Yu-Gi-Oh Starter Box Opening - Second YGO Product Ever Released!

Ойындар

In this video, I showcase the contents of the Yu-Gi-Oh Starter Box, a collection of goodies that released on March 18th, 1999. I recommend checking out my "History of the Yu-Gi-Oh Card Game Part 1" first for historical context and more information.
I'm still new to doing these videos, so please excuse the camera focus and framing issues. This will all go away in future videos.

I honestly find it charming how the cards are worn and the game log is filled out. Watching that I feel a bit of a connection with the life of the kid who played with this set. That kind of thing is my favorite part of looking at antiques and collectables.

Agreed. It makes me cherish the product a lot more than if it were brand new. You can tell that this was once special to someone.

It's kind of amusing seeing Flame Swordsman in the same rarity as Blue Eyes, but hey i guess it was a different time in Yu-Gi-Oh!'s history.

I’m actually working on a “what if it was released in the TCG today” version and having these items translated would be a huge help. I’m even re-illustrating the art in the modern style.

I love how some of these cards show some wear, indicating that they were the ones that were used the most.

The early japanese version of the game is so interesting. Can't wait for the next part of the History of Yugioh series.

I just got the japanese 25th anniversary kaiba briefcase blue eyes set for the original lay out of the cards since the only other way to get a set of secret rare original art blue eyes with this original attk and def layout was to sell my house, car, and all my organs

Were the star chips used for any practical purposes? Like you were able to get into a tournament if you obtained enough like in the anime?

Will you do anything with the Bandai cards from 98?

To be honest, you'd probably have been crucified if you opened a new starter box, they're likely insanely rare if any do exist.
