Yu-Gi-Oh! Gaming Custom Cards #3: Wario (and Waluigi)

Ойындар

Wario made his debut in Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins as an "anti-Mario", for lack of a better term. His partner, Waluigi, started out little differently, during his debut in Mario Tennis. However, Wario's would go on to star in his own series of games, embodying the traits of comedy, greed, and crudeness, to set himself apart from Mario.
The Greed archetype is actually meant to include most of the existing Greed TCG/OCG cards in Yu-Gi-Oh! history. Hence, there are only six custom cards, yet the focus on constant draw power and restriction against most Level/Rank/Link 4 or lower monsters creates a bizarre and unique take on Deck building. Who knows? Maybe one day, drawing 2 cards could be a microgame...

Sorry I don't have anything funny or quirky to say about this one, but it's really good, too! Making Wario and Waluigi play into the "Greed" archetype, rather than giving them their own was a really clever choice, and you pulled it off, well! Awesome work, bro!

Thanks! It's okay if if there's nothing to add. It's really just smaller archetype support anyway.

Considering the insane draw support this deck has, it makes me wonder if Exodia is a viable win-con. I can see it potentially being an issue if your opponent makes you discard one of your pieces, but it fits the whole theme of greed. One issue that I see with this deck is that if you aren’t able to get both Wario and Waluigi in your hand by the time your opponent uses Droll & Lock Bird, you’re practically a sitting duck. Although, since you can run cards that you can play during your opponent’s turn, I suppose it isn’t too big of an issue. And as I mentioned before, it does fit with the greedy nature of the deck. If Konami approached their archetypes the way you do, I feel that this game would be a lot more fun and creative to play. Keep up the good work with these videos!

Thanks! You're right - Droll & Lock Bird is a good answer against Greed. Called by the Grave may help against it, but the emphasis against low leveled monsters makes Crossout Designator a risky proposition.

Im in love of these custom card archetypes that also supports irl ygo cards to make plays such as these. Im trying to make one myself for gem-knight, yet its more harder than i thought.

Thanks! I can emphasize how difficult it can be to make custom cards. That said, Gem-Knight support might be difficult. There's already 39 different cards that are either Gem-Knights or support them (Brilliant Fusion is the 40th, but it's banned in the TCG). Maybe something that lets you mill a Normal Monster to revive one from the GY..?

@@gmaster1991 at first I was thinking "man what if I made a custom negate fusion card, if banished from GY, itll let me to recyle all gem-knights from banish and GY to deck but cant fusion summon for 2 turns." I always made some cool effect with some downside to make it balanced, yet I always worry that if its too much, or too little to matter

@@toonshinx1275 The inability to Fusion Summon in a Gem-Knight Deck for a prolonged period of time is practically a death sentence, or if they've already finished making their board, it's just a win-more card. Also, Exodius and/or Necroface already recycles the player's GY/banished cards respectively. Perhaps it should be simpler. How about a Trap that Fusion Summons a Gem-Knight Fusion Monster using only monsters on the player's field (not their hand), with the side effect that it also prevents the opponent from activating monster effects during your next Main Phase 1?
