These are the original Bandai OCG cards from 1998/1999. They were almost always sold out and if Konami’s Duel Monsters game boy game didn’t sell well Bandai would still be in control of Yugioh now. Some cards made their first appearance here instead of the manga, the red eyes seen here could be pulled from a Bandai carddass machine before it was even introduced in the story

The puzzle card is the "first fusion" for Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon. In the YU GI OH serie season 0 Kaiba use a spell card to bind 3 blue Eyes. It looks like a Red crane like triangle with chain, the 3 combined got 9 000 ATK. The funny thing is that Pokemon start to do "puzzle cards" like the break ones for example almost 20 years later x) Impressive to see the Alpha version of Yu Gi Oh! =)

I would definitely buy reprints of those original arts Blue Eyes and Red Eyes in the TCG. Especially that Red Eyes. Too bad they are likely forever lost in time. They all look amazing!

These cards were made when yugioh season 0 was made and I didnt even know that they made the cards at the time

I know I'm 7 months late but I'm just discovering this channel. Pretty much this are cards that were shown in the season 0 of yugioh, this is before the yugioh we all know today. I was so excited when you showed the 3 hecate cards! Season 0 es really different but I love it.

As someone who was played Yu-Gi-Oh in the LoB days, I was interested in everything Yu-Gi-Oh and learned about these cards from a Yu-Gi-Oh magazine in 2003 and always wanted some. It strikes me as odd that so many players (even older ones) have never seen these, not even pictures.

I was at nats in like 2013 and the Eric Stuart was there and I got him to sign my Bandai blue eyes and it was the first one he’s ever seen. Was pretty cool.

9:33 - That's Kumori Dragon. In the Yugioh Duel Monsters anime it appears in episode 2 when Yugi faces Pegasus in a shadow game.

Nope, the Konami game promos came out after the first generation of Bandai cards. The Bandai gen 1 cards are the original for yugioh, the red eyes for example came out before it was even in the manga

The Konami Duel Monster video Game promo cards were released after Bandai. But before Konami got the rights to do the OCG and TCG Versions of the game Some of them are the hardest to find cards though

Its neat to read the Japanese titles. Celtic Guardian is Elf Swordsman. 5:39 says "Night Soldier" or "Knight Soldier". 5:50 is "King Beetle" Though likely also a play on words as "Kin" means gold

Buddy, considering the vintage of those things,you really have no idea the gold mine you are in possession of. Every single one of them is something that was in the original Yu-Gi-Oh, before it even aired in the States. Prototypes, to boot. And including the Five Pieces? Dude, you had better lock those things in a vault somewhere (and I'm not joking).

Their not prototypes. Bandai held the rights to make cards before Konami got it. Bandai games plays a lot diffirently then Konami's game. The Star level is used to determed who wins the game over how powerful a monster is. A quick search of the Yugioh wiki will tell how to play the game and all of the cards. Only the 2 BEWD (1 in Jappaness and 1 in English), The Exodia cards, the 4 parts of Bandai's version of BEUD, the chain card that is in the middle of the Bandai Wantabe BEUD, and the Promo BEUD as a single care are the only money cards Most of the cards can be picked up for under $5 to $10 each some of the character cards as low as $3 at times. The Character cards also contained the ruled for the game split amoung all of the characters.

I actually have a set of cards I bought as a souvenir when I went to Japan with my father. Yu Gi Oh didn't exist outside of Japan yet. I just kept seeing Yugi's face plastered everywhere. Bought a manga (vol 13. Yes, the one in Duelist Kingdom where Kaiba threatens to jump off the castle) Hardly understood anything that was happening, but it was cool and the cards seemed to be a big thing. So I bought a booster off a machine that dispensed them. One of the cards had nothing but text and (1/6) printed on it. Figured it might be the rules. Bought them till I had all 6. Never imagined it'd come to NA. Let alone it becoming so popular here. So now I can confidently say that I'm most likely the FIRST person outside of Japan to ever collect Yu-Gi-Oh cards. I still have them all in a small pinewood box beside me. And no, none of those cards were anything good. XD Also accidentally bought a pack that didn't have the (1/6) cards. I always thought they were just spoofs. But I guess that booster was the OG set of cards. Got Great Moth, Celtic Guardian (same as yours) and some other monster I know exists in TCG form, but can't remember the name of for the life of me. You have a copy of it at 14:38 middle from the top, rightmost card.

btw the gate guardian bandai card is like the rarest bandai card worth a lot of money so if you get it. yeah

The pictures are accurate to the manga, so if you never read it, I don't blame you for not recognizing them. Also the last girl isn't Shizuka Kawai (Serenity Wheeler) it's Miho Nosaka. She was a part of a chapter in the manga, but got a bigger role in the first adaptation of the YuGiOh! anime, also known as season 0.

