This channel is so refreshing to watch. I feel like it’s a channel to get things off of your chest personally which probably helps overall as well as informing your general audience about how it is to be a KZreadr.

I honestly forgot about the existence of Team PokeMart, I remember enjoying it a lot but directing your creativity on other things was definitely the right idea.

I think part of the issue with Team Pokemart too was the slightly excessive cross promotion. I distinctly remember the comments of every community post on GLR about it being mostly negative and complaining about not subscribing to that channel yet still getting it in their sub feed either way. I was surprised cause it was the first time I really saw anyone in your audience really actively being against you, and I felt bad cause I was one of the people who voted yes in the poll where you asked if people would be interested in a Pokemon channel. That being said, I remember my favorite video on that channel, and one I thought was significantly better than the others, was the one about Ash Ketchem's Pokemon League experience or something like that. Talking about the goofy behaviors and inconsistencies of the anime just felt more at home like GLR, as opposed to the "new stock" videos. So I was disappointed that there weren't more videos like that. But after watching this video, it makes a ton of sense why that content was so time consuming, and I'm definitely glad you've put your resources back into GLR.

must admit your comedy, especially on this channel, really gets to me. I remember early on when i first discovered grandlinereview i thought the channel was like some really boring corporate channel without a personality, but i must admit i was really wrong and your personality really makes the videos on all three active channels really fun

True, I first discovered GLR 2 years ago and went "that's a boring type of video" because I was offered an old video of him that didn't appeal to me at the time, but now I'm subscribed to all 3 channels and his jokes and pun in all 3 are absolutely the best part about these channels.

Team Pokemart enjoyer here! Apparently, that EXTREMELY niche community you were talking about also included me, because dry, sarcastic humor is EXACTLY what my sense of humor is, and I really couldn’t get enough of that sad, depressed and overworked retail employee I related to so closely. If it ever did come back, either by you or someone else using your voice on their channel, I would 100% jump on that wagon without question

Man, I did love team pokemart, but I can also admit that when the vids stopped coming out I didn’t even notice. It’s weird, but you’re right: it didn’t really have too much of a direction besides hitting the nostalgia notes. Still though, those were some great videos

Ah I did enjoy this channel a lot and it appealed so much to my gen 1 focused Pokémon nostalgia. Everything you say makes sense though, and some of these problems I sort of guessed. I'm glad you were able to get GLR bigger and better after making that decision and that you have learned so much to make this channel prosper where team pokemart didn't. I am really enjoying the content over here :) I am also thankful for the teeny amount of script writing experience team pokemart gave me. It was fun to try something completely new, even if it wasn't something that came totally naturally to me.

Oh, this is exactly the video I wanted to see after watching the tekking one! I'm not particularly interested in getting into doing KZread or anything, but it's awesome to hear about the thought process and marketing strategies that go into making KZread channels and content. I don't know why, but I find it very entertaining! I also enjoy the added perspective on the history of GLR and NWR! Going back and watching some of your video series in a binge recently was fun, and I did notice differences as they got more recent, in spite of the overall consistency. It's just fun to hear a bit of background behind that, I guess? Anyway, loved this one!

I love the approach you took in this channel to educate your core audience about KZread Insider stuff, it feels conforting to me watching a familiar creator speaking openly about their endeavours; both successful and not so successful, not like an skillshare course with a teacher who might not be part of the community. And these tips serve as great insight to other platforms/fan-media as well, like instagram or whatnot, as it's mostly marketing and targeting content to an audience. Great stuff! I'm glad to have entered the Room With The Dude

I really miss Team PokeMart and was wondering what happened to it. I found you for your One Piece content, it being my favorite anime and all, but I really got attached to you, Liam, as a content creator over Team Pokemart, funny enough. I'll miss it dearly, but this explication makes absolute sense. I had a feeling that burnout played a major deal with it disappearing, but I didn't even consider those other aspects as far as KZread and the algorithm. Good on ya for keeping your career alive. I'll very happily take One Piece and New World stuff, even though Team PokeMart was my favorite of your channels, though. Keep up the excellent work, thank you for your content, Liam!

One thing I haven’t seen any Pokémon KZreadrs focus one exclusively is the culture of Pokémon, like all the none game or card products, the events, the real life far reaching cultural aspects it’s been influenced by and in turn influenced itself. I’d love to see a channel like that, there’s also so many cool Pokémon products, I’d like to see someone categorize and break down and show what their is where you can get it what’s going to come out soon or is planned, stuff like that

I know that my target audience is the gaming side of things, but more so on a discussional and analysitcal level with memes and stuff thrown into it. Like AntDude or Scott The Wox basically. Still, it is hard to find your footing here, but once you start and learn from your mistakes, then they do get better!

