I can't express enough how stunning this is. His playing embodies sparkle, crystalline clarity, subtle nuance, elegance, nobility, passion, wit, sadness, and even agony! He truly deserved to win the Mozart Prize.

Everybody is enjoying the music.

It’s become my routine to visit Cliburn channel to listen to Yunchan’s Mozart. Every time I listen to this Mozart I find new aspects of this music. What a beautiful harmony between the piano and the orchestra as well as within the orchestra itself.

Mozart would be happy.

A masterpiece played by a young master.

Yunchan said in his recent interview that this was the most physically challenging round because he finished Liszt transcendental the day before late at night. Yet, he was able to pull out the most beautiful masterpiece performance.. Yunchan is a living treasure..

After rach 3, this is another performance I love so much.

i had the great honor of seeing this pianist yesterday with the Boston Symphony in the Rachmaninov 3rd. He plays with a relaxed body and such obvious pleasure at the keyboard! A peak experience.

여러분~본인 연주 시작전에 예쁘게 앉아 오케스트라를 바라보며 살랑살랑~리듬을 타며 연주 감상하는 윤찬군의 모습을 좀 봐주세요~원래 협연 연주자들은 본인 연주 시작전에 본인 연주 파트 기다리며 그냥 조용히 앉아있는경우가 많은데 저렇게 오케스트라분들 바라보면서 겸손한 자세로 교감을 나누는 모습이 너무 인상적이네요 그렇게 기다리다 본인 파트 나오면 또 얼마나 야무지고 아름답게 연주해내는지....저는 라흐3만큼 이 연주자체도 너무 좋았지만 도입부에 윤찬군 모습이 넘넘 킬링포인트라는ㅠㅠ

이 영상 왜케 좋지…? 지휘자님도 콩콩 춤추듯 지휘하시고 윤찬군도 웃으면서 연주하고 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 초절기교나 라흐마니노프 같이 스스로를 고독하고 처절하게 내몰아내는 예술가로서의 연주도 좋았지만, 이렇게 가벼운 마음으로 자유롭게 즐기는 연주를 보니 뭔가 마음이 놓인달까? 윤찬군의 일생이 외롭지만은 않은 것 같아 다행이다 너무 스스로를 몰아붙이지 않았으면 좋겠다 가끔은 이 모짜르트 곡처럼 춤도 추고 노래도 부르고 떡볶이도 사먹고 그랬으면 좋겠다

윤찬군은 협주 협연을 좋아하는거 같더라구요. 친구들과도 협연 많이 하는거 같구요. 외로운 예술가 스타일은 아닌거 같아요. 음악을위해 스스로 고독으로 들어갈때도 있겠지만요.

I'm blown away by how productive Yunchan Lim teen age years while having fun showcasing his talent!

Yunchan interviewed, when he played this he thought of Little Prince. The Little prince is just like Yunchan himself. Innocent, pure,,,,,

ngl, mozart isn't one of my favorite composers, but yunchan lim plays it so well this is one of the best things i've ever had the pleasure of hearing.

Watching Yunchan smile makes me smile. You can tell he is playing his favorite composer, and his happiness radiates to the viewer. Thank you, for making the world happy with Mozart and your phenomenal talent and force. 🥰🎹🎼

HE PLAYS FANTASTICALLY...

what i personally like about his playing...in this case, mozart...he does not have the "cute" character so COMMON among "mozart players" even those renowned...his lines have real PRESENCE and it s as if he is SPEAKING through the phrases...and NONE of the "HOLDING BACK THE PIANO SOUND TO SOUND LIKE MOZART" Like so MANY teachers or the educational system "teaches" ....LOSING the DRAMATIC , OPERATIC tension of mozart's instrumental works...

I'm assuming that the Cliburn didn't grant The Mozart Award to the Yunchan Lim intentionally due to the cliburn didn't want to Yunchan Lim possesses All of the Awards

21년 수원시향이랑 했던거랑 진짜 마디단위로 면밀하게 차이점 듣는 중인데 넘 재밌다ㅠㅠ 페달링, 스타카토 길이도 다르고.. 강조하는 음도 달라지고.. 이미 정교했지만 더 더더 섬세하게 다듬은 느낌.. 와.ㅠ 이 소년이 좁은 연습실에서 외로이 견뎠을 시간들에 경의를 표합니다..ㅠㅠ

I can see his smile and joy of playing this piece on his face

협주곡, 특히 피협의 경우 지휘자, 오케, 피아니스트간의 모종의 힘겨루기가 말 그대로 전설처럼 등장하는데, 전에는 응, 그럴 수 있지, 서로들 레전드니 자기 해석이 필연적일 거고 그러다 보면 충돌이 있을 수 있지....라고 긍정적으로 생각했던 것 같다. 근데 윤찬이 보내는, 그걸 받는 지휘자와 오케의 티키타카를 보고 있자면 그래, 협주란 말이 왜 있을까? 작곡가의 의도는 어쨋든 콘체르토용으로 머리 싸매고 작곡한 것 아닌가? 악기를 통해 서로 주고받음서 연주해 나아가는 묘미, 그게 없다면, 그냥 독주하면 되고 소나타든 바가텔 형식이든, 기타 등등 하면 되는 것을;;;;(윤찬은 콩쿨 이후 놀랍게도 소품이라 여겨지는 피아노 연습곡들로 순회 레퍼토리를 짜고 있음) 윤찬의 협연 방식은 협주곡이 갖는 속성을 이미 잘 파악하고 하모니를 이루는, 역대급으로 지휘자들과 오케의 행복지수를 높이고, 그걸 보고 듣는 나 역시 어느새 행복한 마음으로 가득한 시간이 된다. 더 굉장한 건, 여러 번 반복해 들어도 한치의 지루함이 없다는 것. 경이로울만큼.......!

그는 때론 오케스트라 단원처럼... 때론 솔로연주자처럼... 때론 지휘자처럼 연주한다...하지만 절대 그들과 등돌려 앉아있지는 않는다... 그들과 함께 호흡하고 자신의 호흡을 계획된 강도로 건반을 누르며 우리를 숨멋하게한다... 그는 숨을쉬고 있는데 마치 숨조차 쉬지않고 연주하는듯하다.. 난 숨을 언제 쉬어야할지 타이밍을 못잡고 내 심장소리를 오롯이 느끼면서 이걸 보고 듣고 느끼고있다... 나쁜사람이다...숨이차다...

Yunchan moved his body to the rhythm first and continuosly the conductor did like Yunchan . I feel happy watching them enjoy this brilliant performance. I love this moment..^^

난 아무것도 모른다 다만 임윤찬을 통해클래식을 알게되었고 자꾸만듣고싶고 하루종일 피아노소리가 귀언저리를 맴돈다 임윤찬이란 사람이 없었다면 난 아마도 죽을때까지 클래식은 나와 아무런 상관이 없는 타인이 즐기는 음악정도로만 알았을것이다. 요즘 내마음은 더 풍로워지고 여유로워졌다. 딱딱했던 심장이 말랑말랑해진 느낌.....나와같은 동시대에 태어나준 임윤찬님께 감사드린다.

맞죠!!! 의자에 앉기전까지 엉거주춤한 자세도 귀여워요 ^-^ 건반에 손이 올라간 순간부터는 카리스마 철철 넘쳐요~^♡^

임윤찬의 벤 클라이번 경연에서의 이 연주들은 내 인생에서 가장 소중한 클래식 음악 장면의 하나로 남을 것 같다.