I own a small handful of these cards, got Suijin, Kazejin and Sanga. but no Gate Guardian. i love the design of the 1998 cards, personally.

It is even more fun when you get 80 cards and thoroughly explain the rules to a friend and play REAL duel monsters, it's super fun when you learn the limited card pool, I suggest getting enough cards to play with and sleeve them of course

I had Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon with 5125 atk because used his ability three times by usin ovrley stealers ability to steal teh last ovrley unit of thunder end dragon and Thunder End Dragons attack became 375 to win i neded to do the same again i could do it with Riryoku but it cant be done cuz 375÷2= 187,5 some thing like that has never hapened. So I don't know if anyone explained it in the comments, but the puzzle that he has is blue eyes ultimate dragon... Sort of. It is the ultimate dragon, I forget how specifically you summon it but you need all 3 blue eyes and a chain card that combines the 3, then you need the 4 cards that make up the whole card. There's more I'm probably forgetting. Also you selling those Exodia pieces, I've been looking for years for the Bandai Exodia pieces, would be perfect for my collection

The 4 parts of Blue-Eyes 3 Body Connection is not BEUD It is Bandai's version of what Kaiba did in the Original YGO Movie (Not the Pyramid Movie) They released it as 4 cards and re-released it as a single card.

Whoa. Pegasus's Dragon Capture Jar had 100 attack and 200 defense in the anime, now I understand why.

The Puzzle Card is actually called "Blue-Eyes White Dragon's 3 Body Connection". You had to have 3 Blue-Eyes + a magic card called "Wicked Chain" on the field to play it. It was able to attack 8 times consecutively.

You got great cards! Some cards here are worth more than most, especially the ace monsters of the main characters of Yugioh. The price or value of these cards vary greatly. I'm from the Philippines and some cards here are sold for approx. less than a Dollar. But the foils / holos are at least $5 to $10 each. However, most cards sold here are damaged. Near mint cards are hard to come by and are really expensive. I think most of these cards can only be bought in Japan (damaged / used / near mint). Some "common" cards I recently bought were around USD 1. A seller here posted these: Near Mint Blue-Eye super rare here is around USD 210 and the Red-Eyes USD 110. I don't know if these prices are credible but that's what's listed.

A lot of these cards I remember frmo the psx game Forbbiden memories (since it was the earlier days of the manga too)

Are these a good investment? I saw a full set for 275$$

Just to point out, the card at 8:56 is "Meteor Dragon". Part of the fusion req's for Meteor B(lack) Dragon along with Red Eyes. That card is ingrained in my memory from the forbidden memories ps1 game. Playing against the meadow mage repeatedly in the hopes of getting either of the cards lol!

you got about $500 ~ $1500 worth of cards. i have to check for the condition. i used to sell those OCG cards on my eBay.

That's not Serenity, her name is Miho Nosaka, basically another Teá. These cards you have though, are based after the original manga/season 0 of yugioh. When the pharaoh played all sorts of games. In the chapter/episode where they meet Kaiba, he takes them back to his mansion, and challenges Yugi to a game of duel monsters. In turn, the yugioh we have today, was never supposed to actually exist. It wasn't until the first duel between our beloved Kaiba and Yugi, that really sparked the interest. Takahashi was bombarded with letters and request and questions pertaining to the game, and once he realized that one chapter got more attention then the first few did, that's when he decided the card game would probably make him a ton. At least from what I've always read/seen about the bandai cards anyways.

Seem these illustrations are the versions used in the original manga?

Blue hair girl is not Serenity. Its Miho Nosaka in YuGiOh (1998). She did not appear in YuGiOh DL. Would like to see her there though.

I'm currently playing yugioh legacy of duelist Link Evolution. and I'm looking for a combo that summon Firewall Dragon with 3 co-link monster. so I can used Firewall Dragon's effect to return up to 3 cards. I also prefer if Firewall Dragon cannot be attack/target for effect/ cannot be destroyed. the formation like transcode, excode talker and a random card all three cards co-link with firewall dragon. and I'm looking for card that available up until end 2019 or cards that available in link evolution. thanks in advance. I watched your other video and I loved it with Mekk-knight summon.
