I recommend keeping a list of every person and companies doing NFT’s because that means in general that person/company isn’t trustable. NFTS might change in the future but right now they’re scams. I don’t get how NFT’s are being pushed so hard. It’s just a pyramid scheme because they say it’s “art” when it’s just nothing. Crypto is more understandable than NFT’s. There are some art but they aren't selling nearly as well as the overhyped animals. It's good to understand that NFTs weren't made initially for art at all but it's just a narrative that was adopted for marketing. The purpose of the random animals clearly isn't about art but more on capitalizing on speculative investors who clearly don't know how markets work.

The only reason that's being pushed so hard is because the only way crypto's value can go up is if more people adopt it. The U.S. Dollar is currently backed by the "full faith and credit" of the U.S. Government. That's the official statement of the U. S. Government, look it up. Looks like the USD isn't real either.

None of these announcements excite me as a viewer. To be honest the only thing keeping me on KZread is supporting the creators I like. It’s a garbage company and makes it very clear that they support the almighty dollar over their creators and viewers. Like, they’ll demonetize a video for someone swearing while playing video games meant for older audiences , but I’ll see advertisements that are borderline porn on videos about Minecraft that are geared towards all audiences and friendly for younger people.

I hate it when businesses do scummy practices and they think that they're doing the right thing but in reality are very ignorant to how the way things work but what's more ifuriating with KZread is the fact that they know what they're doing wrong and yet they still play it off like they don't know what they're doing playing it off as if they are ignorant to the situation........ and then when anybody goes to tell youtube that they're fucking up they end up threatening your Channel........ we need another KZread platform that's going to be legit like KZread was in the beginning before it get monetized because it seems like no matter what most things in this world can start off nice but they end up becoming bad like that saying "live long enough as a hero to see yourself become a villain" or something like that.......

My favorite was still a tide pod challenge video with a tide ad playing before it.

I absolutely HATE the obvious greed that’s spewing through the KZread hierarchy. I still don’t fully understand this craze on NFT’s but I don’t like it. Any type of alternative currency I still feel can be really shady. The non-public dislike only helps AAA corporate companies that don’t have to listen to criticism of ideas they know that are bad (and it also becomes harder to sift through crappy material here since you have to watch more bad videos to find the good.) The EU story is the only good thing that “might” come out of this because it’s the only topic that to get off their greedy, lazy duffs that isn’t entirely financially motivated. Just who is actually running this company?

I don't get the whole hate around NFTs. Like yeah, it's full of get rich quick scams, but that doesn't mean there aren't legitimate uses. It can be used as simple way to support a creator and get a digital collectable item. Think about purchasing a signed autograph from someone that has been verified as legitimate. Now think about a copy of that autographed photo that looks exactly the same. Obviously, the verified original autographed photo has more value. To be clear, yes NTFs is full of scams that are sold as some get rich quick scheme. That doesn't mean people can't use it in legitimate ways. Think of it like showing your support on Patreon, but you get a digital collectable item in return. You can just say "Hey if you're into NFTs, you can support my channel by purchasing one in the link below" Its one thing selling an NFT for like $20 or $25 as a way to show support for a creator. But if your selling NFT for like $5,000 as some speculative investment, then yeah, effectively a scam, because someone will be left holding the bag

Which Patreon doesn't give. Just as a verified autograph is worth more than a copy of that autograph. Yeah, you may not care for NFTs, but doesn't mean other people don't like to collect them. There are a lot weirder things that people like to collect. I'd largely agree in some ways with you, in that in most cases NFTs are used as BS speculative investments and essentially scamming their own fans. Its one thing to sell an NFT for like 25$ or 30$ as a digital collectable item, and another to sell one for like $10000. Imagine if a famous person came out and said: "Alright anyone who wants my autograph DM me and in will give you one in exchange for $100,000. Who knows it could be worth more later!" Obviously people would be quite upset at them for price gouging their fans and implying their autograph is some kind of investment.

The reason NFTs don't make sense to you is because they're nothing. They aren't art. They were designed for art but that was before every scam artist and their brothers jumped onto it hoping to get rich. They aren't food, or clothing, or entertainment, or medicine. They aren't backed by the power of a government. They're hype. They are *NOTHING* but hype. The *SECOND* the hype starts to die, and it will, all these crypto bros telling you you're an idiot for not jumping on are going to cash out and jump ship. So they work tirelessly pumping up this shit on every social media avenue and every comment section trying to get as many people onto this as possible to increase how much they'll be getting when they cash out and bail. None of their arguments are anything of substance. They are all either "I'm making so much money!! You could be too!" or "Well, real money is a scam too!!" The second one, holy crap, is the stupidest argument imaginable. *How weak does your position have to be that "Well EVERYTHING is a scam when you think about it" is the best argument you can come up with.* The first one is more insidious because that money they're making has to come from somewhere. From someone. And they want you to think you'll get rich so that it can come from you. To them.

You actually make a great point, I can't wait for artists to sue the makers of NFT products and see them try to pay things back with actual money.

It comes across like their market research/marketing department is a little bit "too many cooks in the kitchen". Like, a single or a few people could come to more logical conclusions/solutions for what to do next, but when there's a whole bunch of people in a room, only the broadest ideas tend to flourish which don't have as much focused, critical thought as the former situation would. I could be wrong though, but that's how I'm perceiving it currently. It's like KZread is just too big of a company sometimes.

I totally forgot Australins sometimes refer to their money's as "Dollaree Doos".

Being personally in crypto, I can see that Liam understands the ongoing NFT space quite well. There are a lot of potential uses in the future but the random jpegs being traded are just ways to capitalize on investor speculation over something majority do not understand. I highly doubt KZread will be the one to find an effective way to utilize it to help creators since this is clearly more about the money.

It's not even JPEGs being traded. It's just a record in a database, which is represented by a picture to make it seem like it's something tangible. Similar to selling the reciept to something you've bought: The person who buys the reciept won't have the item, but he'll have something to pretend that he has bought it.

To be honest , i noticed that before the remove of dislike counts, almost all videos have dislikes, for example when grandline review post a new video , i click on it it and in less than 3 min from when the video was posted , there are already 10 to 15 dislikes, i can understd if people give likes before watching the video bc they want to support the creator but clicking dislike without watching the full video or at least 1/3 of it is clearly an attack on the creator, So i can understand youtube pov but i don't agree with it , when i click on a video i was always see the likes, dislikes counts if the like > dislikes i usually see the video otherwise i just quit (video for study or research)

NFT's could have a lot of utility for creator's, one example being production, imagine a youtuber needing $1000 to produce a video and an NFT viewers buy share the profits of the produced video. it would allow viewers to really feel like they are a part of the channel and encourage them to promote and take joy in the growth of the creator.
