the base of the BMPCC4K, you have an HDMI plugged in i think, is that separate? or WITH the Crane 3? -- I wanna make sure this will work with my attachments - I have a BMPCC4K, an External Monitor (only monitor arm i see on amazon is for CRANE 3, not 3 LAB..idk if it matters), an SSD with mount (top of cage), -- I cant figure out how i can run an HDMI from monitor to the Crane 3 LAB/camera with it rotating around, as well as figure out how I can run my shotgun mic to the camera... im not having luck running straight in - just using laptop and scarlet solo interface externally.. then syncing in post. EVEN IN A WORLD where you gave me a solution to each of my problems above, how would i be able to do that VORTEX MODE or walk around during a scene and not worry about my wires/cables twisting all around and for the shotgun mic sound im not sure the best way to attach my Rode NTG3 to my set up in a 'run and gun' way of filming yet. I have to bring a cart to put my macbook on, set up my interface and audio recording software, set mic somewhere stable, and NOT move too much since my mic cable is only 20ft long (XLR). I know i may be overthinking it but i wanna jump out somewhere with my friend and film some walk and talk stuff with the CRANE 3 LAB with an external monitor and my SSD attached as well as use my RODE NTG3 for sound INTO the camera but idk anything about phantom power or how to use it direct in. I’ve been using the ronin-m as my go to gimbal lately. I still think they’re one of the best ones for heavier/bigger cameras like my C100 mk2. I have a MOZA air I was using with my DSLR but just can’t seem to get my C100 mk2 balanced on it. Since it’s an older gimbal you can pick them up used on eBay for less than half the price of a new one. I got mine for $485 used, it was missing a couple accessories but I think it was definitely worth it especially since they included a $200 custom fit pelican case with it, I may have just found a really good deal but I saw a lot of similar deals when I was shopping for mine.

I do a lot of field recording and being able to just mount my field recorder directly to the gimbal was mostly important to me. Smaller setups are often clunky and need extra grips/counterweights and the creator pack comes with a monopod and camera belt. Probably overkill, but it's mostly used in a home studio anyway. Tom Antos thanks for the help. After some more snooping around through forums and reviews, my gimbal video transmitter might be the issue. Luckily, I have about a month left to replace it. Nice contents by the way 😃

I returned mine once I found out that the US support line was just a voicemail that the company ignores. I received one with a minor defect and thankfully returned it in time for a full refund instead of having to pay myself to send it to China and wait for months like the previous commenter here. I loved the Air 2, but Gudsen is a trash company if you are in the US or really just outside of China at all.

I am about to return my 2nd brand new Moza Air 2 in a weeks time. The 1st one the joystick would stick in the down position. The pan motor on the 2nd one is hurky jerky and the gimbal shut down completely a handful of times using it a few hours yesterday. Balance shows perfect and auto tuned. Goodsen never answered an email I sent 3-4 weeks ago before even purchasing the 1st one, so maybe that was a sign of things to come. I give up, bad QC and customer service with Moza, not trying a 3rd one and moving on.

To anyone thinking about buying this product, if you need to rely on the app, DO NOT BUY THIS.. their app is garbage.. I am seriously considering returning this... this is not addressed in the video.. this video is an advertisement and can not be believed

Still the footage looks kinda jerky. Or maybe it's the colours and terrible composition that's setting me off. Are you using a Metabones Speedbooster with the 24mm lens? And is it an Ultra or a XL?

He does not address the lag on the phone or the problems using the app.. cant take any review seriously if they dont go into this in detail.. you can not pull focus with a smartphone because of the lag.. if you plan on using an 80d, the app with cell phone is useless.. you also cant adjust iso, shutter speed, aperture.. all you can do is press record.. at least that works

Why would I have to talk about something I clearly show in the video. That is why I show the live video feed and me waving my hands so you can clearly see the lag. Yes there is lag. I used the app regardless to monitor my shot and to pull focus but as you can see in all the example shots they are slow moving. If you plan to do fast moving shots the you will need to look at the camera screen or get an expensive wireless video system. Like I say in the video for more info always check out my website. The article I post there had extra info. Thanks for watching.

@@TomAntos in my opinion it wasn't clearly shown, and unless u say it outright, a lot of ppl won't see that and assume the system is working perfectly, which can cost them time and money. Can't remember the last time I visited an off site link from a video review to read a more in depth review either 😅 I do like ur videos a lot though and appreciate all your work u do

Everything I know about filmmaking from color correction to what cameras to buy to how to create a short film how to create a full feature film how to market your film I learned on KZread without having to pay for a class! Why are you promoting Skillshare they make money out of how many viewers view their lessons they’re just being greedy along with you . Today education has taken a new turn thanks to KZread anything you want to learn you go to KZread if you want to learn how to make a silencer or a bom or anything you can go to KZread you don’t have to pay for classes today! So Skillshare can make their money from viewers not subscriptions to their lessons because anything they have it on KZread for free so shame on you for getting people like me who view your lessons trying to promote Skillshare just to you can make extra cash

Jay Freeman I owned both and stuck with the Crane 3. I am 6’1and weigh about 170 dripping wet. The Cranes shape allows me to hold it much better. I also like that it can handle my EOSR along with the Tamron 24-70G2 much better than the Ronin. Also with the Ronin I had to remember settings as opposed to having dedicated buttons like the crane. The dedicated lcd allows me to change my aperture, etc right from the handle. The Ronin was my first electronic gimbal but after shooting with it I immediately picked up the Weebil lab (sent it back) and then the crane. I could keep going on but I will say that in my humble opinion the Crane works better for me and my scrawny arms.