I think the reason why I keep coming back to this channel is because I’m a creatively driven person, and what you show off in these videos more often than not is your passion for KZread video making while also detailing the effort that needs to put into making them. Hey Liam! Love your content! Especially Grandline Review!! About the new spoilers, it would be amazing if Luffy’s awakening was unlocking, “the voice of all things,” in regards to the colossal being coming towards the land of Wano; just as Luffy began to enjoy himself again, going head to head with Kaido! Both are laughing and it seems in the spoilers they are also sharing an experience in the fight with each other, getting to know each other better through punches; and it would be epic, if Kaido began to see an image of Joy Boy as Luffy keeps getting up and fighting; this time while laughing and having a good time like Joy Boy! Maybe when the Marines invade, Kaido will join hands with Luffy to fight the Marines and CP0! Since they are all weak, Luffy will begin to hear a voice calling out to him. Then, in desperation to save his friends, the samurai, and Wano, Luffy will awaken and command the colossal being to attack the Marines! Then all Straw Hats will fight CP0 1v1 to defend Nico Robin and drive out the Marines! Kaido will sacrifice himself protecting Wanokuni: the legacy Oden, his greatest rival and biggest mark of shame, but now as a defender and will redeem himself; having been reminded of Joy Boy by his fight with Luffy! Kaido will share his backstory before dying; and Wano will be saved and claimed by the new Yonko: Straw Hat Luffy of the Staw Hat Pirates!!! What do you think?!?... Pretty trippy, yeah?!

I've thought about why Pokemart didn't click we me a lot actually. GRL had me go from netflix anime dub guy to caught up on the one piece manga (thank you for that, btw) and I've played some competitive Pokemon so I was expecting a match made in heaven. For me, you hit the nail on the head with the titles: I was expecting and informative deep appreciation like with you in One Piece and HxH but the sketch comedy style made it feel like you didn't actually know all that much about Pokemon. I think that's also why this channel is so great -- it's got your sarcastic and self-aware style with topics you understand wayyyy more than the average fan or even super-fan. Also while I pulled away from Pokemart after like 5 videos it didn't stop me from clicking on like all your other videos within a day of their release so like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But also remember that you are funny, and you make your videos very well. although of course having “your source for everything one piece” is very good, this dude in a room channel is purely you in a room. we still enjoy it so you’re half of the equation. keep it up

The other day I was wondering about that channel. Nice to get an answer although I didn't get to make the question, which is a scary thought because it implies you read people minds.

I remember when you made that channel. Always wondered what happened to it... sounds like you made the right decision, at least I'm glad you're still around and seeing success

I honestly kept some hope alive that you would restart Team PokeMart. I have had many laughs because of it. I still have random laughs thinking about the Wigglytuff sprite. As a matter of fact... I'm going to rewatch all of en 🙋🏽‍♂️ Also I follow all your channels and I just have to say: Bloody awesome job my man 👌🏼

I remember when you first asked everyone if you should make the channel in an update, and I remember myself thinking and commenting (as a big Pokemon fan) that it wasn't really a good idea because not only is it an oversaturated market, but also an incredibly stagnant one as well. I found that loads of Poketubers have resorted to making the most ridiculous types of top 10 lists like "Top 10 Pokemon that ruined my childhood", or something like that because there are 1000's of "Top 10 strongest Pokemon" lists already. Like yes, Pokemon is big and has a lot of stuff to work with, but because there are so many fans of the series, there is so much already covered, and you really have to get something fresh to bring to the table in order to break through view-wise. A very broad information channel with some comedic quips would definitely be the wrong approach.

Bring back on GrandLine Review the info type videos like One Piece 101, Devil Fruit Encyclopedia, Straw hat relations type thing, etc. I love the informative mixed with the comedy

I was watching Team Pokemart when it started, saw a few videos then was never recommended a video after that. I assumed you stopped making videos for that channel. Looking at it now there are several so I think the algorithm just never told me. I rely heavily on the the YT front page to recommend videos to me from the channels I am subscribed to because I don't have time to check the like hundred+ channels I'm sub'ed to for new videos. Had they shown up on my page I definitely would have watched them just as a fan of your content. (I am also 30 and a fan of the same series as you, so I am the demographic you described lol)
