At this point in this series, Yakuza lords' minds never change whenever Zatoichi is around. "Let's take him out!" and in the end they just dig their own graves.

I want to thank the posting of these, and comment on how beautiful and sharp this recent batch has been! I saw something I have never seen before in this episode. There is writing on Ichi’s mantle! It was barely visible but clearly there were some hiragana characters on it. If I were to guess I would think that maybe it was an awning or some such from an abandoned inn or rest stop that Ichi ‘repurposed’ for his meager comfort, but maybe there is a deeper story to this in Zatoichi lore I don’t know. Any thoughts?

​@@samuraivsninjaMuy amable por sus palabras. Zatoichi es la personificación de los valores de la humanidad. Muchos queremos tener un poco de Zatoichi en nuestras vidas. Su sabiduría. Sus valores. Su humildad. Su humanismo. Tengo una película de este gran personaje. Compré la película en 2003 ( DVD ). Desconocía que existiera toda una serie de películas. Fue una agradable noticia. Zatoichi es un gran mentor ( el que enseña con el ejemplo ). Sigamos el humilde sendero de sus huellas. Tenemos mucho que aprender. Me imagino a Zatoichi saludando allá desde el lejano horizonte. Un vigoroso y sincero saludo a esta gran comunidad.

The act of betting one's wife in a gamble in this series reminds me of the oldies story I was told about our ancestors giving their palm oil, plantain, crude oil, and even their children as slaves, etc. in exchange for an ordinary mirror... 😂😂😂
