Those Bagatelles... what a genius.

What a daring choice of programme for a young virtuoso who has won the Cliburn with Rach 3. Yunchan Lim makes this technically less complicated music breathe with new life and gives an incredible depth to it. An exceptiional talent!

Bach personified into a being. Feels like a sincere spiritual seeker walking around somewhere out there. Doesn't lose a single moment of being present. Strongly meditative and lets the listener submerge deep inside oneself. Truly amazing considering he is still a teenager.

It is such a pleasure to sit back and listen to the beauty of this music as interpreted by the gentle and gifted young Yunchan Lim. The music seems to come from his very soul. Thank you so much, Yunchan, and to all responsible for this wonderfully produced concert.

Thank you for this download. It shows Yunchan's brilliant adaptability and his broad knowledge of the piano repertoire. He has said his concert choices are made in discussion with his marvellous teacher, and I feel he has been well guided in these early days of his concert work. I have heard these items in two other recitals but they are all somewhat different, which demonstrates his liking of exploring the works he plays more and more and the works coming up sounding fresh..

This is an incredibly beautiful collection and performance. I'm blown away by his artistry, sensitivity and pure talent. The accolades are well deserved indeed!!👏Bravo Yunchan!!

This eroica variation performance by Yunchan Lim is the best which he played so far, it is a bit complement performance today, so dynamic and deep, can’t be estimated. I have been listening too many Beethoven special pianists like Kempff, Gileles, Richter, Brendel, etc , But this performance by Yunchan Lim today is surpassing all other performances . It is the historical stage l assure.

Not true! This student Yunchan Lim played colorless cold dry piano sound Rach concerto no 3 in the Cliburn finals! Dimitri Bashkirov her teacher Anastasia Virsaladze teach saying to Bashkirov the most important lesson is the Love of beautiful colorful piano sound! More colorful beautiful piano sound than student Yunchan Lim=Wilhelm Kempff Emil Gilels Radu Lupu Artur Rubinstein Vladimir Ashkenazy! This student Yunchan Lim should study hard next 6 years with a good teacher to get more colorful sound! Long way to go Student Yunchan Lim to be greatest like Sviatoslav Richter Solomon Cutner!

@@RaineriHakkarainen We heard very different performances of Rach 3. I heard a mature prodigy who actually out-styled Horowitz IN Horowitz's style. "Colorless, cold, and dry"? I heard warmth and real-time thoughtfulness, as though the virtuosity was a given and all he needed do was channel the music to suit how he felt it on the day. Special mention goes to the surprisingly tranquil "mezzopiano" mode he played the intricate accompaniment when the orchestra takes over the main theme for the first time in the 1st movement. That's a mature artistic decision to sit back just when the piano part gets harder, rather than rock out. Still, *to each their own!* and I certainly hope he gets even better.

Have you ever considered that the “cold” sound could be due to the Steinway he played at the Cliburn, as well as the recording/hall? So far in his solo recital videos I’ve heard much more color, warmth, and variety in his sound, likely due to better instruments, performance venues, and recording technology. I think you’re being unnecessarily harsh.

에로이카 변주곡 너무 너무 좋네요^^ 몰아치는 연주에서 급 서정적으로 전환하거나 할 때 저까지 숨이 멎는 듯한 느낌이에요... 오늘 네시간째 임윤찬씨의 베토벤 쇼팽 바흐를 돌려들으며 올핸 꼭 연주회에 가야겠다 다짐을 또 해봅니다.. 작년 예당에서 듣고 감동의 쓰나미였어요

You have transformed JSB's 'Inventions', which many people regard as only pedagogic exercises, into wonderful musical experiences. I wish you could transfer your insight to organists who play Bach's music as if was written by and for an intellectual robot.
