名作中の「座頭市」ばかりが見られるとは皆様もお幸せでしょう！私はこの作品の殆どの作品の助監督として。参画致しました。勝さんがもっとも脂の乗り切った時の、大映京都撮影所の作品です。中でもお正月作品として年末に製作された名優『近衛十四郎』さんの殺陣は物凄いものでした。美術は下石坂さん、東京芸大出身の新進気鋭の美術監督であの立体的な塀の設計が奥行きを感じさせています。勿論音楽は当時東京芸大音楽部の名誉教授であられた『伊福部昭』先生でした。あの名作『ゴジラ』はじめ大映京都が誇る「大魔神シリーズ」音楽を担当いただきました。映画界で活躍された教え子たち『芥田川也寸志』『山本直純』さんたちも素晴らしい人材でした。

Great concept, great expressions! Tattoos are amazing like originals from ancient one. Gambling was from old palace thing in Anapji in Kyungju. A blind man showed the deep interpretation of universe as a warrior in our ordinary life.

Zatoichi is one of the best Japanese cinema characters to ever grace the screen. Immediately after seeing one of these films over 25 years ago, he became one of my all time favorites ever and I've collected every one of his films and a ton of the tv series as well. One of the best. Shintaro is superb as Zatoichi!!!! Classic

Zatoichi is a straight up bad-ass! One of my favorite characters of all time. Forget comic book heroes, Ichi is the real deal!

I love this show, very well done and we never had anything this good on US television.

臭い！ なんか、臭い、匂いまで感じる芝居！ 今後、こんな芝居は見れねーだろう。 さすが勝先生、脱帽です。

声って大事だな。台詞の言い回しが渋過ぎる。こりゃ人気もでるわ。

この緊張感、痺れる‼️ 何時みても勝さんの座頭市は最高ですね🎵

「あ、斬れまして(呆れまして)ございますか？」洒落までカッコいい市さん。

この時代ええ俳優いました、脇役、監督、脚本家、音楽家全てそろっていました、座頭市は任侠映画やけどユーモアあり人情ありの子どもが見ても面白い映画でした。

Thank you for piecing together these scenes in a very enjoyable and professional manner. In the 1970's I lived in San Francisco CA USA north of a neighborhood called Japan Town. In it there was a Japanese language movie theater, all with English subtitles. Besides big films like Kurosawa works ( that few Americans knew ) they played film after film of Zato Ichi movies ( that no one knew ) and I fell in love with them. Unemployed at the time I would spend hours, sometimes all day, sitting there watching Shintaro Katsu;s work back to back and his gambling scenes were his best. Katus-San was a known wild man of the Japanese film industry. He is famous for director Akira Kurosawa casting him for the lead role in "Kagemusha" only to leave before the first day of shooting,and had known Yakuza relationships.

Thank you for sharing your personal experience. Like you, I fell in love with the heroic actions of Ichi, but could only watch the first few releases before migrating to another country where foreign films were rarely shown, let alone Japanese ones. I did not catch up with all 26 movies until recent years. I did not even know then that Katsu-San had also made 4 seasons of TV series on Zatoichi. Yes, I heard about him going rogue from a Japanese friend of mine some years back. Jimmy Wang, of one-armed swordsman fame (see Zatoichi Meets the One Armed Swordsman) also went rogue and nearly went to jail for bloody gang fights in Taiwan (Taiwan's equivalent to Yakuza). It goes to show what we see in movies may not necessarily be translated into what we know in real life.

初めて座頭市を観たのが3日くらい前 最初に見たのは白飯をむさぼる動画で、気持ち悪い食い方する男だなーと 思ってたけど、そこから座頭市を観だして今は完全に惚れてしまっている。 ワンピースの藤虎の元だったんですね！あとこの人が勝慎太郎って方だったんですね。 かっこよすぎる

My Japanese grandmother used to take me to the movies to see Zatoichi in Japan when I was little. It was the best! I miss her!

Unbelievable speed. Watched this series many times over the decades. Hard to find now. Glad YT has some episodes.

저시대에 저런영화가 나왔다는 자체가 대단하다, 지금의 일본영화수준보다 높다

見事な第一作。何度観ても感嘆します。勝新太郎の凄み、三隅監督の腕の冴えが観る者を圧倒します。脚本も上手く出来ている。私は次の第二作と「血煙街道」も大好きです。

何度観ても面白いですね。 ブルース・リーと勝新太郎は不世出のアクションスターだと思います。 感情の機微を表情や所作で魅せる事も出来る俳優。

一番目は「座頭市鉄火旅」、二番目の船中博打は「座頭市地獄旅」ともに良作ですが、特に「地獄旅」は作中屈指の超傑作です。

歯が抜けてたり、リアルな画面だわ…。座頭市、最高です

Love Zatoichi! I have the DVD collection and watch them all once a year!

こんな俳優、もう出てこんは。

座頭市の「賭場」は見せ場のひとつ。今の邦画にはない緊張感。 これらに作品が普通に鑑賞できた時代が懐かしい。

座頭市シリーズには欠かせない悪役俳優の伊達三郎さんや須賀不二男さん。味のある好きな俳優さんでした。

藤田まことの仕事人の居合も好きだけど、座頭市がこんなに格好良いとは知らなんだ。 素敵、惚れるわ。

What a fantastic character/series!

It was great seeing him in that scene with his real life Brother Wakayama Tomisaburo. Two of the greatest characters in Japanese Cinema played - Zatoichi and Ogami Itto - by two brothers, great actors. Probably the only two actors who could have pulled off those two roles.

その通りです勝新さんしかありえない他の役者がやっても真似出来無い

按摩にはランクがあり、そのうち座頭は一番下。また、梅一、松一など一を名乗る取り決めだが市と名乗っている。つまり、もぐりの按摩ということになる。そういったアウトローで無頼なキャラが魅力!

I liked the black and white Zatoichi programs especially the with Tono Eijiro in it.

今見ると単なる"遊び場"なのかもしれないが、一度足踏み入れると金なんて表向きの賭け元で、とんでもない身を削るかもしれない場だったってことがお芝居から伝わるんです。素晴らしい

But simultaneously, others are also allowed to have katanas for self-defense, which means, "In case you pulled out your katanas, you can't complain about being killed." That's why Zatoichi will never attack first and use Iai-jutsu(fast-pulling katanas) so that he can kill anybody attacks him first.

btw i just want to say as a compliment to the uploader - the traditional mandarin translation is extremely excellent.
