Zatoichi's eating scene is the best.

Zatoichi movies seem somewhat reminiscent of " Spaghetti western movie " starring Clint Eastwood in 80s-90s; Clint Eastwood is tantamount w/ Shintaro Katsu or Zatoichi. Both are on the side of weak, poor, & honest people. The obvious difference is the weapon that has been used to take care of those useless & harmful rogues whose existence is like that of parasites; namely, Gun vs Katana. Possibly unbeatable one & only entertaining TV movies that must have been second to none!,,,,Thoroughly enjoyed, admired, & appreciated it to the core at the comfort of my home. (02/18/24)

This has to be the best series I have ever watched, period. It has all the qualities that I admire, and all the actors are magnificent! Every episode is a lesson in life, beautiful! I discovered you last night, and I cannot stop watching it, wow!

Very touching story. Morally, ethically, and emotionally. There's life lessons to be learned in this.

The girl who played Amon was really good in the part , although I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bad actor in any of these movies

I HAVENT SEEN A BETTER ACTOR THAN HIM

I had a cat , he was stocky build with gray short hair,he didn't see well but was a really good hunter , when he was like only 9 - 10 months old he got a squirrel almost his size, around 3 years old he was "king of the hill" in the neighborhood , he also love to do a massage with his paws, we called him Ichy 😂

I really admire how Zato Ichi starts very politely with people at first sight, in spite of his extraordinary power, then he turns so aggressive with whoever doesn't deserve it. !!!

Some viewers have a hard time with this series because they don't like seeing Ichi kill so many men. I can understand that. It is a bit much sometimes. However, by the time he starts slicing and dicing, there was no other solution. What I have a hard time with is watching Ichi-san eat. It's X-rated dining. It's totally disgusting.

I'm not sure why exactly he spared Gonji so many times, he would always just come back to cause more trouble. He usually kills guys that squandered the gift of life he gave them the second time around since they showed they would continue to make the same mistakes and showed no appreciation.

Ichi saved Gonji's life perhaps because Gonji was jealous. Ichi is parhaps kind to the person who has been disappointed in love.

Because in his past he was a yakuza but then he decided to leave that life and earn his living as a masseuse. That's why they are always following him to kill him, and it is because of his past. And although he no longer lives the life of a yakuza, he still respects the code. These are things that they tell you in the movies that predate the series.
